Remaster? Maybe. Remake? Nooope. You'll get an upscaled PS4 port to mark the 15th anniversary in 2021. ATLUS and HD development of their major titles go about as well together as Capcom and good business decisions.

That doesn't say anything about why P3's dancing models will suddenly be used. Persona 3 already had two enhanced versions, what makes you think it'll get another especially since it would require ATLUS making a ground-up remake of the game? The dancing models, like P4's, are going to be kept to the game's they're in because HD development is difficult.

Atlus loves rehashing games. It has two enhanced versions, but neither are definitive, and neither are on modern platforms unless you really want to stretch and say P3P on Vita counts. They're going to be recreating the principal cast and iconic locations from the game in HD. That's a significant chuck already. And of course it'd use a whole bunch of P5's assets. The city stuff no doubt.

I'm not saying it's a lock or anything like that, but if there's any time and opportunity to bring P3 - a game they obviously want to keep relevant - into the modern era, this is it.

P3 fes also added more goofy light hearted stuff like the Elizabeth dates. I'm sure p5r will do the same for p5.

Yeah I know, but I don't think the Elizabeth dates are on quite the same level as the stuff added in golden. She already had a bit of a quirky personality in the original, so it wasn't that much of a stretch to add such dates.

I'm sure P5r will add some light-hearted stuff, but I'm not convinced it's going to be like the stuff in 4. Persona 4 was generally more light hearted even in it's original form anyway, that seems to be why people love it so much, the fun loving scenes between friends (personally I prefer the more serious tone of 3/5)

Is it weird that I'm hoping the fact they're releasing two games at once (and that the trailers both show the characters in their school uniforms) means they won't have any story? I'm kind of done with Atlus trying to cram even more stuff into canon that never accounted for the possibility of spinoffs (though I guess P5 is different in that regard).

I really really enjoyed P4D. I'll definitely buy P3, idk about P5 since it's OST isn't as poppy and the few jazzy remixes from P4D were my least favorite.
I might rebuy it in PS4 if it includes the Marie DLC song, love that one.

Given that they're dancing in locations from their existing games, rather than new stages like in P4D, I'm hoping that they cut out any form of story mode this time around. I'd much prefer that they focused on putting more actual game in this time - my main gripe with P4D was the brevity of the track list.

And put some original versions of songs in along with remixes please.

I recall that after P5 was released, they did a survey for Japanese fans in which they asked if they were interested in playing an hypothetical dancing game for P3, a dancing game for P5, a new Persona Q game, a new Persona Arena game and HD remakes for the P3, P2, P1 and PQ. If they were to take decisions based on that survey, it is likely that P3 Remake was the most voted choice out of all HD remakes. That survey showed us that they at least view remaking the old games for HD hardware a possibility.

Hmmm, I didn't know about that. I'd personally love a P3 Remake as I haven't actually completed it mainly due to me having started with P4:G; having to go back to no party control or deal with the VN style of P3 was too much for me.
