if my phone is rooted and i have twrp, can i update without wiping the phone 1st?

assuming you didn't flash other room, yes. but go to dev menu and make sure the option for cm to update recovery isn't checked or you lose twrp. you might want to update twrp before hand if it's really old.

Should i get a one plus or wait for a new model anouncement? need a new phone really bad.

new one isn't coming until Q3 or so. if you need it now the phone can easily last a couple more years imo

Battery life is amazing on COS12. I expected it to get worse on lollipop but it actually got better. I got almost 8h SOT over 2 days.

Could anyone on COS12 get MX player to use h/w+ decoding?

Digging Lollipop so far. Looks super cool and runs pretty well. I had it on my 2012 Nexus 7, but that ran like shit.

Interested to see if the battery life increases - it's already pretty good on the OPO.

Just follow the steps. Updated my phone through this method a few hours ago.

https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-ota-manual-install-easy.297425/

updated, can only see stuff that they removed in this update...

The tv-shut-off sleep effect is gone
Phone can only be set to vibrate, not silent
Wallpapers don't slide anymore in the background when browsing through pages.
Downloaded apps have hideous random rainbow coloured tiles under them and the all apps -menu has a opaque grey ugly background too
Animations are all slower and janky now instead of smooth like they were in the old version :(
Email accounts are all deleted and you have to input all credentials again :/

Wallpapers do slide but it depends on the animation you choose I guess. Its having trouble with a couple but I have cylinder in and the wallpaper scroll works fine.

I wish I was getting the battery life some of you are reporting, I think it's partially due to my reception at work (my signal switches between 4g and edge constantly). I am usually down to 20% or so after 12 hours on a work day. With Lollipop, it's about the same.

Anyone else have the laggy touchscreen problem? I was hoping CM12 would have helped but it's still lagging.

my phone can last for 2 days on one charge.
I do have the laggy screen though

i have flip animation and it just jerkily jumps 20 pixels at a time or none at all in the other direction :/

You select "silent" mode to go silent, priority to only let through important stuff.

So they had to add a different Mode setting? What was wrong with simply tapping volume down one more time after vibrate....

also the multi-colour notification light doesnt work anymore, great :(
and i can't bind flashlight to the lockscreen anymore either

I'm still (impatiently) waiting on my CM12s update. Some day, some day....

Idk if people are interested, but here's 2 invites.

Quote to see.

I just got my update and it all seems to work smoothly. It may take a few days to get used to the changes though. I appreciate the heads up about the new notification system, so I guess I'll have to look into how it works exactly this evening.

I'll also chime in with a solid 2 days of regular use in battery life, but I guess I should note that my phone themes are usually dark, which uses less battery than the bright light themes.

The functionality is different. "None" allows no disturbances - not even alarms (there was a recent thread about this). Priority allows you to set what comes through, but alarms will always ring. Then on does whatever is normal. If you have the little vibrate icon on, it will vibrate on "All."

It is better, just requires you thinking a bit. If you want the normal silent you used to have, go to priority. But if you're in a meeting and don't want alarms, go with None.

thanks, yeah just read about that.
Still sucks that my OCD has to handle several new icons in the status bar regarding audio settings now :P

And i need to find some hacks to enable the notification lights again and not these lockscreen filling text notifications.

Yeah notification light not working is garbage. Google was smoking crack with some of these changes.

Anyone having the issue where when a notification pops up on the top, you can't tap on it.
I noticed it with whatsapp messages. But I got a call earlier and I couldn't tap answer.

At least CM has diff profiles that makes it logical. I don't really have other issues you mentioned but probably because I never use default launcher.

Is notification light really broken with the update? I thought I saw it on my wife's phone last night but I'm not sure right now. On my Nexus 5 on CM12 it works fine.

It lights up when charging, but doesn't blink for new notifications like on KitKat.

Manually updated yesterday. So far mostly good, had an issue with Play Services requiring an update but then not doing so, finally got it to update and stopped getting annoying notifications about it, but Play Store is kind of wonky on updating apps. Will just sit there and say it's downloading but then nothing. Have to cancel and then select update again to get it to actually work.

Also using the Lollipop launcher and don't like how the status menu is all black and I can seem to change it in the theme settings. Their stock launcher is fine and the status bar/menu is nice, but cant get the official Lollipop one to change. Normal settings menus are all white and with the dark green icons.

Funnily enough I just had this pushed to my Xperia Z3 today. Everything is certainly... bigger.

I'm loving this update so far...Everything seems faster to me and I'm still getting used to the intricacies of Lollipop so far, so good. I also have great battery life but I purposely avoid installing apps that will hog my system (eat me, facebook). I easily get two days on a single charge...similar to how things were on KitKat.

Is there a way to roll back if necessary?

Nope. If you are rooted you can wipe everything in TWRP and then reinstall a 4.4.4 ROM or do a complete factory reset in fastboot with a system image from Cyanogens website. I used the TWRP method to keep my media files.

Yikes.. so far not impressed... very annoyed at a number of things... still compiling my thoughts but many little things are bugging me at the moment after updating.

Well I don't know what to tell you, her screen comes on for a second and the notification light goes off when I send her email.

The notification light doesn't turn on when you have your phone silent. They are fixing it in 5.1. If you are seeing a notification light it is because you don't have sound disabled.

Now that's very different than notification doesn't work at all.

I hope it means in 5.1 you have sound/vibrate/silent modes instead of just sound/vibrate. If the new way is, notification light still comes on even when the phone is set to no interruption mode, no thanks; that's just f'ed up. No interruption should be just that, no interruption; not "no interruption - sort of".

this whole priority, no interruptions all interruptions, all/priority notifications on "screen" or no notifications at all is really messy as the notification light seems to be also affected by these and you can't toggle it to be on separately.

I normally have low volume or silent, but i love the notification light as it tells me exactly what program sent me a message as i've colourcoded them and have the slow pulse or single blink effects on.

Now the light is basically always off as i want to keep the phone silent and do not want those lockscreen notification messages displayed. I want these off but the light on. Goddamnit :D

You can turn off the lock screen notification and still get notification light by changing the lock screen notification to show nothing. (The option is in notification manager section.)

So you can setup a low volume or zero volume profile and that should do the trick. In that case, your notification will make no sound and you don't get notification on your lock screen but you will get notification light. (I just tried it.) The only part that is missing is that setting zero volume for ringtone only turns the phone to vibrate mode; there's no silent mode for ringtone category. But that vibration only applies to calls because I have vibration turned off in all my apps individually, so it is not that big of a deal for me.

I think Google just need to add the old silent mode back as the third toggle state to solve the issue. I'm not sure what their problem is.

Going to be sticking with KitKat for the rest of the phones life or the next Android version.
Lollipop just isn't doing it for me.
