Video and photo evidence Monday morning confirmed that Sarah Palin used crib notes written on her hand for a Q&A after her speech at the conservative Tea Party convention on the weekend.

As the crowd cheered, the former Republican vice-presidential candidate was asked in a post-speech Q&A, what the top three things were that would have to be done when Republicans regain control of the U.S. House and Senate.

“Rein in spending, obviously,” Palin replies, then glances down at her palm for a memory jog.

A close-up showed the words “energy,” “budget (cut?),” “tax” and “lift American spirits” scrawled on her left hand.

Palin was paid $100,000 for her speech Saturday night at the convention in Nashville, during which she lambasted U.S. President Barack Obama as that “charismatic guy with a teleprompter.”

On Sunday, she admitted that she was considering a run for the U.S. presidency in 2012, saying, “It would be absurd not to consider it.”
The former Alaska governor told Fox News during the convention that she’s better prepared than she was in 2008.

“My focus has been enlarged,” she said. “I sure as heck better be more astute on these current events than I was two years ago.”

Although news photographs of Palin during the speech show the writing as she gestures, it was only during the post-speech interview that she actually paused to consult her handwritten list.

The only thing scarier than having that dolt as Vice President....is to have her as President.

If she were to run...and god forbid, win..... I'm moving to Canada.

Sarah Palin is a fucking moron. News at eleven. This woman is infinitely more embarrassing than GWB.

Last election it was pretty much the same thing.

Put her in a Playboy magazine, not in the White House.

Holy shit, I saw this photo yesterday and just assumed it was a photoshop.

I mean, it was just too perfect.

Everyone else who is questioned about running for president generally defers the question, saying they're not in a position to consider it at the moment.

That should tell you something about her qualifications.

Though the crib notes thing is completely overblown.

On CNN, they went to their twitter stream (yes, they do this now) to see comments about it, and someone said that it was the same as Reagan using index cards or Obama using a teleprompter.
I say that the difference is that using those things require preparation, writing notes on your palm say, "I was totally hammered last night and need to remember my key points while I'm in the car on the way to the event.

People on the Internet: SARAH PALIN SUX!!1!!!

People in the real world: Voted for Bush...twice

The Rethugs only brought this on themselves with their "Oh my god Obama is using a teleprompter" ridiculousness. If they didn't try to make an issue out of that, I actually doubt nobody would have cared Palin wrote on her hand.

:lol :lol

She needs to go a little more high tech. Like a iphone app that's fruit machine style buzz-word generator. Someone ask a question? Just consult this for the right set of bullshit buzzwords to construct your answer around.

Seriously though...I don't think notes in and of themselves are a bad thing, but it's what her notes are that's lol-worthy - 'tax', 'energy', 'lift america's spirits'. Do such obvious high level things really come so slowly to her when speaking that she needs reminding? If you need to write shit like that down I'm not sure how immersed you really are in those 'issues'.

Considering she couldn't even eke out a full term as governor of Alaska, I can't imagine how she thinks she could run the entire country.

No fucking way she gets the GOP nomination. I don't see Republicans honchos letting a loose cannon like Palin jeopardize their recent momentum. Just give her cushy radio gig or something to keep her occupied and permanently out of government.

That should destroy her in the primaries. But if they send her to die against Obama they can write her off afterwards.

It happened during the Q+A section, AND they were all prescreened. Not only that, but the words were very basic in which you would think she would have a strong grasp of those topics. :lol

Seriously? Seriously? There's just no way... I can't believe this.

"No, no, wait, not budget cuts, tax cuts! Those are the cuts that people like."

Should have just used a teleprompter with the WHOLE speech - probably some Navy "Corpse-men" in the audience that would have appreciated it.

:lol

You guys crack me up.

Good. I can't think of anything that would mobilize moderates to vote democrat more than Palin running for president.

Even a palin hating libuurrl like me sees this no worse than index cards or scrawling on the margins of prepared notes. Sure, it shows a lack of sophistication - especially when you consider the substance of what she wrote - but the act itself pales next to everything else she offers.

She'd never survive the primaries. Though I'm sure the debates would be far more entertaining if she participated. Rich White Asshole's Club won't go as easy on her as Biden did.

If you take away the fact she already quit one political job for no god damn reason (aside from the obvious one of going for a more profitable position of extorting money from shitheads)

aaaand if you take away the fact that she's practically the biggest reason the GOP lost the last big election

aaaand if you take away the fact she'll be running against Barack Obama

You're still left with the fact that she's a bumbling god damn moron who is less qualified for office than most of GAF.

Isn't the bold part one of her selling points?

I stumbled across this yesterday and thought it was a joke...

I'd probably give anything for a Jay Allard and Sarah Palin Presidential campaign.

She's messing with your minds.....

Oh shit, is that a real picture?

If so, the original pic is like Palin is Rick-Rolling liberals who feed off drivel like this.

Not that I'd vote for her for President.

Enough votes is actually the only thing you need to qualify for office. And she has more votes than anyone on GAF =)

Thankfully this isn't something that elected officials should have to worry about.

I still contend that watching her get torn apart by other Republicans in the primary will at least be entertaining.
