It's dumb on Atlus's part I guess, but what this highlights for me more than anything is how out of touch I am with what the gaming community wants. I've taken screenshots here and there, but it's not something I actively care about. It kind of blows my mind that someone would outright skip what seems to be a tremendous game just because it lacks social features.
Ill take that screenshot day 1 first chance I get.Lmao Atlus
I look forward to taking the P5 equivalent of this

So Remote Play is a no go? Can't play on my laptop while the PS4 is at home?
i'm very sorry, am writing a letter to Corporate Atlus JP in my blood begging forgiveness for cursing at them. hope they don't decide to cancel Persona 5, A Corporate Atlus Product, because of me.This adds to discussion
This doesn't.
That's vitrol
This is smart feedback
Not everyone, in the beginning there was good discussion and feedback, which as I've said is good and important. As threads like this go on, sense leaves and all that remains is meaninglessness. The sensible people leave early when it gets like this.
This is fine by me. Now I don't have worry about potential spoilers being shared to my What's New feed.
Do you take pictures every day in life?
How does that inform them to make meaningful change?

Let's be real: This probably isn't about spoilers. It's about copyright. A lot of Japanese companies are a lot stricter on copyright than their western counterparts are. Especially when it comes to music and voice acting. Even if you bypass the Share block, I would expect any videos you upload to YouTube to get flagged.
Even "Fuck Atlus, they should let us stream" is alright. Its passionate and might offend some and could derail a thread, but it attempts discussion. Some people didn't get that far.
This thread is actually meaningless and adds nothing to the product or discussions of the product. It can't force Atlus to do anything, much to the chagrin of many posters.
Edit:you added to your post I'm not ignoring it, 1 sec.
Crazy. My friend would have loved to see this in action before buying. Oh well.

Probably why they blocked it.
Now he'll never be able to find video of it on the internet.
this is some 1990s-Squaresoft-not-giving-review-copy-to-online-reviewers-because-they-thought-they-were-pirates type shit
just... heads in the sand
I just mentioned it to someone else that that one is even funnier since the game is also on PC, where you will find 0 issues taking a screenshot, even just through Steam.Berseria was annoying with this restriction too.
I love uploading screenshots to twitter.
Is it disabled from the beginning? Or you just can share the first hour of the game?
i hope the persona 5 OT isn't hit with a take down notice
What's with Japanese games and disabling the screenshot/share feature? All the Tales games do this too.
Is there some kind of cultural thing about sharing gameplay? Is it to prevent something? What is the actual reason for this?
atlus blocks share functions
someone says fuck atlus
"wow they are so happy that they want to engage in sexual intercourse with us!"
It's pretty shitty but won't factor into my enjoyment of the game.
I know right? Like I said I know tons of SMT/Persona fans who got into the series through GB's Endurance Run. Still others hopped on board with Persona 4 Golden cause of all the tumblr gifs and pics of new content like the costumes. Even fan comics like the Hiimdaisy comic serve to get people interested in the series. Now that I think of it, this definitely hurts sales. Especially in those circles where not everyone knows about what is happening in the gaming world.
There have been many instances of me sharing screenshots and videos of games with friends that have led to purchases.
A lot of those people would never have exposure unless someone shows them something directly.

This is basically free advertising that Atlus is missing out on. And at what cost? To keep those Persona virgins pure and unsoiled from Mara spoilers? I don't get it. Honestly.
I hate this. I wish PS4 had an update that changes this.It defeats the purpose of SharePlay. I think shareplay shouldn't be up to developers. it should be its own functions without the game dev. This is a huge feature for me and my friends. We always share games the day we get em and enjoy watching each other play a game, then it makes us get the game for ourselves. It's a feature that truly brings people together.
What if you had a really awesome moment and wanted to share it BUT OH WAIT.
This is Nintendo in a nutshell in how they've been testing YT.It's a combination of decision-makers who know absolutely nothing about modern trends or how the gaming industry functions outside Japan, corporate structures that actively silence the opinions of young employees, and a decades-old bias towards nonsensically draconian copyright policy all working together to produce this nonsense.
