PAX Prime 2012 Registration - ALL SOLD OUT

glad I got my three tickets the first time they went on sale, yeesh.

edit: really kind of sad to see how many people didn't get tickets though. They need to go to the system Sakuracon has.

I've gone to the past five PAX Primes and I've never felt fatigued from walking.

This discussion is almost making me hope they turn off the escalators to help out-of-shape people to get some much-needed exercise. :/
 
Missed out on the three day passes, so I just got 3 one day passes for each day. *This will be my first time ever going to PAX, so it better be worth the $105!

*Hopefully it'll be my first time. It's pretty far away, so anything could happen.
 
two pax's ago I had to walk like a mile uphill like six times to get to my girlfriend's hotel room to help with stuff

that was a godamn death march
 
Wow, wasn't expecting badges to sell out this fast. The funny thing is I just remembered to check the Pax site before heading home about an hour and a half before badges sold out. Really hope registration doesn't become a clusterfuck down the road since Pax has sort of become my own consolation prize for getting shut out on SDCC badges lately.
 
Can't believe those 3-day passes sold out so fast. Had to get individual day passes, which are quite a bit more expensive. Damn youse work schedule! Oh well, at least since I moved to the area I can just drive or take the LLR to the convention center. This'll be my first PAX attendance.

What the hell, this is the first time in 6 years now that I have to buy individual day passes. I feel like such a commoner. Oh well I'm usually dead on Sundays anyway I just need to make sure to see all that I need to before then.
 
I'm really pissed off right now that my credit card is on the verge of expiring and it might take a few days until I get the renewed card. Until then I can't book a hotel and the worry is by the time my card comes every one of the closest hotels will be sold out of rooms. I hope that won't be the case.

Nah I'm coming. Just bitter about having to pay $105 because their site wouldn't load on my phone and I didn't stop off somewhere with a computer to book it. Lookin' forward to seeing you again!
 
They're losing their mainstream appeal with how fast this shit is selling out -- especially to those with jobs during the day.

The scalping this year is going to be absolutely insane. Something has to be done.

They've popped up on eBay already, which was weird since you could get 3 1-day passes (while they were available) for less than the price they're asking.

I love being in an Australian time zone, when registration opened at a great time for me...
 
With Saturday out, and still no word on PAXDev. I'm sitting this one out (barring the outside shot of getting application for [E]).

For some reason forgot to post this earlier.

If anyone has a Sat. pass they end up not needing, shoot me a PM. Forgot to get my 3day this year, and am in the market (but not for the 200 dollar ebay ones).

That won't happen. They need different people every day or the merchants wouldn't make any money on Saturday or Sunday. People who buy 3 day passes tend to spend all their money on the first day.

Don't worry, I'll be there representing Waterloo GAF again. Firestorm can be an honorary member if the rest of WaterlooGAF who went last year missed out.

We still don't know how many scalpers actually got. You can't really do much about the odd person here or there with 4 passes. Same thing happens with Concert tickets, people buy them planning to go but notice the demand is really high and decide they would rather make a quick buck then attend.
 
Was freaking out because they never gave me a confirmation email for the 2 three-day passes we ordered when they first went up. Apparently they're still moving information around, and we're confirmed going.

Also snagged a hotel even though we're local, I can't be assed to deal with the bus system late at night.
 
Personally, I just find it confusing that other badges don't tie into the default badge, and both the BYOC and PAXDev has the same issue: trying to get one badge doesn't guarantee the other, even though that's the expectation.
 
Scalpers make me mad.

Not gonna lie though, it did cross my mind to buy 2 passes so I could sell one. It was tempting knowing that the profit would have paid for my gas and food to and from Seattle.

But, alas...I didn't want to be "that guy" and just bought one.

Seriously. Last year the same thing happened just so scalpers could make some cash. They need to start limiting tickets sold per person to 1-2 total.

See, the thing that makes me grumpy is they don't even wait until the first day of sales is over. At least later on I can assume benefit of the doubt - shit happens, people might have to sell their tickets because they end up not being able to go or something - but this is just shameless grade-A bullshittery right here.

See, I'm not a fan of that either. If I'm flying in from distant places, and am booking a room of 4 for hotel, it makes sense for me to buy 4. A scattered system only means that you can't even ensure you can go as a group of friends.
 
Friday passes are now gone. Only Sunday left.

I guess I can give my F5 key a rest.

Worst part is that my girlfriend told me this morning she was planning on going with me, which means my waiting to find someone to go with was all for nothing :(
 
Organizing groups is a bitch. Getting commitments and money out of people is like pulling teeth. If you don't pay me upfront before I put my credit card down and buy everything, you're on your own.
 
Makes me sad to look at the post above. My friends got 4 tickets for Friday and Saturday. Anyone know what we will be missing by not going on Sunday? If we feel like going I think we might just buy them off a scalper or something, if we feel like we didn't get to see everything we wanted to.

Expo hall remains mostly the same for all 3 days. It's hard to saw what you're going to miss with panels (won't be announced until like a month before so). You're definitely going to miss out on the Omegathon final round, if you're looking for that.
