PAL Charts - Week 46, 2012

PSABR outsold by Family Guy? I said goddamn. Played the game recently at Best Buy, it's a pretty serviceable smash clone, but I don't think Sony's demographics in the West are really itching for mascot brawlers.

Difficult to interpret the second week spring back for Black Ops 2 (compared to MW3) - better WOM? May be a sign of much better legs

If I wasn't on NeoGaf and follow gaming news a lot, I wouldn't have a clue this game had come out, I haven't seen any sort of advert for it in any sort of medium.

When will Sony learn?

Sony usually advertise the game after it is launched... This has been there strategy this generation. I hope they have not forgotten to place the advertisement for this game.

In other news, liberation has disappeared from the chart and declassified is on its way out, I guess the vita faithful have nothing else to cling on to

Likewise, 3DS continues to be completely unable to sell anything that isn't Mario as Layton clearly isn't a strong as it once was. Special mention to Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion debuting 8th on the 3DS charts.

In Europe maybe but the US could be very interesting with those price slashes on Black Friday. It'll be a good indication on the 'price effect' and whether the console and its now at least larger library is of value to customers just not $200 value.

Both games did alright though; not 3DS levels of chart clinging; but they did alright imo.

I don't think anybody expected power of illusion to sell anything outside America

So the main Platform for Skylanders seems to be Wii and it doesn't look like it is setting the world on fire there either. Is the success of it already over?

It would have been interesting to have the platform split for Epic Mickey 2.

It's #7 on Wii charts below Wii Party and FIFA!
#31 on 360 charts next to Kinect Harry Potter and DOOM3 BFG!
It's not even in top 40 PS3 charts!

that's pretty telling.

It is doing better in the charts than Skylanders did. All the money comes from the character pack sales anyway.

Mickey isn't a particularly strong brand in Europe to be honest, yes he's well known but as far as classic Disney characters go, the ducks (Donald/Scrooge especially) are much much more popular. The first Epic Mickey didn't sell particularly well. I don't even think the KH games did that well even at the peak of the brand.

Actually in the UK mickey is the biggest of the classic Disney characters but he really ain't anywhere like as big as in the USA

I stand corrected then. Should have just said that the Disney brand isn't nearly as powerful (at least for games) here as it is in the US... I always wondered why tbh.

For continental Europe I believe you are correct about Donald duck being Disney's main character and Scrooge probably has a little nostalgia from 30ish year olds like me but yeah overall Disney isnt as big here (well the movies are pretty huge but not the classic characters), when I was a kid at least the Warner cartoons/characters were far more popular
