the Wii has a growing userbase that has grown large enough to accomodate lots of both types of gamers. You can already see the results of this by increasingly successful third party games as hardcore gamers buy into the system and keep getting games they are interested in. The Wii has enough of both to support a full library of titles already and will only grow further in both directions.

It's not a good thing when this post sounds much much much much more brighter and smarter than yours, Exodu.

For someone with good writing skills and overall good explanation, your opinion on gamer/non-gamer is really way past stupidville.

Wait what does this mean? Am I suppose to have a worse post than Exodu or anyone for that matter?

That's probably a bit of what makes me set my inflamatory flamebait in the first place. I get a little ticked off when people praise Wii sales while completely realizing the games selling are games that generally wouldn't interest the majority of the GAF community. My disappointment with Wii sales is that games and genres that I enjoy on the system are not the ones selling well.

Yeah I can see where you coming from.

So for those who thought that GT5P bombed in the Netherlands, I can say that it's #1 over there on week 14.

So yeah, its sales most likely weren't tracked last week. I guess the NL charts go from friday to the next thursday.

I was simply considering "non-gamers" to not be core video gamers in the traditional sense of the term. Rather than classify them as non-gamers, I'll simply resort to classifying myself, and the majority of GAF, as core gamers. Anyways, I already said I shouldn't have brought it up the term or argument in the first place, and I certainly shouldn't have continued arguing about nothing, and I aplogize for it. Let's just drop it at this point.

Nope. Non-gamers play games. Real gamers just bitch about sales and reviews on GAF.

Is PES Wii only charting in the UK?

Looks like it. Still, it most likely charted in Ireland, too, but since it's an all formats charts we don't know the specific contribution of the Wii version. And some countries are missing for PES Wii's release week (France, Spain, Finland, Italy). We'll see next week (or in 2 weeks for france)

I didn't expect it to chart in Germany's Top 10. I expect it to chart in both Spain and France though. Not so sure about Italy.
Wii is very weak in Italy... I don't expect it to chart there.

Nintendo products have until very recently had virtually no advertising or solid distribution here. While the situation has improved with a new distributor, its pretty hard to go up against the dominance of the PlayStation brand and the combined advertising efforts of Sony and Microsoft.

I feel like Dark Sector would have sold alright in Australia. Late, toned down and bundled out into a crowd of palpably more awesome games, I'm less optimistic.

I'll just concentrate on Sega's Wii games in the Top 40:

03 (02) [WII] Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games (Sega)
10 (12) [WII] Sega Superstars Tennis (Sega)
15 (__) [WII] The House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Return (Sega)
28 (22) [WII] Sonic And The Secret Rings (Sega)
34 (33) [WII] Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Sega)

So we have two really well done sports games, one totally core Shooter-game, one exclusive and equally fun platformer and one great skill game. Two of which (Sonic, Monkey Ball) are among my favourite 3rd party games for the Wii and these are five of the best games in Sega's line-up. I'm a bit sad that NiGHTS 2 isn't among the games charted as I prefer this over the first three games in this chart, but well, not every game can be so successfull. Saying that these games are no games GAF members are interested in is quite harsh as all of them are well above average games and definetely not "non-gamer's games".

I know, then again it IS PES, that's why I'm not sure. It could show up for a week and then vanish.

Mmh, here in italy the ones who want PES had already bought it with a ps3 or a 360.. .or for ps2.

Yeah, that is weird. Must be a price cut or something.
Likely. There has been a significant price collapse in Germany. Maybe other countries too (not in the UK though as far as I can see).

Finally it seems we are consistently showing some good taste.

Also wow at GT5p it is dominating everywhere, and this is just a demo the full release is gonna be madness.
