Yeah that sounds possible but theres a portion of Xbox fans that were confident with the brand because it represented power, this was lost with X1 and imo made people lose faith with their product, i see Scorpio trying to recoup that and then build upon it. I did not expect Pro to sell so 'moderately', so you make a good point.
Indeed and i get that, im particularly upset with the loss of a Kamiya AAA game - but a new console is on the horizon I dont think MS would push to make the most powerful console without planning a bunch of games that take advantage of it, that defies reason. If they have Phil will go as thats just a catastrophic error in judgement that is unacceptable at that level, i mean your employed to know these sort of things.
The issue is a new console doesn't fill the void of whats actually more important which is software. Xbox wouldn't even need a new console as sales for Pro show that even without it the PS4 would have still sold extremely well during the holidays maybe even more prior if people didn't know about it.
Xbox needs software and varied software at that and all this time according to some insiders here on gaf they've pissed away the changes they made along the way. All those cuts and changing the OS, adding features for gaming, lower prices a smaller more sleak awesome looking console doesn't mean dick if you dont have games people are excited for, and they have straight up been failing like no ones business in that regard.
Sony this year is eating their lunch straight up, and soon Nintendo will too. If Nintendo comes out swinging which I think they will, Microsoft and it's fanbase are in for a rude awakening.
Their chance to come back was last couple years, and they failed miserably. Their chance was when Nintendo was failing hard with Wii U to put out new software, but they went right back to the same old troupe of Forza, gears and halo and then whenthey do have something like titanfall and sunset they let it just float away like a fart in the wind.
No people aren't just upset, people are genuinely using this as a chance to stuff up any type of meaningful discussion revolving around Xbox in general.
Go look at the comments in the Halo Wars 2 Blitz beta video on the Xbox youtube channel.
This is just another opportunity to get in some blows while the opponent is vulnerable for a LOT of posters, many of them evident in this very thread.
Scalebound's cancellation is just a trojan horse, an conveniently timed excuse. For every post that's meaningful about Microsoft's current, seemingly baleful trajector, you have 3 more from people simply interested in spewing console war nonsense.
Hell, even in the new Horizon trailer, folks are still finding an excuse to bring up Scalebound. If you believe that all of this "outrage" is completely genuine, I have a bridge I'd like to have a word with you about over PM.
The same Don Mattrick who bought a Lamborghini and lived in a multi-million dollar mansion? Definitely a man of the people, let me tell you.
You're insistence that people stop blaming Mattrick is beginning to veer very severely into the opposite direction.
Though I'm glad Halo wars got a sequel it's still a game based on a franchise, it does look tits and im awaiting for how it runs on PC, but if yo can't see how we are upset that Microsoft is form the outside looking like the tale end of 360 then I dont know what to tell you.
ARE PEOPLE like myself over acting maybe, probably, but it's not without merit in what has been an ongoing problem for them.
