Is the no Platinum trophy Sony's doing?

Or is the Platinum trophy "suddenly" going to be included once the DLC is released?

No, you can't do that.

I've already said the reason above. Its based on whether the game falls into Small or Large scope, and this is based on a few things including game content, feature set, size (not download size) and so on. If you fall into Large scope, you are allowed the full Trophy list which includes the Platinum.

A small game (like Thomas Was Alone for example) can't just have it because the developer wants it.

This is occasionally broken, with notable ones including Resident Evil 4 and Code: Veronica, which missed out on two full Trophy sets.

If anything, Sony should raise the limit on PSN games' trophies. It's still the equivalent of 200 (300?) Gamerscore, while Microsoft has raised the limit two years ago.

What results from this is that some games have more achievements than trophies, or every single trophy in the PlayStation version is a Bronze.

They should at least double it. There's a biiiiig gap between what you get for playing a Platinum-list game vs. a PSN-list game
