Call of Duty is back with Activision Blizzard and developer Treyarch exploding at the top of our All Formats Chart with ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’.

With a Tuesday launch it becomes the biggest launch of 2012 and the 4th biggest of all time. It’s Xbox 360 taking the lion’s share with 60% of sales going to Microsoft’s console as opposed to 38% on Playstation 3. Further down the chart Sony’s ‘Wonderbook’ appears at No25. In the battle of the cartoon racer Codemasters' ‘F1 Race Stars’ just takes the flag at No26 ahead of Sega’s ‘Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed’ at No27.

Pretty certain they advertise all 3 SKU's the PS3 version, the complete kit and the book/game version. I wouldn't say any of their adverts are a con as usually at the end of it will say Move required. Certainly if you already have the equipment it is a well priced game considering you get the book as well for £23. What will be interesting is the price of the games to follow without the book.

To be fair, chart placement so soon after launch mainly represents pre-order sales, and Wonderbook isn't the sort of thing that gets pre-ordered. Its the sort of thing that harried parents grab off of supermarket shelves as presents in the run-up to Christmas.

UPDATE 1: Chart-Track has confirmed to Eurogamer that Black Ops 2's UK launch was smaller than Black Ops', Modern Warfare 3's and Modern Warfare 2's.

Those three games are the UK's biggest ever launches respectively. Black Ops 2, released last Tuesday, is the fourth biggest.

UPDATE 2: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 sold fewer copies than 1.7 million in launch week in the UK.

I wouldnt say that it is a con if it says that move is required, even if it is a small print. The commercial also applies to those who already have a Move controller. But at least it says cleary on the front of the game box that Move is required. Same thing about the Skyward Sword commercial for example, i dont think that it said that Motion+ was required, but at least it should say that on the game box. In both cases, i dont think the primary goal is trying to trick the consumers. But it might be a bit shoddy adverticement if the point that extra hardware is required isnt clear enough.

No idea. The camera is used for the AR codes in the book, but i'm under the impression that Move is required. It says that Movie is required on front of the box of Books Of Spells at least.

I wouldnt say that it is a con if it says that move is required, even if it is a small print. The commercial also applies to those who already have a Move controller. But at least it says cleary on the front of the game box that Move is required. Same thing about the Skyward Sword commercial for example, i dont think that it said that Motion+ was required, but at least it should say that on the game box. In both cases, i dont think the primary goal is trying to trick the consumers. But it might be a bit shoddy adverticement if the point that extra hardware is required isnt clear enough.

At least with skyward sword a very large chunk of the wii audience (possibly even a majority) have motion plus already, move owners represent only a small proportion of ps3 owners

It is maybe possible that a large portion of the PS3 owners who are interested in Wonderbook already have a Move controller as well though. I can see that Wonderbook caters much to people who already invested in EyePet for example. But are there any sales numbers for PS3 and Wii hardware, both consoles and Motion+/Move in the UK?

so the 3 games that Sony have been pushing big on Vita in the UK all bombed!

doesn't bode well for other publishers.
