Speaking of freeballin I'm still salty about the game last night. Schaub looked like fucking Mike Vick out there with throwing on the run and his escapability. At one point early in the game he hip tossed Michael Johnson, continued scrambling and not giving a fuck, then threw a dart at Miller.
More saltiness, and I can't believe I didn't save the replay, I had Gresham free and clear in the endzone about 50 yards from the LOS with no one within 15 yards of him. I gun it right at him and it flies past him! Like the guy turned around and watched the ball go right by him. I have no idea what the fuck the AI was doing there, but next time I'm in that situation I'm definitely manually catching it. Shouldnt even matter against the rules since no one was near.

why not just not bullet it so much? These rules are going to become meaningless if everyone adds their own qualifiers.

He was wide the fuck open though.. I know that doesnt qualify him to do a user catch but I even shook my head at that and wouldn't of even minded if he did user it, probably the silliest non-catch that shouldve been caught Ive ever seen.

I was down 3 with 4 something minutes to go in the game I had Luke somewhere at his own 30 or so I think. It's 4th and inches. If he converts he can keep burning clock. If he messes up I'm in easier position to score and take a lead or tie it
someone solve this once and for all and if we're not sticking by the rules, then take them out of the OP.

ok cool. I've got to be the worst person in the league at knowing what's coming and not being able to stop it -_- I've been having to ask the league elites what play calling to do
what about in non-short yardage situations?
What? Is it supposedly some unstoppable play, because Kuhn gets stuffed a fair bit on it. It's hardly a magic bullet, especially goal line.

Seriously, I don't pay Polite 4 mil a year for blocking. You can user LB stop it too.
I get gashed on it a fair bit because I rush my outside backers and drop mids into zone sometimes, which really opens up the middle. However, that's not because it's a broken play, it's because the called defense was shitty against a gut run.

I use it fairly often. If its some miracle play then I'll stop but I haven't seen any indication of it being cheese or anything.
It happens in real life. Rodgers missed a wide open receiver in the Giants/Packers playoff game that cost the Packers 7 points. Actually happened twice. Sometimes teams get a lucky break.

Does that mean I should get gifted some fumbles by the refs too? And that I don't even need full control of the ball for a TD?
I didn't call it cheese! I was just looking for advice to stop it. Technically it should be hard to stop anyways if you're literally trying to gain an inch. I just get frustrated when I try to close gaps but the FB waltzes past my defensive line in a gap that even I could run through for 3 yards anyways.

4th down rules still exist, but like I've said multiple times in the thread, if I think I can get it and it's not going to run up the score, I'll take the risk. Last night if I don't convert that fourth down you get the ball in FG range immediately.
Highly risky.
I'm glad I won't have Carlos' mug staring back at me for the rest of the Madden gaf season.

If I had a nickel for every time I've been stopped on 4th and inches in this turd of a game
If I think its FB dive I just crash everyone in that direction and close the gaps. Is sending linebackers to blitz bad? When that happens all I see is gaps getting wider, lol. Maybe it's just because my D-Line sucks.
I've gotten better at stopping draws but I'd also like to figure out how to not allow more than 3 yards on it if I know it's coming.
Something I need to also get better at is changing my play calling as time goes on. I've been getting off to hot starts only to fizzle I guess cause you motherfuckers are smart and adjust.
It's like I'll go 8/8 with Locker then I'll go 1/8

I had like 7 or 8 passes in the last game fly over my receivers heads. I also had a defensive drive where I forced two fumbles, one goes out of bounds and the other his player pounces on it right away in front of 3 of my guys. So in light of this I'm not following any rules anymore like Wellington!
You'd have maybe 10¢? 4th and inches is almost automatic in this game.

I mean I've been stopped on it but the reason I used it cause I always thought Tahi was a beast. I didn't realize people were having similar results with it.
Sounds good. Maybe this is a sign that they'll come back into the baseball market since the license is up. It could be the start of them trying to be the sole company in sports.

It's pretty easy if you guess which side they're gonna do it too, just manually knife through with the LB. If you guess the wrong side though, tough tits! Also helps if you can time the snap right, gives the AI less time to react to you going in manually...
Also, I know that feel Wellie. I've watched so many passes go over Wallace's/Brown's head that are totally catchable if I take control of them, but the AI just lets them go by without even attempting to get them. :|
