Uncharted disappointing start, Singstar started even worse then Ratchet...
Mass Effect dropping really fast.
PS3 version of FIFA08 rises with no reason?
I am as surprised at you, tons of online retailers have it in their Top 5 selling games, and a lot of them are even selling it for £35.pswii60 said:I'm surprised at Uncharted's performance given that it is charting highly on almost all on-line retailers.
Also wondering what has happened to Sony's £1m Uncharted UK marketing campaign.
Bundles, same for Fifa 08 on PS3.FIREBABY said:Somebody please explain where Viva Pinata came from. For one of the 360's lowest selling games, how could it be sitting right next to Uncharted which was recently released? And where is Ratchet and Clank?

TheDuce22 said:I know in the US we are bombarded with PS3 ads during NFL games and other high def programing.
In the UK at the moment, there are also a ton of commercials for Wii games (be it Nintendo, EA Wii games or RRR2), not so much for DS any more, a ton for PS3 games, and EA's NFS commercial is on just about every ad break on Sky Sports. The only company not currently advertising on TV is Microsoft. The last 360 commercial I saw was about 2 weeks ago, and that was just that 'If everyone can play, anyone can play' commercial from the US.

I really don't think this DLC idea, as cool as it sounds to us, is right for the audiences of these games.. The average Singstar/Buzz player just wants to put in the disc and play the game, and with all that space on Blu-Ray why shouldn't they?Visualante said:Yes, same format as Singstar. Frillen said:What I find interesting is that Rayman 2 had a better opening than Uncharted. A third-party Wii title selling better than a big first-party PS3 title? Uh oh...
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games wins a dramatic sprint to the line this week, gaining 6 places to reach No1 and beating the Christmas No1 favourite EAs Need for Speed: ProStreet in a photo finish with only 330 sales separating the two.
The Sega published Wii-exclusive title claims a personal best weekly sales figure, up 39% on last week, making it far and away the best performing Wii game over any 7-day period. Segas All Formats gold medal win can be seen as wind assisted due to it being a major part of several Wii retailer bundles. It is the first Sonic No1 since Sonic Mega Collection Plus in week 5 2005 and the first Mario No1 since Super Mario Sunshine on Gamecube in week 40 2002. The All Formats Top 5 is very competitive this week with just 8,000 units separating Mario and Sonic at No1 and FIFA 08 at No5. Activisions Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare proves that its not just Wii games that are enjoying the Christmas run-in, up from No5 to No3, boosted by a 45% increase in sales of the Xbox 360 version (No1 in the Xbox 360 and PC Charts). EA maintain 3 games in the All Formats Top 5 despite The Simpsons Game dropping one place to No4 while FIFA 08 also falls one place to No5 even though its sales are up 18%.
Sonic & Mario is not the only game to benefit from retailer bundles as Mario Party 8 makes it two Mario games in the Top 10 (four in the Top 40), climbing from No27 to No10 and Segas The Golden Compass enters the All Formats Top 40 for the first time since its release 2 weeks ago, sales up 220% thanks not only to bundling but also the release of the film in cinemas. The effect of Wii hardware bundling can be seen further down the chart as Ubisofts Raymans Raving Rabbids 2 enters the Top 40 for the first time at No24, while EAs The Sims 2: Pets re-enters at No32. Three new games make this weeks All Formats Top 40 : Links Crossbow Training which comes bundled with the Wii Zapper gun accessory at No27 followed by Sonys new PS3 IP Uncharted: Drakes Fortune at No28 and the first Pokemon game on Wii Pokemon Battle Revolution scraping in at No40.

So popular they were told by Nintendo to stop the promotion half way through the week as they had sold way over the expected amount! :lol
radioheadrule83 said:I saw a Wii in CEX for £290 today. That's £100 more than I spent on mine a year ago!
If the supply situation in the UK is that bad that they're pulling adverts, I wouldn't be surprised if software in subsequent weeks suffers for it... obviously, there'll still be people buying Wii software as presents for both themselves and others, but I think for really high results, they need that hardware moving too.
Having said that, the story about them pulling ads did seem a bit odd to me, because for weeks I'd seen signs in shop windows saying "Wii console not in stock - please call in for details of our next delivery" and things like that -- but they disappeared recently. I was in HMV just the other day, and they'd just got a shed load by the looks of it. Sign outside saying they had them, people crowding the Wii section inside. So maybe they just pulled the ads because they know they don't need them?
One application they're quoted on is like a triva game of the year quiz, if you have family around over the holidays they can put out a trivia-OTY quiz which they simply couldn't do with a DVD release because code has to be finalized month's before the actual year end.Sage00 said:I really don't think this DLC idea, as cool as it sounds to us, is right for the audiences of these games..
