the last of us should be pretty good. beyond will probably be horrendous, but that's okay because it comes with this warning label:

Well, to be honest I had quite some fun "playing" or better said experiencing Heavy Rain.

As a matter of fact, I had more fun with this interactive movie than with any Nintendo game which came out in the last 5 years (that was not a remake).

The last time a Nintendo game that managed to touch me on an emotional level like Heavy Rain did was in 2006 actually. It was Twilight Princess, the last outstanding BigN game for me.

I still have some faith in Miyamoto though. He is the one of the few left in this company who values good gameplay and innovation over infantile storytelling and assembly-line production.

I wouldn't count on new NSMB anytime soon. Instead, Nintendo will be bringing large-scale DLC, including 80+ Luigi-themed levels for NSMBU this year, according to the last Nintendo Direct.

Why? Because I think that gaming companies should spend more time celebrating and promoting their own creations rather than attacking the creations of other companies?
It is just an announcet to an event in a Google ad, it probably isnt that big. But i agree with what you say, it is better to focus on your own product instead. I think this will be the case when the real PS4 ad campaign start, that they will only focus on what it has to offer.

IF you are going to judge the differences between games based on three separate 'screenshots'...you have a bigger problem in your hands. It's even worse considering you remove visual differences from the equation lol Comparing screens but no difference other than visual differences? You don't say

well i was replying to the notion that once you remove the hud, the nsmb games would look alike. and that's pretty true. i was just saying it's a truth regarding sequels in general, and i had assumed he meant if you placed them side-by-side (which would probably mean screenshots). it wasn't meant as a dig towards a uncharted. although in my comparison, i did say that the first and second game do look pretty different, so you would be able to tell they were not the same thing. it's really the second and third you might not see the differences at a glance.

Old Sony is back I see. Can't wait until 2/20.

I wonder if this generation of gamers will be ok with the trash talk that was commonplace in the 90/00s. Bring on the console wars!!!

the "is zelda an RPG" argument goes back to the 16 bit era, and I don't think its ever been settled one way or the other.

The only time Zelda could ever have been considered a RPG is now, since AAA western studios have done their best to destroy real RPGs and the genre name means nothing anymore.

We don't even know if this short comment is even from Sony's official marketing agency.

There is a chance that it is definitely, but we don't know for sure.

I'm mostly talking about the chaos that is this thread. That ad could have been from a fan for all we cared, and you know its the truth :P

It's not an RPG because your attacks all do the same amount of damage.

RPGs are generally based on some random number generator to determine damage.

calling heavy rain an interactive movie isn't really fair. that's more like what telltale's the walking dead is like.

Did you know that over the course of a measly eight years, two home consoles, and one portable, Ascension will mark the seventh similar playing God of War title, excluding re-releases?

NSMB games have stuck to one per platform even during the DS and Wii heyday when they probably could have snuck one or two more in there. If NSMB2 and U's numbers are any indication, Nintendo almost certainly won't return to that well so quickly.

Maybe then they will finally try to make the next NSMB look completely different visually.

Honestly I love fan meltdowns almost as much as the news and hype. Sony are happy to tap into it, but we will be assured its some web marketing division of a company who was just having a bit of fun. In truth, Sony made fun of Nintendo from the beginning.

It adds a bit of wrestling kayfabe to games news. Nothing wrong with that.
