Hey Belfast, I'm going start reading the manga again. Just wondering what chapter does the Davy Back arc begin?

I basically want to pick up right after Skypiea ends.

Since Luffy is in the Ocean, this is probably a good time to get Franky to rescue him and let us have a glimpse to what his operation is like.
Either that... or Usopp.

His voice makes no sense, he's not some whiley old, British guy with a goofy accent. He's a bratty teenager, with a shrill, sharp voice FFS@!

It's ok. They only have one more episode until they go into reruns anyway. :lol

At this rate, they won't be in Arabasta for like 5 years. :lol

Everybody must know his badassedness!

Hmmm...Davy Back Arc? 304 seems to be about where it starts. And Aokiji/Water 7 starts around 319. Davy Back is pretty short overall.
 
Hey, just curious - in the anime, does Luffy smack Vivi?

It's one of my favorite moments in One Piece.

just looked at it again... looks like Luffy may not be in water. That was Zoro's body.
 
Yeah, they never really showed where Luffy landed. At this point, he could either be on land or in the water, but we just don't know. I'm going to bet he's on land, though. Zoro pretty much looked like he got knocked out into the middle of the ocean, though.
 
It was cool, I teared up when I read that. It was definitely a very surprising moment - and the emotional quality it of rocked.

That other group have released movie 5, with both a low & high quality version.

Um, I guess that about wraps it up for them subbing the series. :/
 
Why movie 5? What happened to movie 4?

I'd like to watch that, but since I only read the official Viz translations of the manga and watch the main fansubs for the anime, it's probably got some stuff I don't know about yet and spoilers make me go a big rubbery one.

OP Movies are 100% filler; the only thing Movie 5 might have to spoil you is a certain crewmember who has yet to join as of the Arabasta arc.

Movie 4 saw an independent (read: not main sub group) release awhile back, as I recall.

Wow... does Movie 5 looks visually impressive or what?!! The blend of CG and hand drawn anime far surpasses anything I've seen before. And looked really good in 1080i using my Xbox Media Center...

Man, I feel like I've been waiting *forever* for Ch. 351. It must be like 3 weeks now. Damn double issues. Still, we should've had it by now. We usually get it the Thursday before the next issue goes on sale.

Isn't Jump on hiatus though? Naruto is gearing up for a major event, Bleach paused right after the fairly climactic 150th chapter...I'm getting the impression that everything is going to be hitting all at once.
 
We had to clear out our HKs at work, so the boss hooked me up with a full set of One Piece boxes (as far as what we carried, anyway... first 189 episodes). :)

I still want to know when the domestics roll out, and if they'll really be uncut or still edited ala Shaman King.

4Kids doesn't seem to place DVD releases very high on their priority list. I'm not expecting them for a long time.

And I don't really care about filler too much. As long as it's moderately fun, then I'm fine with it.

No. This happens every year. They put out two double issues instead of 4 normal issues (double issues do not have more content, they just represent two weeks). Its because of the holidays, there's always one double issue around Xmas followed by another at New Years. And since we got 350 a week early on the internet, that's a 3+ week wait for 351. :(

One of the admins over at the Arlong Park forums has been trading e-mails with a 4kids rep & he got some info on a possible uncut DVD release this year:

standards when it comes to kids time, ours being on Saturday mornings

Interesting...though I admit, I will be very fiercely torn between the desire to support One Piece and the desire to see 4Kids rot in hell when it comes to potentially buying the DVDs, uncut or no.
 
Wow, a very sad chapter.
The Going Merry revelation & the mysterious Skypiean shipwright was a bit off a shock, it'll be tough to see her go, if Franky does indeed scrap GM.

Damn, Water 7 has been down right dark! It feels like everything is coming to an abrupt end & there seems to be a million plot points that Oda has to tie up first. I just get the feeling that things won't end well, by the time this arc is over. :(

Is there anything in any of the upcoming episodes or manga to suggest why that character, "Dragon" saved Luffy and who he is? And on the trip to Little Garden, Nami was reading the newspaper and saw something but she never revealed what... What was it?

I think there's a small bit where some world leaders are discussing Draogn briefly, but that's it. Nothing else, manga or anime, has really been revealed yet.

I'm not sure about the first one since I'm avoiding the manga but 'keeping up' with it. As for the second one, I barely remember when that happened but all I can say is that Nami could've seen Robin's picture in it orr... Crocodile, hence her 'other' reason to help Vivi.
