The PS4 also impressed in the software category, outselling its closest competitor by double in both value (110%) and units (106%). The platform's software value and units grew by a booming 78% and 71% respectively compared to 2014.
Someone remind me...was the PS4 meant to be below or standing atop a cliff?

Halo 5 is below Bloodborne and The Order 1886.
NZ was suppose to be XBOX Stronghold..

Xbox stronghold? lol. The PS3 launched at NZ$1200 here and it still thrashed the 360 within months.

Someone around the launch windows was saying there were no XB1's left and PS4's were still flooding stores. It's become a running joke.

Can never tell if noobie is serious though.

So, Far Cry Primal sold >100K on PS4 first week. In UK the drop during the second week was ~64%.

If in Germany the weekly drop was similar, Far Cry Primal for PS4 should be >36K....

But even with a pecsimist 70% drop, it's still >30K...

TWILIGHT PRINCESS OUTSOLD IT. HOLY FUCK LOL.

Thank you Raist. :)

P.S
Jesus Pokèmon Shappire and Rubine boost in those recent weeks :O

Extremely unlikely, Heavy Rain sold that well because it was new and there was nothing like it at the time, no game in the genre since then sold anywhere near as well as it did.

Telltale games are significantly cheaper and available on every single platform and they still never came close to the success of Heavy Rain, Detroit won't be any different.

Telltale games usually look like shit and have about 0 replay value.

Beyond and Detroit have the best graphics their console can offer.

They have a much more advanced gameplay and tree branching....

It's not hard to understand why telltale is failing.

A good comparison would be Life is Strange, that was actually french too and much closer in terms of design. Not those glorified visual novels Telltale is making.

Said it before, but Street Fighter is not that big in Germany in general. No arcade history and lack of PC support in the past, so there's less nostalgia. I feel like I'm playing more people from Sweden than Germany online...
The competitive scene is quite small, too, and those are the ones buying it right now.

But UK drop was 64%. So yes, 70% seem unlucky.

What do you think the drop was?

Probably just above 70%, just by virtue of it selling more there than the UK it appears.

Beyond had a very shitty showing in the UK charts. I don't think Detroit is guaranteed anything, graphics or not.

Probably Sunset Overdrive, people just forgot about the game. And that was bundled as well.

And let's not forget Tearaway either!

I don't think so honestly, i could agree the drop is bigger than UK, but i think should be still less than 70%, probabily 67/68% imo.

Anyway, what really matter is Zelda > 30K. :p

He said partnership.

Otherwise it's probably stuff like Tearaway or Gravity Rush, yeah.

Some of the Nintendo partnerships were huge flops as well.

Ah true. I'm still worried we'll be talking about Scalebound in the same terms by the end of the year :(

Those new ips are always hard l to sell specially Vita Remasters, SF is in a very different position.

Were you expecting bad sales for Zelda? Isn't TP the best selling one? I guess I'm not getting the hype for it's sales?

As i thought, it is a typo on the site with the awards, press release states 100K
http://www.biu-online.de/de/presse/...en-computer-und-videospiele-im-februar-2.html

Still a huge opening.

Pretty big for this time of year, but it's pretty clear that this type of game would sell truckloads in germany.

Halo 5 is the first game that reached 100k on Xbox One without the skewed digital sales.
Fifa did it probably too, but it was heavily bundled and bundles don't count for these awards.

I'm not sure what I was initially expecting. We had Wind Waker HD, but that had a bundle and was a part of the Mario Kart 8 free game deal (that's how i got WWHD). Otherwise, it would've done pretty poorly in my opinion.

And though TP was more popular than WW, graphically the HD remaster doesn't look as good as WWHD. And the fact that it WWHD already came out (reducing the thirst for zelda), and Zelda U is coming out this year, I did not expect great sales. So it's doing above my expectations as of now.

Tomorrow we will know how Tom Clancy's The Division did it.

Chart-Track will likely give more details than usual about its performance if it becomes the best-selling week one for an Ubisoft title.

Ubisoft biggest launch week:

[Week 22, 2014] WATCH DOGS (UBISOFT) - 388,000 / NEW
[Week 44, 2012] ASSASSIN'S CREED III (UBISOFT) - 332,000 / NEW

Bonus:

[Week 37, 2014] DESTINY (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 417,000 / NEW

What we could hear tomorrow:

>417,000 = "bigger launch ever for a new IP"
417,000 > X > 388,000 = "Bigger launch ever for Ubisoft"
388,000 > X > 328,000 = "bigger launch ever for next gen console"
< 328,000 = "Bigger launch of the year"

I will go with the second or the third since i can see it selling very similar to Watch_Dogs. Outsell Destiny could be epic though.

They've already done the PR about it being the biggest new IP from UbiSoft worldwide and since the advertising was so heavy here, I'm guessing we in the UK follow suit. Hopefully they indicate if it's done better than Destiny or not.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-03-14-the-division-is-uks-biggest-ever-q1-launch

The Division is the UK's biggest ever game launch during the first three months of any year.

The online shooter's arrival last week was the biggest Q1 debut for any game since previous record holder, PS2 racer Gran Turismo 4 back in 2005.

Ubisoft previously said that The Division was its biggest ever game launch worldwide full stop.

In the UK, it was Ubisoft's third-biggest ever game release - behind Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 3. The publisher will hopefully be happy with the news - although after four years of development it's likely Ubisoft needs the game to be a colossal success.

54 per cent of physical copies were sold on PlayStation 4, while 45 per cent were sold on Xbox One - a pretty close platform split. No doubt Microsoft's marketing spend and promise of early access to the game's DLC helped here.

Top 10

The Division
Far Cry Primal
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
FIFA 16
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
Lego Marvel Avengers
Grand Theft Auto 5
Forza 6
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Rainbow 6: Siege

I really need to stop buying games, my backlog just keeps growing. From what I've played of the division it seems ok though not as good as WD.

Ubisoft are having a tremendous quarter. Primal came in way above what I was expecting and is holding strong by the looks of it. The Division will also decent legs with no major releases for a while.

I really do find it crazy that even with the large gap in install base, microsoft can still get close to the ps4 in actual software sales

It's pretty close in the UK, it should be around there, especially with the marketing deal.

Yes. EDIT: Actually Wednesday for AC3

There is no large gap in the UK. The software split seems close to the hardware split. Maybe somewhat closer due to MS marketing and the division being a multiplayer shooter.

I'm not surprised about The Division < Watch Dogs in UK.

Watch Dogs in Europe was very big.

But we know Worldwide Thr Division has Sold more First day, so expect USA Sales to be waaaaaaaaaay bigger.
