I write about my life in Japan at http://www.nomaday.com ! It runs on wordpress which has been just fantastic for this kind of thing and has all sort of options. Using a pre-made theme with some widgets on the side and the instant debate commenter thing. Have enjoyed poking through the other blogs on here.

Its been a while since I posted mine, so it should be fine to do it again

http://xgarcia.blogspot.com/

I update it once or twice a week. Mostly post about new art I make (2D and 3D) with the occasional ramble about videogames n' shit.

I'm looking for a plugin and I can't find one. I'm trying to think of what the hell this would be called, but I can't think of it. Basically, I'd create a post that's a little blog within the blog.

It'd look like this:

POST

1/4/2010 5:55 PM
New Stuff

1/3/2010 1:11 AM
Old Stuff

I basically want to be able to do journals of game playthroughs. But I can't think of how I'd do this.

I'm really not one for self promotion, even in threads that demand it, but I figure I'll link my stupid as shit site:

http://kritz.net

It combines my love of games with my hatred of game journalism. Site was created between me and a guy what I know over the internet. I did most of the CSS and overall graphical design, he did the php and mysql and all the stuff that actually takes work. I'm very proud of it, from the garish orange background to the low budget MS Paint banners to the amazingly complicated comment system to the pretentiousness of the site content itself.

The site has become a wonderful outlet for all the silly stuff my mind conjures up without needing to worry that I sound very questionably sane or the fact that the target audience for the site's contents is the same person that writes it.

No one actually reads anyone else's posts in here, do they? "/

Haha. I'm just frustrated, because I found something but it displays the time like 03.20 for 3:20. First it's not displaying the time right, but secondly, who the hell writes time like 03.20?

Didn't you do those beer reviews at some stage? Or was that another AusGAF guy?

Yeah that was me, but it never really worked the way I imagined it would. Even while completely plastered I'm too serious. It just wasn't entertaining.

5/5 Beers for effort, though.

Thanks dude. For what it's worth I think you're very creative, which is why I wanted us AusGAF guys to combine powers and see what we could come up with. And to be honest without your creative input I couldn't see it resulting in what I envisaged so I shelved the idea.

I'm still looking at getting something else going myself though, besides my Gamasutra blog.

If it helps I think you're a super smart writing man and I'd love to do some less "oh god this sentence has become a gigantic bolder of unexplainable words and it's heading straight for the part of your mind that handles common sense" writing.

While this may be more suited for the AusGAF thread so we aren't shitting up the tradition of nobody replying to anyone else's posts thing that's currently going on here, it wouldn't be too impossible for the writers of AusGAF to secretly start this project and that way if it fails (which it will!) nobody will notice and we won't have to add it to the list of shit AusGAF aren't very good at doing.

But keep in mind I am always the biggest critic of anything I work on, which is why I've been so negative on it starting in the first place. :P

I'm glad I'm making this post in the year 2010 where private messages haven't been invented yet, or else this post would look mental to anyone besides you, Mar.

Now it's getting awkward. This can only be solved by fighting, hot man sex, or all of the above.

You already know my answer.

Think Man vs Food meets food blog plus America. The America part is mostly tongue in cheek though. Red, White and Fat!. You can also follow us on facebook here!. We are a young site and I'd love your support.

We haven't updated in quite a while due to summer (one of us has been in DC the entire time) but we have a silly podcast/blog deal about games and stuff, I don't know.
http://3bitpodcast.wordpress.com/

Our current (filler) banner basically sums us up. :lol

edit: I should say we're huge on hearing feedback from those who listen, no matter how constructive or destructive it is.

I didn't know this topic existed.

Meh it's nothing much. I was working on an indie e-magazine but I lost contact with the guy who wanted me to make it. I just decided to publish the interviews for the magazine anyway since the guy I hired for a template was taking his sweet time I much prefer posting my stuff around the same time it happens rather than wait for and create annual content.

It sort of died this year though. Not much I'm interested in and none of the people who wanted to write for the blog have been consistent. I'm trying to get it back to being somewhat useful.

Oh it's just another generic video game blog but I try to do follow-up stories as well not bother posting info that has already been mentioned by much bigger sites. The blog also has a forum (one of those cheap free ones) that's run by basically one guy. He's awesome for both improving the main site, despite being limited in features due to it being free, as well as improving the forums. Lol if I ever stopped doing the blog stuff I'd give it to him.

Still not sure what the website will turn into, but right now its just a look at nerdy things with a different slate.

I recommend checking out the Elixir Mixer, which is just drink recipes with an adventure.

Or Nostalgia with a Twist, which reviews TV shows based solely on the intro/music.

I did cultural studies essays on here for a while, which you can find if you dig back, but now I'm turning it into a film review blog. The goal is to review a movie a day for the next year. So far I've been kind of spotty but I think I've only missed one day and that's because I had to leave the theater because of crazy people chewing everything from gum to their cell phones in my ear.

need a little input and this seems like a good thread. im thinking about changing my audio player and want a little feedback. visit this link and let me know which of the two you prefer

Huge fan of the top one. I think it always looks neater, and like how it expands/collapses when playing/paused.

And its the one we use on our site so yeah.

Since this thread happens to be around, I might as well post a link to my blog: http://www.platypotamus.com

I blog about games (mainly), trying to do it a bit more from a developer's perspective, so not really doing much in the ways of reviews really. Sometimes post links to random game related things as well. Latest two blog posts were me observing the townsfolk in RDR as I'm interested in what other devs do for immersion, and me trying to play Minecraft without reading any instructions to see how intuitive it was.

EDIT: forgot to answer goldenticket: I like the topmost one better in terms of appearance, but would not generally be browsing on an iPhone or anything, so my opinion might be moot there. What do your tracking stats show as far as readers using those platforms? If you have a big enough section of folks doing so, then it's probably worth it regardless, right?

thanks for the input playspotamus. yeah i like how the top one looks too but if the bottom one can be used in more areas shouldnt i rock that one? i dont have a ton of folks who use iphone to visit the site but ive never published the mobile version because the audio doesnt work on it. but myself if i visit a site on my iphone or i use reader i prefer having the audio work rather then having to wait to visit in on a computer or leave reader. so if i went with the second one i would try to push the mobile one more.

im still on the fence about this and looking for more opinions
