505 Games’ ‘Zumba Fitness’ retains the top spot with an impressive 33% increase in sales

recording its second highest sales week since its release 31 weeks ago, outselling the next three titles combined (ironically its highest selling week was week 13 2011 where it only managed No2 due to being pipped at the post by Crysis 2). Rockstar/Take 2 are still on the case with ‘L.A. Noire’ climbing two places to No2 despite a 15% drop in sales, with Warner Bros.’ new release ‘F.E.A.R. 3’ following closely behind at No3 (funnily enough F.E.A.R. 2 debuted at No2). The titles at both No4 and No5 have also moved up the chart despite a drop in sales with Codemasters’ ‘DIRT 3’ ( -11%) up three places to No4 and Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ (-21%) at No5. Last’s week’s No2, Nintendo’s N64 port ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D’ (-69%), is now down to No6 with EA’s ‘FIFA 11’ (+2%) moving up the table to No7. 2K Games/Take 2’s ‘Duke Nukem Forever’ (-61%) sees the biggest drop, down five places to No8. Bethesda’s ‘Brink’ (-48%) has dropped from No5 to No9 and rounding off the Top 10 is 2K Sports/Take 2’s ‘Top Spin 4’ (+98%) flying up the chart from No28 as we have the first week of Wimbledon. We have a couple of other new releases this week with the PS3/Xbox 360 version of ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ debuting at No17 and EA’s Shadows of the Damned in at No31.

Say, didn't Wii Play Motion come on Firday with NOE saying "OMG its going to like make people buy remotes because it comes with one..."...and chart-track have put it on the budget chart...as it costs £40*...its number 5 there outsold by Just Dance 1. To be fair its one of those games which will sell more in the months to come (like Wii Party) and its probably already beaten the LTD of Flingsmash.

*-Yet Wii Party cost the same (even at launch, its cheaper now) and that was not on the budget chart...I guess the game on its own was £30 which is what did it.

Zelda OoT debuts at the same position as the original. The original climbed to number one the following week for Christmas before dropping back down the charts (supply constrained?).

Yeah it was. Basically put NCL let down NOE (it was something like NOE wanted 250,000 then got less than that...I think 150,000) and then I think only around 90,000 when to the UK. Its fuzzy as I'm basically going off what I remember a magazine of the time said which I last read about a decade ago...as I also remember something about it being not enough to fulfill pre-orders so basically most didn't get to enjoy it over Christmas.

The game was released in November last year and has already leapfrogged sister title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to claim the top spot. It’s cumulative UK sales up to June 25th stood at 3,722,411 – just ahead of the previous champ at 3,702,410.

Do you mean the PSN hack? If so, i dont think that this had that much of an impact on the total sales. It has most likely sold more on the Xbox 360 because of the bigger userbase.

The Nordic Edition of L.A. Noire just included "The Naked City" DLC case. I guess that Dirt 3 Nordic Edition is something similar, that it just contain some free DLC. So nothing too fancy really, besides some free included DLC

Best-selling dance fitness game Zumba Fitness has conquered the UK all-formats chart again, spending a third consecutive week up top.

What's more, Zumba managed to outsell the next four titles combined: Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, L.A. Noire, F.E.A.R. 3 and Virtua Tennis 4.

This week's newcomers, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D and UFC Personal Trainer, are slow to start - finishing 21st and 22nd respectively.

Was Resident Evil's debut hampered by the no-delete cartridge save-game debacle?

Shadows of the Damned endured a terrible second week, dropping from 31st in the all-formats top 40 way down to 30th on the Xbox 360-specific chart. There's no sign of the game on the PlayStation 3-specific list.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Dirt 3, Top Spin 4, Brink and Fifa 11 round out the top 10.

505 Games’ ‘Zumba Fitness’ has shown amazing stamina by staying at the top spot for three weeks in a row and has now racked up a total of six weeks at the top with a good change of holding on for a few more weeks yet. This week it has managed to outsell the next four titles combined despite a 5% drop in sales, really showing its dominance over this quiet period. Disney’s ‘Lego Pirates of the Caribbean’ (-4%) has managed to climb up the chart, back at No2 this week, knocking back Rockstar/Take 2’s ‘L.A. Noire’ (-31%) to No3 and last week’s new entry, Warner’s ‘F.E.A.R. 3’ (-25%) down a place to No4. With the second week of Wimbledon now coming to an end we find not one but two Tennis titles back in the chart, with Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 4’ (+111%) flying up the rankings from No20 to No5 and 2K Sports/Take 2’s ‘ Top Spin 4’ (-6%) up two places from No10 to No8. Sandwiched in-between are Activision Blizzard’s ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ (+77%) up from No17 to No6 thanks to the release of the movie this week, with Codemasters’ racer ‘Dirt 3’ (-17%) in hot pursuit at No7. Rounding off the Top 10 we have Bethesda’s ‘Brink’ (-16%) holding firm at No9 and EA’s ‘FIFA 11’ (-31%) back down to No10. Capcom’s ‘Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D’ and THQ’s ‘UFC Personal Trainer’ are the only new entries to penetrate the Top 40 this week, debuting at No21 and No22 respectively.
