Seems kind of strange that they allow multiple instances of characters on the same team... might be broken to just go all bastion/d.va when holding a point.

That will work for now probably, especially on console. But eventually that would get destroyed.

Got on and messed around in a few matches, mostly as Mercy. Game seems very solid. Too early to really say anything more than that.

What I've been super impressed by so far is the presentation. Everything about the UI is so slick and snappy. Leave it to Blizzard to make it kinda fun just to pop around the menus.

Just had a capture match that was nothing but defending d.vas. Annoying as hell but we won.

I don't like payload

Will this game have modes where the mode is neutral and not attack and defend?

I kind of want something where I'm not just funneling from point a to point b

I think a domination mode (hold 3 points) with a second phase (destroy the base) would be fun

Or a classic CTF mode with some twist. Or a tug of war mode. Or a bomb mode where you're trying to destroy 2 locations

I don't know, I feel like they would be a lot more fun than payload.

The mode where you capture two points is pretty okay

Stop turning the same corner into someone you know is waiting to shoot you in the head...she also can't one shot a large amount of the characters in the game.

You don't have a choice in most cases since most approaches are through a choke point with no alternative and where the widowmaker can cover the whole entrance or approach.

The characters she can't "one shot" has no chance of getting to her to deal with her.

You're right. Widowmaker is invincible. You solved what nobody in the beta for the past over half year did! Shit, delay the game to fix this problem.

You can just insist that you're flawless and she's bullshit, or you can listen to the advice given. Any flanker can get around without getting sniped and just ruin her. You can play another sniper and countersnipe her. you can Genji and E her. You can winston or Dva and literally just rocket right onto her face and kill her. Winston is probably the most blatant counter, but lots of things work.

I find Reaper and Tracer to be the best Widowkillers if you're not a pro sniper. Reaper is easier to get in without alerting her.

This. Everyone has a counter to them.

So is there a "over 30s group" (even though im only 28) or something somewhere anyone knows about for this game cause I really want to like it, but I'm sitting at about a 15% win ratio and am not having fun losing so much. I think I'm to slow for this type of game anymore.

Try using heroes that don't rely on superior reaction time or aiming skills. Symmetra, Winston, Lucio, Mercy, Reinhardt off the top of my head.

When Blizzard throws you into a match that's in Overtime and your team is losing

Wow, this reminds how we need a new PoTC movie even though the last three were no good.

I feel like the game would be better if you could only select one character per team.

It's just moving goal posts. If that were the case, it'd switch to people thinking the game would be better if a hero could only be picked once per game between both teams. Then it'd be better if heroes were locked for entire games. Then it'd be better if individual players could lock into specific roles. Then it'd be better if teams were forced to make full team compositions.

If teams are getting blown out by countering a hole in the other team's composition, that means they're now twice as open to get blown out by a counter to those characters.

Stop blaming age, and get better.

The game is launching with three modes

escort
assault
control

There is a fourth hybrid, which starts with assault and ends with escort. I don't think you will see any new game modes for a while unfortunately, the game is pretty team focused so stuff like team deathmatch, kill confirmed, or free for all wouldn't work too well unless they disabled healers and probably ultimates. I would expect them to eventually add stuff like capture the flag, ball run (uplink), safeguard, etc.

Personally i think every team should have atleast 1 junkrat. His weapon is really good at scaring off enemies and its good in clearong out an objective.

So far who i like using

Reaper
Soldier 76
Widowmaker
Hanzo
Bastion
Junkrat
Roadhog
Zenyatta

Im glad ive found something which i can use in all areas.

played both PC and Console now.
Graphics hands down winner is PC hitting 60-100fps on some decent high settings and looks CLEAN AF
On console you can tell there's a drop in texture quality and seems like 0 AA which on my system handles nicely.
(GTX750ti FTW / i3 cpu)

Gameplay, where it matters most. This game feels like it's holding back on console and the controls feel strange. But it is playable and is okay.

PC feels unlocked where all the action is really fast paced and smoother. The game just flows better on PC imho.

Community wise though... I have to toss my hat to the PC due to the console space kinda flooded with the usual mainstream shooters (BF and CoD) And after PS4 comes to an end and is then PS5.... I doubt many people will still be playing on the PS4

Hmm, that was okay?

I played as Mercy, which I understood to be like the Medic from TF2. Went okay, won our games. Its a very 'Blizzard' game with presentation and UI that is really excellent. Found the cast of characters and roles to be a bit too broad and confusing. Haha, I dont think I can think clearly about this without endless comparison to TF2, and currently its a bit behind it.

I think I probably did it get this game. It looks like everyone like it but not for me.

I have the feeling this game doesn't know what it wants to be. There some arcade mechanic trying to make the game fast mix with some mechanics which slow down the game.
I've played with Tracer who can move fast. But finally did not use it so much because I spent my time hiding while reloading. I think the reload happens way to often and is way to long. It's the first time I feel like this on a game.

It would be better if the heroes were not so rock paper scissors

dirty bomb lets you stack the same characters, lets you repick at any time but there really isn't such a thing as counterpicking in that game.
In dirty bomb you pick based on the needs of the objective , map and the part of the map you're fighting in.
It's infinitely much more balanced and infinitely much less frustrating (as you never run into a hard counter enemy)

I love the counter game. Nothing better then grabbing Reinhardt and shielding the payload while the other team just hits you with bastion turrets but you just walk the payload in for the win.

Also POTG is fucked I had a few 5-6 kills with Dv.a nuke but lost to a double kill?

Got my comfortable duo. Mei for defense, and Soldier 76 for attack. Been kicking ass with those two. I like how every person is figuring out how borderline broken fuckin' Roadhog is lol. Everyone's using him.

Starting playing as Mercy for basically the first time, didn't do too well and got half the team shitting on me in chat at the end of the game. Feels good man.

Temple of Anubis, seems like any other match until OH GOD SIX WINSTONS.

We lose A almost instantly but then I and another switch to Dva.

We held down B for 8 minutes straight, where they went from all Winston to Winston/Reinhardt then Winston/Reinhardt/Zarya and then all Pharah. What a rush. Every wave was an exercise in figuring out counters, although I stuck with Dva so I could suicide the control point.

I've never played team fortress or any game like that. I didn't start having fun until I used Mercy. Enjoying it so far and I will try some more tomorrow'.

I'm surprised about that. I've played a metric ton of Mercy and I've never had anyone talk shit. She's either the best healer or the easiest to pick off in some matches so it gets rough sometimes but I've never had people talk shit. I wouldn't worry about it too much. As long as you're healing people there's a lot worse you could be doing.

I don't see how the distinction is inherently better game design, it's just different (and not even in the part wherein roles can be preferential in regards to specific objective types). With that same premise, you could make the argument that because there's less emphasis placed on the relevance of roles, Dirty Bomb is ultimately a less team oriented game because players can ultimately be less cognizant about what their team is up to and be more selfish from a role perspective.

Worst POTG has got to be when some guy on defence kills a bunch of attackers that are rushing the payload as the clock runs out. I get that it's a lot of kills very quickly, but there surely has a be a better play than that.

Also when a Reaper gets POTG for death blossom, but in reality during the game, a Mercy immediately reversed all the kills moments later with a Resurrect. I think they should sort of cancel out.

POTG has potential to be great when it does catch an awesome play, but so far, it's just the same thing over and over again.
