Which would be bullshit.
Minato not returning is why p3 is great. Having him return would be such a cop out.

I can deal if it's in a silly dancing spin off but not in the main story.

I think you could re-re-retcon and go with
what-would-have-been alternate conclusion to FES where Yukari+Mitsuru selfishly decided they wanted to revive him instead of save the universe and they're still locked in that one goddamn day.
That whole sequence was savagely depressing, but very dramatic.
 
I wonder if this means P3MC will finally get an official name.

Also I like how Makoto appears in the P5D trailer alongside the original four (well, counting Mona's voice). Guess Atlus is aware of her popularity lol
 
People may call it milking the cow but I have never seen such happy cows waiting to be milked.

Atlus is a masterclass in this.

They aren't absolute terms though?

People usually use the term in relation to 4(or now 5 I guess) games. It's certainly dark in comparison to Persona 4, which at its worst has some graphic death imagery.

Course anyone who has played Persona 1/2 or the other SMT games won't really agree it's that dark since it's kind of par for the course with the series.

While I'm not really interested in the actual dancing gameplay, the bits I heard from p3 Ost have been a great nostalgic punch to my stomach. That and their HD models looking really good. I might dig P3D because of that.

Not really feeling P5D so much, probably because the game and ost are so recent.

I was (kinda) expecting a mobile gacha game, so it's a step up!

But that's it though, it's not darker than Persona 4 is. People are just fooled by the colour pallette or msuic or have more of a memory of the goofy scenes in that game, but 3 is full of silly shit too. It's this weird pedestal the game has been put on for being dark that really baffles me.
 
I don't think Atlus making a Persona 3 remake is an impossible situation, but I have to wonder if they will try to change/enhance Tartarus.
I don't have problems with it personally, but I often read critics of it.

Also, I suppose P5D isn't related to that thread that was about a domain called P5R or something alike, doesn't it?
 
Hell yes!! Love the P3 cast, they look fabulous in HD here! Can't decide whether to go PS4 or Vita, maybe I'll double-dip. Shout-outs to Atlus for supporting the Vita, still the place to be for Persona.

A few people have speculated maybe the 3D models for P3 could be used for an HD remake -- is there any leak or anything out there that suggests this might happen, or are we just hoping?

Actually P4 had the worst characters and weakest OST out of the three, so I'm not sure why you are laughing...
 
Oh holy shit, ps4?! God damn, I am in for these in a big way then. My PSTV gives me trouble here and there and I don't wanna shell out for a vita. Hope the tracks come out a little better than the P4 version, they were alright but not as good as I was expecting.

Though P4 has a lighter tone on the surface, the story is actually darker,
there's a serial killer and it's not a demon, it's an actual human being and to top it off he's a cop and is literally just doing it for kicks. To me that's a hell of a lot darker than when it's some monster or demon.
 
So, they're going to have a discount bundle for both games right? Or are Atlus gonna charge full price for both? :(

Persona 3 is about a cult that is trying to bring about Armageddon and members willing to kill so that it happens...

Not when it comes to Atlus. People have been speculating mobile every single time they put out a tease for something, despite Atlus constantly saying in interviews that their most important titles are targeted for dedicated gaming platforms. It would take something drastic for that to change.

"the worst characters and ost that spawned enough popularity to create said spinoffs that the other two games are now doing" things like characters and music are subjective.
 
I wanted to say that I'm only in for P5 Dancing Star Night, but I actually liked the design of P3 characters so I may get that one as well. Though, I would've liked it more if these two were actually combined into one big $60 game.
 
I hope Altus actually improves the gameplay. I loved P4D and out 72 fucking hours into it but you'll never see me replay songs like Pursuing My True Self with Chie. That beatmap, among some others, was fucked.
 
I never thought P3 Dancing would happen because of how depressed everyone is, but I'm glad it ended up this way at least for some amazing new music.
