Exactly. Never played the original but two hardcore fans (Ken Lobb, Adam Isgreen) are involved in this new endeavor. That alone should serve as a good sign that Phantom Dust is in good hands.

You should watch some Let's Plays on YouTube to see what it's like. Personally it's not my sort of thing, but I guess Futatsugi isn't going to make another Dragoon-like after Crimson Dragon...

I'm super excited for this. I'd actually imported a crystal Asian Xbox when it was released there and there was no news of it coming out in the states. It stands as one of the best designed games of all time in my book, and that it never got a wide audience is super sad because it really deserved one. Probably going to load up my xbox copy on my 360 here soon.

Watched the trailer so many times today. The standoff and the music fade in is awesome every time.

To be fair, KI is a sequel. It is effectively KI3, not a remake. I still think a "remake" of Phantom Dust is amazing though. It's a game that is still pretty much unlike any other game that very few people gave a chance. It deserves to be given another chance.

For those who don't know PD, it's an arena combat action game and card game. Yes, you build decks, shuffle through them and get skills that map to your 4 buttons to kick arse with in TPS action battles.

Thanks for these. I never played the first and never really knew a lot about it before today but watching these and knowing the original guy is behind it, I'm all in. Looks creative and different.

iirc Majesco was the one who published it in the US, but MS completely screwed us in Europe..

I can't wait for this. I managed to snag a copy of Phantom Dust back in 2006 and play in on my 360. Game was awesome but MP was dead. Can only imagine what a full multiplayer community would be like with this game.

Whatever they end up calling it I doubt it will be exactly the same as the original. They aren't gonna just HD port the game.

It really was the trouble is tons of people missed out on it when it came out on the original xbox if it had happened to be a debut xbox game it would probably be huge,lol. It's one of the most unique games around MS just has to do a good proper job at pimping it out to the people who don't know about it.

EDIT - I had no idea this game exited until today. I thought it was a fighting game based on the trailer. Glad to see it's a free-roaming game. I think so anyway.

The battles were like a fighting game, more like a larger scale power stone 1.

(At least the little I played of the game reminded me of that, I just played once on a friend's house)

the good thing is they seem to have a few of the better devs from MS joining the team, so I don't think it'll be as mid-tier as crimson dragon with assumingly Ken lobb overseeing things on the game as well

To be fair, it started as a Kinect game on the 360, and then moved to the Bone.

PD is his favorite. Its on record that hes been fantasizing about a sequel for years. He won't fuck this up.
