Overwatch porn is being forced offline by DMCA takedown notices

I OW porn explodes now Blizzard only have themselves to blame.

Same with the Tracer butt/pose stuff. 99% of all Tracer """fanart""" is about her butt and Blizzard is the reason for that

I'm all for this.

Everyone's making Overwatch SFM porn when they should be making DOAX3 SFM porn. This might get them back on track.

As long as Kotaku keeps making those articles they'll keep DMCAing what is being linked/mentioned in them to show they're doing something about it. They're just trying to save their asses from being accused, probably by the same people, of tolerating and/or promoting rape/misogyny/objectification and all that fun stuff by not publicly taking action against people making "brutal porn" (actual quote from an old Kotaku article about videogame porn) of their IP. Which probably falls under fair use, by the way, but that's porn so nobody's gonna question that.

They're not stupid, they don't actually give a shit and they know they can't stop it, but they have to do something when that stuff gets in the spotlight and they'll soon stop afterwards when everyone else moved on.

I personally don't care that much on a "practical" level since I find CG porn pretty silly, but it's a shitty practice in general, not from Blizzard, but, in this case, from Kotaku. They know what's gonna happen to the people they mention but they don't give a fuck, gotta get them clicks. Who cares if you end up harassing people having fun?

Pretty much this. It's being done in response to writeups about it so they have something to point to when other press inquire about it. It's the exact same line of thinking of 'why didn't they do it earlier/why didn't they do it for WoW', I can't imagine they actually give two shits outside of press putting it under a magnifying glass.

TBH there is no way to stop this. I never knew this kind of stuff existed to this standard.

I saw the Bioshock Infinite one on pornhub, which was more funny than actually 'sexy' The most disturbing ones are those horrible Last of Us rape ones with the gangbangs.

Who spends time making that kind of shit?

Some of the highest grossing Patreon's are from people that make animated porn games or animated porn movies. The Patreon with the highest user support is one that makes animated porn games and pulls down 35k a month.

Good. They have the right to do it and the game appeals to kids as well.

No reason for this kind of weird stuff to be out there.

lol. This is normal stuff. They can't possibly keep up with the flow of content. They're targeting the popular stuff and even that they can't keep it down.

I just drew some Tracer in MSpaint. It's a stick figure with boobs but you know what? Fuck the cops. I might even make Widowmaker kissing her naked.

Come at me.

They should..

Anyways back to drawing some hot Genji on D.va with a bunch of dicks.

They should but in my experience the more dollars people are raking in the more aggressive the company gets. There are legal ramifications even sometimes to letting someone make money off of your IP.

Im guessing this only applies to content created by using the models ripped straight out of the game, as many SFM movies do, no?

Technically, people would be able to create their own original models from scratch and continue to porn the characters with impunity like all the people who draw or write smut.

Lmfaoooooo.

It's probably got something to do with the fact that searching for any overwatch character brings up more porn and lewds than SFW stuff. Some of it looks insanely close to official art too (better even).

There's an incredible Tracer x Widowmaker GIF on google...I've heard from a friend. But there's actual porn? Asking for said friend.

Lol as if thats not gonna stop people from creating porn of overwatch. Blizzard should just let them be since its giving them free advertising.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
How's my main babe Pharah rocking the scene?

Honestly I'm happy about this. Tracer is my favourite character, its pretty off-putting that she's sexualised to the extent that she is by the more NSFW side of community. This could go for a lot of game characters, but I'm happy that Blizzard are actually making a statement.

This is what I believe as well. I doubt Blizzard actually gives a fuck as they let WoW porn slide just fine.

It's not the statement you think it is. They're doing this for the PR and perception of their game while they go back to jackin' it to Tracer.
