"Only on GOG.com" sale - Witcher 3 50% off

Btw, if anyone wants System Shock 2 and/or Assault on Dark Athena - PM me, I have the codes from previous GOG sale which I don't need as I already bought both of them some time ago.

Probably in for Witcher 3, Dark Sun, Eye of the Beholder games, full Star Trek Bundle, and Planescape. As much as the rest of the gold box stuff is revered, I just know I couldn't play them again nowadays because I wasn't really into them that much even back in the day.

I'm considering getting The Witcher 3 but i keep wondering if knowing The Witcher 2 is important?

I do have The Witcher 2 on my GoG account but i've never really played it, my old laptop couldn't run it reasonably, and on 360 the UI felt really bad (and the combat tutorial was utterly awful, didn't get it at all).

HLTB says the main quest is 43 hours and I'm not one to do a ton of sidequests unless they're really interesting.

Skipping side-quest on TW3 is like following one of those guides that tell you to Skip episodes of shows on a non serialized drama that were not directed by specific people or to skip season 2 of the Wire.

I'm really tempted, but the plethora of DLCs/expansions/whatever (yeah, I know, some other games have it worse) make me want to wait for the complete edition. I'm not a fan of titles in kit form.

Star Trek bundle good? Haven't played any of them.

I really liked 25th and Rites, will probably bite on that as well despite having both on CD-Rom. You'll need interest in old retro adventures though. They're old, but really good and have cool puzzles. Space combat parts kinda suck tho.

Kit form is unfair. Game is finished as can be and the two expansions are completely separate stories. I even think it would be a bad idea to finish the complete edition in one go because that's easily 150 hours of quality content.

Anyone planning to play Witcher 3 on PC using a controller (DS4), I recommend the following:

1. Hook up your PC to the TV. (optional)
2. Install Inputmapper for Dualshock 4. (There are other softwares for other controllers like Xpadder, Antimicro etc)
3. Install this InstaCasting Mod to make combat more fluid. (There are similar mods for Xbox or other controllers as well.)
4. Play Witcher 3.

reasons not to buy the witcher 3
- you already own it
- you have bad taste
- you're hitler

I'm a 4th option! ;p
I bought F4 at launch and recently Battlefront. I still hasnt played them, maybe for an hour. ;/
I would love to play Witcher 3 sometime, but when? ;/
And even i have free time, i dont have big desire to sit to very long SP game. I mostly wait now for DLC to Warhammer: End Times ;p

So if i were to get the gog copy of the witcher, id then have to get all the dlc's there too right?

Yes. All DLC is free though, except the expansion Hearts of Stone, which you will need to buy from GOG. Blood and Wine paid expansion is planned for 2016, which again, you'll need to buy from GOG. It's no different from buying the game on Steam and then having to get the DLC on Steam only.

I figured as much. Thanks dude. Imma coax my gf to get me it as an early birthday present.

Next question: i have a conpleted save from the steam versiob of Witcher 2. Will that transfer alright since its just a save file?

Oh shit. I just pulled a Steam. LMAO. I already own the D&D pack from back in August and don't remember buying it. D:

I love GOG's flexible bundle deal thing. I got 80% off the remaining DnD titles I didn't had, and could remove from the bundle those I already had which lowered the bundle price even further.

Damn... Will have to content to half a megabyte per second DL speed. The download's gonna take forever.
I need to leave my PC on for the night due to the DL size but i need my phone as an alarm clock... in another room, meaning the signal's weak.

EDIT My normal speed is around 1.8 megabytes per second.

I buckled and bought it finally. I'd feel bad thinking about my personal GOTYs if I didn't give TW3 a shot and with holidays approaching I got more time. 2016 feels so fuckin packed that I fear I might not come back to it.

I might try to just blast trough 1 and 2 since I already own then from dirt cheap sales.

One does not blast through 1.

I heartily recommend picking up 2 and 3. Couldn't get into 1 as I felt it was quite dated by the time I got round to it and also it kept crashing on my system (my friend had the same issue).

I really wish the DLC was had a bigger discount than 10% though. What's the point of saving 1 dollar? (Besides using it om a Humble Bundle)

But I should probably stop being cheap and get the expansion anyway.

The expansion is 15-20 hours long and higher quality than most fullpriced AAA games. It is extremely cheap already.

Wanted to get rid this extra copy of SS2, seems like a good place as any.

Sidequests in this game are more interesting than most other game's main quests.

This is not in any way hyperbole. Probably the best sidequests of any game I've ever played. Even stuff that seems like quick and dirty "Go kill the thing" quests can twist and turn into unexpected situations.
