Konami have released the first batch of information about PES 2017. They list a number of improvements that you should expect to see in the latest iteration in the series:

Real Touch – See how different players control the ball in unique and different ways based on where and how you control them, dictating the flow of the game based on how they react to the unpredictable movement of the ball.

Precise Pass – Combining Real Touch and real ball physics, passing is an art form in PES 2017. Many factors determine the speed and accuracy of the ball. The pass that is made on the best situation and timing will generate a perfect trajectory, creating a great satisfaction when a killer pass is made.

Natural Player Movement – Hundreds of new animations have been added to bring the players and goalkeepers to life – but it doesn’t stop there. New features such as Real Touch and Precise Pass see huge benefit, giving a vast array of movements when trapping and passing the ball.

Goal Keeping – Keepers see a great jump in quality through added motions and animations, creating the most agile keepers in PES history. Attacking moments will be more dramatic than ever, bringing the best feeling of achievement when the goal is scored.

Total Team Control – Users can instantly change the attacking and defending mentality of the team, which can be tweaked and carefully controlled with simple controls, being able to immediately react to the unpredictability of the sport.

Advanced Instructions – Strategies that are quite individually defined such as Tiki-taka and heavy man-mark which is strongly based on team ideology can be set in “Advanced Instructions”, which adds a huge variety in how you plan to win.

Corner Kick Control – Control the defensive strategies on a set piece, such as marking zonal or man-marking. Offensive options are also included such as specific player movement.

Adaptive AI – For the first time in a football game, the AI will learn how you play! Player and team behavior has always been a staple of the PES series and for PES 2017 Adaptive AI will change sports games forever.

Authentic Visuals – For PES 2017 the visuals have seen a major upgrade, offering Authentic Visuals thanks to the further incorporation of Fox Engine. Nothing has been left untouched, from the player models, lighting, crowds, pitch and stadiums totally revamped. Never has a game looked so real.

Nice to see the awful 2016 goalkeepers being addressed. Them, and the pub league refereeing, ruined it for me.

2016 played well until you get in the box and take a shot. Konami need to be a bit more organised with sorting out the summer transfers this time around too. It was embarrassing how long it took them to get them right last year.

lets hope they dont screw pc gamers over this time, considering the full game last year was the ps3 port and the f2p version was the next gen one. they just have no idea how to do it right on pc.

Considering the shoe-string budget PES 2016 appeared to have, I'm not expecting much of these improvements.

Thankfully, PES 2016 was near-perfect already. A roster update will suffice.

They also said Kojima was on holiday.

Konami effectively bailed on all gaming except for Pachinko and PES. PES makes completely stupid amounts of money, especially in territories like South America where the teams are much better represented than with FIFA.

Hopefully the physics are improved, alongside more than one foul per match.

PES 2016 let's you get away with murder.

Heres hoping Konami keep putting money and marketing behind this. I preferred 2015 over 2016 (it was a bit too FIFA like in how you could strip down the gameplay) but both were solid titles...

Really wish it had FIFA skills layout and Clubs

I hated PES 2016 on PS4, I haven't played it on PC. Lets hope that PES 2017 is a better game (better keepers are a good start), and that the console version will be on PC too.

Konami putting money into a videogame? Unlikely.

Troll me once, shame on me.

Suggest PES has been shit for the last 8 years, shame on you.

2016 was decent with crap that breaks the game, retarded keepers, blind referees, super ultra R2 shot, super duper L1 + Triangle passes and of course the awful scripting, especially after scoring/conceding a goal

Well they made a whole engine for it ;)

And with myClub part going F2P I presume they made some money from the MTs. With Konamis withdrawal from gaming keeping PES around must be for a decent reason...

Every football game ever has flaws. Ease up on the hyperbole :)

I hope the game improves a lot from 2016. I liked 16 demo and f2p versions and all, but they weren't good enough for me to buy it.

Goalkeepers HAVE to get better, maybe it is my number one issue. Another issue I have(idk if the fixed it), I think the AI is not aggressive enough without the ball, but too effective with the ball...in 15 I had a bunch of matches with my team having 60-65% possession but the AI always scored in the one or two chances they created.

Goal celebrations repeating over and over are kinda boring too, but just a minor issue I have.

Make like NBA 2k and let people share their updates/rosters online through the game, please.

And bring back the OG Master League team! I miss Castolo and Ordaz.

Fuck that, these games are just too low budget to be able to compete with FIFA. For everything they do right, they do about 5 basic things wrong.

Not being fooled again this year, especially as I no longer bear Konami any good will.

That was a pretty accurate post. The keepers, refs and shooting are all bad, and spoil the game. FIFA isn't perfect, but it doesn't have any really obvious issues like PES.

Far too many games end with cricket scores. Its fun in multiplayer, but it spoils the realism in single player.

What? Fifa 16 is an attrocious game compared to PES 2016. The worst gameplay I've seen in a Fifa game in a long time. PES has trumped Fifa the past 2 years.

The game should really be judge on MyClub for starters (talking in general). Too many variables alter the game for better and worse.

Refs and keepers to an extent along with pass assistance are the main issues with 2016 IMO
