so the 3 games that Sony have been pushing big on Vita in the UK all bombed!

doesn't bode well for other publishers.

doesnt bode well for VITA itself.
I think PASBR is still to release.. but i dont think it will do anything where other big names have failed miserably.

I hope SONY do have a backup plan for saving the VITA..

I want to note that even if PASBR is a success, the Vita version isn't going to sell much. Everyone who owns both a PS3 and Vita (and is remotely intelligent) is going for the PS3 version which includes a download code for the Vita too. It's hard to judge performance on these cross-buy titles.

I feel this was the last throw of the dice for any significant support for Vita from at least western companies I think it really is done for now sadly.

It is maybe possible that a large portion of the PS3 owners who are interested in Wonderbook already have a Move controller as well though. I can see that Wonderbook caters much to people who already invested in EyePet for example. But are there any sales numbers for PS3 and Wii hardware, both consoles and Motion+/Move in the UK?

That's starting to make a few leaps there, I can't supply any hard numbers regarding motion plus but its been included in all wii hardware packs for several years (initially through an included m+ dongle then a wiimote+) as well as numerous game bundles both for the dongle and for the wiimote+ id personally guess a majority of wii owners have motion+ and even if not it wont be far off, move sales are apparently 15 million (compared to 70 million ps3 sales) but that doesn't account for people owning 2 of them

Leaving aside the controller discussion. I feel that the first week sales are pretty dismal. Being 45th in German Chart and not appearing in any of the scandanavian chart in top 20 and only appearing at 25 in UK chart.. look like first week sales will be <10k for whole of europe.

Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II hold onto the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats No.1.

Sales of the shooter fell by 81 per cent week-on-week, which is notably better than the 87 per cent drop experienced by Modern Warfare 3 in its second week last year.

In fact, Black Ops II sold 15 per cent more last week than Modern Warfare 3 did in week two.

Square Enix’s Hitman: Absolution debuts in second place with sales three times better than the former best performer in the series, Hitman: Blood Money.

In sixth spot we have another new entry in the form of Warner Bros’ LEGO: Lord of the Rings while Amazon’s Black Friday deals on THQ’s uDraw Studio selection sees that re-enter the listings in 13th.

Disney’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two and Activision’s Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse debut in 34th and 35th respectively while Sony’s PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale enters the charts in 38th.

Elsewhere, Sony’s Book of Spells improves on its week one performance to enter the Top 20 for the first time.

Here’s the UK Top 20 in full for the week ending November 24th:

1. Call of Duty: Black Ops II (Activision)
2. Hitman Absolution (Square Enix)
3. FIFA 13 (EA)
4. Assassin’s Creed III (Ubisoft)
5. Halo 4 (Microsoft)
6. LEGO Lord of the Rings (Warner Bros)
7. Just Dance 4 (Ubisoft)
8. Skylanders Giants (Activision)
9. Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA)
10. Dishonored (Bethesda)
11. WWE ’13 (THQ)
12. Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park (Mind Candy)
13. uDraw Studio: Instant Artist (THQ)
14. Resident Evil 6 (Capcom)
15. Football Manager 2013 (Sega)
16. New Super Mario Bros 2 (Nintendo)
17. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)
18. Medal of Honor: Warfighter (EA)
19. F1 2012 (Codemasters)
20. Book of Spells (Sony)

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-26-uk-chart-cod-black-ops-2-holds-off-hitman-absolution

Hitman: Absolution has been held from the top spot in this week's UK all-formats chart. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 continued its reign on top despite an 87 per cent drop in sales from last week.

Absolution can console itself with earning the best opening week sales of any game in the series to date. It beat the previous best (2006's Hitman: Blood Money) by a factor of three.

A cavalcade of other new releases last week was headlined by the excellent Lego Lord of the Rings, which debuted in sixth place - behind chart stalwarts FIFA 13, Assassin's Creed 3 and Halo 4.

Other new releases fared less well. Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two flopped into the chart in 34th place, ahead of Activision's Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse in 35th.

Lower still was Sony's Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, placed in 38th.
Now we wait for the full chart...

Has anyone seen an advert for it?

Wasn't this one of Sony's holiday system sellers?

It was 'suppose' to be. Am never sure with Sony; look at all the games they blew trumpets over. Twisted Metal I still find shocking; HUGE E3 presentation focus, not cheap stuff. Then...it released...and they didn't tell anyone :/

All Stars is just an odd one. I've seen stuff on gaf; but IGN is like the only website I've really seen give it a lot of space.

Outside of all that...nothing. Just ads posted on gaf; not seen a thing. Its all been Halo 4 TV ads and Hitman Bus adverts.

Am not sure if Sony just isn't bothering, or if they don't fully understand the difference from their 'customers' and the limited group of people who read IGN and watch E3.

It was never a perfect game. But thats the sales result of something given zero effort by the publisher; not a mediocre'ish game.

Uhh....Uncharted etc. sell, the idea that all Sony games bomb is stupid.

Uncharted is more down to the great quality behind the title and people falling head over heels for the series. I don't recall its marketing being all that stellar, but that never mattered.

LBP is their major success this gen; they created the hype around it and kept the franchise going most of the gen.

But other than those...theres a fair few titles that are just sort of...put to market...and...nothing...literally nothing is done about them. Its odd.

Have any of these charted well? Other than FIFA 13.

Also Gran Turismo? Started relatively slow but has just kept on selling forever. In Europe, anyway. Which does illustrate a continental divide for some Sony franchises. I would see PSABR being a lot more popular Stateside (like Twisted Metal)

I'm quite surprised at how bad Sonic Transformed is doing. It got outsold by F1 Race Stars again. Although I have actually seen TV ads for F1RS.

I'd hardly call LBP a big success at least with regards to upfront sales (though it's apparently done very well with dlc) as mostly its seemed to sell thanks to bundling and bomba prices

Is Dust even out yet? I honestly don't know what Sony were thinking with this 'lineup'. It's all mediocre guff. I'm not saying Microsoft knocked it out of the park and somewhat bored of the same games they keep bringing out but at least they put out a killer title in Halo 4 and to a lesser extent Forza. If all goes well, which it had better, GOW, Beyond and Last Of Us will make me turn on the PS3 again

‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ holds off Square’s new entry ‘Hitman Absolution’ despite an 81% drop in sales.

It’s a successful second week for Activision Blizzard with sales of their previous Call of Duty title ‘Modern Warfare 3’ having dropped by 87% in its second week. In fact, 2nd week sales are up by 15% compared to those posted by MW3 last year. ‘Hitman Absolution’ settles for a respectable No2, outselling the next best ‘Hitman’ launch (Hitman Blood Money in W21 2006) by almost 3 times.
There is no change at No3 and No4 as sales of both ‘FIFA 13’ (+2%) and ‘Assassin’s Creed III’ (-0%) remain reasonably static. ‘Halo 4’ (-26%) drops to No5, ahead of newcomer ‘Lego The Lord of the Rings’ from Warners which debuts at No6. Family titles ‘Just Dance 4’ (+39%) and ‘Skylanders Giants’ (+12%) are still proving popular, with Ubisoft’s title a non-mover at No7 and Skylanders slipping to No8 despite a 12% jump in sales. ‘Need for Speed Most Wanted’ (-8%) holds on to a Top 10 position at No9, while after two weeks out of the Top 10 ‘Dishonored’ (+79%) returns at No10 thanks to a retail-wide price promotion. A major retailer sales event propels ‘Udraw Studio’ (+406%) back into the chart at No13. There are new entries further down the chart with ‘Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two’ new at No34, ‘Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse’ at No35 and ‘Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale’ at No38.

Epic Mickey Bomba....

Judging by the demo, they completely forgot who the target market was for a game like this. My gf just felt the controls were clumsy and the on-screen cursor (on 360 - presumably in place of a Wiimote pointer) to be somewhat convoluted.

If they'd even just have made a bright and colourful Mickey 2D platformer then it'd have sold better than this. The reason why Nintendo excels with this demographic is because they keep their games incredibly simple to control, and leave the depth of a game up to the player rather than forcing it on them.

Also Gran Turismo? Started relatively slow but has just kept on selling forever. In Europe, anyway. Which does illustrate a continental divide for some Sony franchises. I would see PSABR being a lot more popular Stateside (like Twisted Metal)

Twisted Metal sold shit everywhere iirc.
Also, PSABR really should be more popular in Europe, otherwise it might just be any old fighting game; Sony is in better shape in Europe anyway.

GT is GT and not new to this gen; Post-PS3 Sony is different to Pre-PS3 Sony.

I'd hardly call LBP a big success at least with regards to upfront sales (though IRS apparently done very well with dlc) as mostly its seemed to sell thanks to bundling and bomba prices

Meh. Thats what its for. Its their casual way into the PS3. Not exactly Wii Sports but its been a success. Should be killed and replaced next gen before it gets too stale.

THE WORDS! They'll drift away without the _!
So last year MW3 did ~256,000 in it's second week.
Meaning Blops 2 did ~294,000 this week and ~1.54m last week.

.. I think.

I don't know in what world Sony thought Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale should be at the forefront of their end of year lineup.

Game had bomba printed all over it.

I think they are in a similar situation to Sega; their greatest enemy is not Nintendo, but still they fire shots at each other :D

Man PSABR is one of the biggest bombs recently. Hopefully it does much better in the US or Superbot won't be around for long. I think the biggest unnoticed bomb this season has been the new Professor Layton game. Also even the first Epic Mickey didn't do well in the UK, so I wasn't expecting much.

If I wasn't on NeoGaf and follow gaming news a lot, I wouldn't have a clue this game had come out, I haven't seen any sort of advert for it in any sort of medium.

When will Sony learn?
