Titanfall Sold less than Hardline in the first week?

It'll be interesting to see where Star Wars places on that list. I'm guessing this ratio holds true in most regions. People proclaiming it's the exclusives selling the consoles are probably missing that 3rd party sells far more.

Bruno, do you have a NFS series comparison like the one for Halo & CoD?

What about Wolfie? I thought it did well, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

An expected decline for Halo 5, but I kind of wanted it to do better. With the juggernaut releases about to come out, it's not gonna get any better.

BO3 numbers aren't impressive either, but the trajectories been downhill for a while.

Out of curiosity, how well did Halo 4 do on its 2nd week? Coincidentally, Blacks Ops 2 released right after it xD

EDIT: This is the best I could find. I assume Halo 4's 2nd week drop is close to 78% anyways.

Halo 3
w2 -79%

Halo Reach

w2 -80%
w3 -45%
w4 -43%
w5 -37%

Halo 4

w2 N/A
w3 -26%

week1:

Halo Reach = Halo 3 + 20k
Halo 4 < Halo 3

Bruno, do you have Halo 4-Black Ops 2 numbers?

Halo 4 second week sales? Chart-Track didn't give its weekly percentage change. It had a first week opening of 336,000 units. Call of Duty: Black Ops II sold 1.54 million.

Bruno, do you have a NFS series comparison like the one for Halo & CoD?

Sorry, I don't have it.

How about BF4?

We didn't get the splits by platform the week Battlefield 4 Xbox One was released.

Code:
(100%)

[Week 44, 2013] BATTLEFIELD 4 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 140,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2013] BATTLEFIELD 4 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 64,400 / 204,400 (-54%)
[Week 46, 2013] BATTLEFIELD 4 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 33,488 / 237,888 (-48%)
[B][Week 47, 2013] BATTLEFIELD 4 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 78,362 / 316,250 (+134%)[/B]

What about Wolfie? I thought it did well, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

It’s a debut at No1 for Bethesda’s Swedish studio MachineGames first game - ‘Wolfenstein: The New Order'.

It's the 6th game in a series that began in 1981 with ‘Castle Wolfenstein’ and becomes the 2nd biggest release of 2014 (behind Microsoft’s Titanfall initial release in week 11 on Xbox One/PC) and New Order accounts for a quarter of all entertainment software unit sales in week 21, 2014 (36% of all revenue).

[Week 21, 2014] All Entertainment Software Units - 328,200 (100%)

328,200 / 4 = 82,050

[Week 21, 2014] WOLFENSTEIN: THE NEW ORDER (BETHESDA SOFTWORKS) - 82,050 / NEW (100%)

PlayStation 4 (38%) - 31,200
Xbox One (31%) - 25,400

It's weird because those numbers are taken from Chart-Track press release note, they must have been adjusted.

Chart-Track tended to extrapolate to 100% for publicly released numbers, but the redacted numbers available to members weren't extrapolated. I expect that's where the difference lies.

Exclusives do sell consoles, but realistically the console with the most games is going to attract the largest audience. Originally, people did buy a 360 for Halo 3 and Gears, and then Microsoft coasted on third parties for the latter half of the 360's life, which lead to a lot of lacklustre hype about what microsoft could offer gamers. Conversely, Sony exited the last generation with The Last of US, so a lot of gamers bought into Sony's system because the perception was -rightly or wrongly- that Sony had far stronger first party studious than Microsoft.

if black ops 3 had five days like the other call of dutys did then it would've done better than ghosts and advanced warfare in its first week. also, i'm expecting increases in the united states definitely for black ops 3 as well

That's hella low. My current guess is 480k.

For serious? Even with the UK market going 9 to 1 digital?!

OK, minus the sarcasm about digital, I've heard rumblings for people I know in retail stores that it was slightly exceeding Arkham Knight on their end, but let's just say my source on that was in a store that's overpriced (TAKE A GUESS WHICH ONE), so I'd be happy for them to be wrong.

Plus, this was last week, now they hype machine is in effect, it could have been boosted now.

What did the witcher 3 and skyrim do week one in the UK?

184,000 for Witcher 3, 308,000 for Skyrim I'm seeing. Skyrim was twice as big as their previous biggest title, which was New Vegas.

With the rough numbers of Blop3 at 635, you guys don't think F4 can push 400?

Looking at Skyrim, I'm gonna go 300. I'd love to say 400, but it's such a gap between FIFA, then COD and everything else that it would be slightly unexpected.

Skyrim went head to head with Modern Warfare 3 which took 1.7 million. With COD losing a million in that time, I can't see it getting that close to Black Ops 3.

I think the chances of Fallout moving 400k units is less than 5%, even Battlefront won't sell this many units.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if Battlefront does it.

Yeah, I'm convinced that Fallout 4 will match Skyrim lifetime, but with all the UK retail market contracting in general with all these stories about low franchise numbers, I can't see it doing that.

I think it will be close with Battlefront though, even if Battlefront week 1 likely pip
boy
s it.

My prediction for fallout 4 is 150,000 week 1 sales in the uk.

I think that one's pretty damn low though. It should beat Batman and at least break 200k.

I have seven guesses in so far, with the mean being a dead-on 300k. That might have to be my guess.

EDIT: Looking at the above, if Skyrim can pull 320k then surely F4 can get closer to 400k with more marketing and time, plus the 'From the makers of Skyrim' tag everywhere?

Disclaimer, the following is not the Swedish sales chart for week 45 (not released yet), but the top 10 sales for the week so far at Webhallen (one of the biggest retailers aimed at core gamers in Sweden).

1 Call of Duty - Black Ops III (3) [PS4]
2 Fallout 4 [PS4]
3 Call of Duty - Black Ops III (3) [PS3]
4 Fallout 4 [PC]
5 Call of Duty - Black Ops III (3) [PC]
6 Call of Duty - Black Ops III (3) [ONE]
7 Call of Duty - Black Ops III (3) [360]
8 StarCraft II (2) - Protoss: Legacy of .. [PC]
9 Fallout 4 [ONE]
10 Playstation 4 (PS4) Basenhet

If this is anything to go by (which it most likely isn't), Fallout 4 on PC is outselling Fallout 4 on Xbox One, at retail. That's pretty damning.

Wonder if this turns out to be the case in Germany as well, since they're also pretty big on PC.

Would be mighty surprised if we see anything like this in UK though.

In a lot of European markets, the retail market for PC is still bigger than digital.

But you do have the roughly 20% digital now too and everything has slowed down from that gen right now.

That said, the Steam numbers are insane compared to anything else that has come before it, so it might pull a surprise.
