PC Drivers for Xbox One controller are out.

Yes! Been waiting so long for this. Going to go get me an Xbox One controller immediately.

Hope it gets wireless support in the future. After playing wireless on the PC for a while, I can't go back to wired. I will for this though. Tired of using my PS3 controller on PC, the triggers don't do a lot of games justice.

Waiting for final opinions on that damn D-pad. I got to try it out once briefly and thought it was decent, but not great. But still, this 360 D-pad is so bad it's even difficult to navigate menus with it.

if the xbox one dpad is at least as good as the dual shock 3s then im happy.

Please don't joke around, my heart can't take it.

I may not be the best person to discuss the quality of the d-pad, but as far as my personal experience with it goes, the Xbone controller's d-pad is much better than the 360 controller's d-pads for fighters. I can't compare games directly but I have played KI with the Xbone controller and KoF XIII with the 360 pad and there is a noticeable difference in quality (favoring the Xbone controller of course).

That's cool of them. I really hope Sony is planning on doing the same - I don't have an Xbox One, but I do have a PS4, and I love its controller. I'd almost consider buying an Xbox One controller just to get a controller with a better d pad.

guess it's time to buy an xbox one controller, but I'm wondering why did he not mention how we'll get to experience the rumble functionality?

Pretty sweet. I might have to finally buy a second Xbox One controller to keep around. I should get the one with that play and charge kit. That way I won't be wasting batteries while sitting near my computer anyway.

Well I just tried the Xbone pad for the first time today.

Nope. Terrible design. Uncomfortable. Horrible loose sticks.

360 pad is easily better.

Nope. Great design. Very comfortable for long play sessions. Enhanced analog range (better d-pad too).

XB1 pad is easily better.

On a serious note... you need to give it some time. It's hard to go back to the 360 pad after a while.

Not to be a downer (I love the Xbox One controller), but it isn't. It's serviceable at best. The Dual Shock 3's dpad can comfortably play a fighting game like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. All the dpad on the Xbox One controller could play well is Mortal Kombat. If all you use the dpad for is the four main directionals, it's perfect. Diagonals is where I think it's still a major fail.

I feel like the One d-pad should be better than the 360's, but I'll have to play a bit to see (don't have any 2D action games on Xbox One).

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

EDIT: The Xbox One controller is my favorite of all-time. I can't wait to try out some Steam games with it.

I wonder if impulse triggers can be supported by titles in the future or retroactively patched in, either way the triggers alone clinch it for me over the 360 controller I can't go back!

x86 are the 32-bit drivers, right? Xbox controllers are blue tooth right, so if my PC has a blue tooth sensor should it work wirelessly?

The "Play & Charge" kit comes with a micro USB cable, right?

Pretty sure, the controller w/ the kit did. It's your standard miccro USB cable with a light on it that shows you that it's charging.

Cool. I think i like the bone controller more than 360? Like..i dont really like the 360 controller much, so i think the better dpad on bone sells me on it. Couldn't care less about the right analog stick really, as long as its not offensively bad im fine.

Wish i could just use my ds2 on everything

Had bought Alan Wake on a steam sale a few weeks back and hadn't gotten around to playing.

Installed drivers to test and now I'm having trouble focusing on the telecon I'm on right now...

My favorite controller, looking forward to switching out my dualshock 4. Not that the latter is bad though, both are great this gen.
