Persona 5 Famitsu Details

Tons of new art on the page. Here's just a few of them.

Not sure if it was covered or mentioned but persona5.jp has been updated a bit. Disregard if old but along with the new text and images it says in the footer that all media has been from the PS3 version (believe this was also said in Famitsu)

Yeah, the website was updated on February 20th.

I didn't know that tidbit about the footer, though, thanks for that. So yeah, guess we haven't seen anything from the PS4 version, yet.

Persona 4 will be getting ported to PS4 right? I still haven't played it and want to.

Don't bet on it. Atlus have been asked the same thing for years and they're adamant about why P4G is on Vita and not on home consoles.

Get the vanilla version digitally. I think it's as good.

EDIT: The first line is likely wrong, but them already releasing P4 on PSN that's not the Golden version is probably a nail in the coffin.

Even the footage? Super cool. Can't wait to see what it looks like on PS4.

I know the initial plan was a 2015 release date (for Japan at least). Realistically though, are we expecting an early 2016 release for the US, best case scenario?

AtlusUSA themselves have said 2015, so it's best to still think that unless told otherwise. We'd know better once we get the JPN date probably, but who knows when that's going to happen.

Huh? Do you have a link for this?

I guess I was wrong. I could have sworn that's what they said in one of the interviews answering a very specific question, but I couldn't find it. Regardless, they did state that they wanted it to be on portables and Vita just happened to be the best one available at that time.

Not that it means anything but both P3 and P4 both came out in July in Japan.

It likely means nothing, since P4D is releasing on the last week of June, and that's also an internally developed game. I don't see them shipping both out in such a close timeframe.

Damn i liked the idea of the velvet room bein a means of moving to and from a place starting with 3, and it wouldve been cool if they kept that for 5

If you think P5 is going to get a surprise launch with little to no promotion, prior to P4D's release, I have just one thing to say to you:

So what you're saying is to expect an EU DAN release and massive Persona 5 marketing campaign all this month, right?

so what event are they waiting for to announce the release date? surely not E3?

A Japanese date will most likely be announced before a western date. That could come in a random info dump in Famitsu or Dengeki Playstation or it could happen in the exclusive footage that's going to be featured with P4D.

Why not? (in regards to the NA date)

If we're looking at a 3 month gap between JP and NA information, then I think it's unlikely that we see the release date at E3 since that's just three months away, especially when we haven't gotten confirmation of when it'll release in Japan.

Of course, E3 is a bit different than your standard blog post or whatever, but I don't see Atlus USA taking that big of a leap.

Why does there have to be a 3 month gap in info. There's no rulebook to this stuff. They could give us a trailer at E3 (could even be an English trailer of the one we just got) and slap the release date the end if they wanted to.

I'm not sure why we're looking at a 3-month gap of information.

Well crap. I wish the Vita had more titles I was interested in.

What kind of titles are you interested in?

JRPGs? The Vita is a haven for JRPGs, both Vita specific, and PSP and PS1 classics. The Vita library is painfully under-appreciated in general, however.

Anyway, I'm really hoping Persona 5 releases in the US this year.

But you're basing a trend/rule off of two data points, and that doesn't even apply to any release dates.

Yeah, it's not a trend at all, but the logical assumption is that the game would also release 3 months after the Japanese release.

If they're lining up information in that way then I don't see what's so wrong about predicting a 3 month lag.

When that's not been the case for any of their previous games, if we're looking at time intervals between Japanese announcements and NA announcements?
