Yeah, another video game blog and it's still new with only four posts. But I wanted to write about nostolgia and my past experiences with video games when growing up and also re-living them again through the eyes of my boy. I also want to jot down some stuff that he does that is video game related, stuff like the last post I put up today.

I finally found some time to update the automated feed filters on my video game news aggregator site:

http://www.gameboar.com - a glutton for video game news

The site automatically updates 24/7 with content from the major gaming news sources.

There's so much more that I want to do with it too but finding the time is almost impossible at the moment.

If you have suggestions for content sources, I'd like to hear them.

Myself and fellow gaffer Dacvak are the team behind Piki Geek.

http://blog.pikimal.com/geek

As well as the Piki Geekcast (our new podcast).

http://pikigeek.buzzsprout.com/1861/15025-piki-geekcast-episode-02

You guys should check it out, we actually end up talking about GAF topics from time to time. The blog's main focus is general geek, so tech, games, gadgets and such. We're part of a company called Pikimal, who are launching a new search engine looking to lay the smack on Google.

The blog is pretty slim for now, but I'm adding features daily and we're in the early stages of daily content planning.

Been awhile since I pimped mine in here, and I've recently done a redesign as well:

The Adventure Blog

Still my main place to write, but I've no parlayed it into paid writing gigs for travel site Gadling.com, I contribute to the Huffington Post, have a regular column in an outdoor magazine in Australia, and recently had a piece published on the National Geographic Adventure website.

All in all, not bad considering my humble beginnings. :)

Hi, dudes. I got a part time job for an Android blog, and am also starting to do it more on the personal side. I'm going to be fitting writing in between other things, so I need to get acquainted with public WiFi, specifically in NYC, which I've never really used before.

I was hoping to get some tips: what are some of the places you feel comfortable to sit in and write? Is there any fee or hassle involved in using WiFi at Barnes & Nobles or Starbucks, etc.?

Thanks for this and any other advice you want to offer.

To say it needs polish would be quite the understatement. It's also light on original content right now, but I've got several pieces in the oven.

If anyone with adsense experience can help me make that damn block more relevant 100% of the time I'd really appreciate it.

My wordpress blog got nuked by a virus last year, lost everything. Started a tumblr to post jokes/rants because I missed writing. Only three posts so far, just started last week. Most recent isn't very joke heavy but the other two are.

Think Nuggets

http://www.protocolsnow.com/ -- Just a personal site focused on the things that interest me, updated far less likely than I would like. I'm a medical student but I don't talk about school as much as I should. Lately I've been trying to learn photography so I try to make quality photos a key component of the site.

Crazy crazy work and coworker stories blog. Despite strong feelings that people can not be this dumb, all of the stories are real 100% and usually posted right after they happened. From a forum thread on another gaming board.

A pal put it together for me and we started posting shit that was happening.

geniuswrangler.blogspot.com

I've created a new "blog" called The Monoverse. Its supposed to end up being some sort of sci-fi epic story, but i only have one or two actual stories up. the other articles are just background information that future stories will be based on.

the main page is

http://monoverse.squackle.com

i'd appreciate any comments people may have about the site in general, or the concept or anything really, since its a new idea for me and something ive been working on a bit recently.

Haven't pimped this in a while. Write ups and downloads for out of print and mostly eccentric music; musings on film, literature and art posts as well. Just got my 3000th hit for the month, woohoo.

If you like what you see/hear/read, be sure you follow...I try to update as frequently as my time allows.

Not exactly a blog, but I didn't know if this would be appropriate to post anywhere else...

Hey guys, I am participating in an event on March 26th called St. Baldricks, taking place at a local firehouse. Basically, I am raising money to help fight children's cancer by shaving my head to show my support. My stated goal is 50$, but I'd really like to double that, so anyone that wants to help me reach that goal or go further can donate at this link:
http://stbaldricks.org/participants/borman

Simply click Make a Donation, where you can either donate towards myself, towards our event, or towards the foundation itself. Last year, our local firehouse raised over $30,000, and we're hoping we can beat that this year. Thanks for taking a look :)

So I thought about posting my blog as well, but I figured that it will be over looked do the high amount of dead links in this thread. To give my post some credence, I have gone though the first 100 posts and found which blogs have been updated recently.

Finally there is me The Game at home dad.

I'm thinking of rolling this post into an OT and including some of the advice and descriptions that were listed with the active blogs. Would anyone be interested in seeing that?

Absolutely.

Also, congrats to everyone who's kept their blog alive all this time. It's not always an easy thing to do!

Mine always stagnates when I'm working :(

I killed the one seen on the first page ages ago. Got another now, which has been neglected since getting a steady job (used to freelance, so I had miscellaneous days/weeks off). I've got a giant stack of unfinished drafts waiting to be tackled.

I'm slowly in the process of refocusing I Miss Bionix from anime themed to just what ever I'm interested in + anime in Canada. That is simply a content issue as if I were to be anime-exclusive I'd go months without updates.

Now, with that said, I'm also interested in buying a domain and all that stuff so that I'm no longer hosted as a .wordpress.com site. How does one get to doing that? I'm very unfamiliar with these things, so pardon my ignorance. Is it easy to transfer things over?

Also, as it stands my forum is a separate Invision powered forum. I know of the MyBB software to integrate forums into my blog (though, I'm not allowed to do that on a .wordpress.com site) but can I import the Invision memberships, and posts into MyBB? While the community is small, there are some news that isn't posted anywhere else and I'd like to keep that.

Hey. I want to blog. What is the best blog site to start doing this? I was thinking about joining Facebook (I know I'm probably the only person without a page), but then I thought instead of dealing with all that, I would just blog. How do people find out about your blog?

http://biggersplashes.blogspot.com/

Recent blog updates include Nam June Paik's Global Groove, A.R.E. Weapons electro punk masterpiece, post modern art from Colin McCahon, a bonafied JAM from Malcolm McLaren, my thoughts and summary on Hal Hartley's Henry Fool, some Carl Sagan love, illustrations by Shawn Reed, my somewhat lengthy praising of MBV's Loveless, and finally a guest post by good friend Chris Piercy on Cassavetes' debut, Shadows.

Hey GAF! I've been working on a music blog for the past week or so, and it's been really fun so far. I'm hoping that I could get some feedback if any of you guys have some free time to spare. Thanks GAF.

I hope, in the reasonably short-term, to start producing something more of a research blog, centred on 18th and 20th century literary and scholarly culture, but I decided to preliminarily cast a diary from this year's Oxford Literary Festival out upon the waters of the internet. I hope to nudge my motives for publication from the strictly egotistical into more noble fields, but there you go.

Your academic background clearly shows. Beautifully written, although I hope your next blog post will be under 30,000 words lol. Makes me wonder how long your dissertation was/will be

Cheers. I was without internet for much of the holiday. If I hadn't written something, I would have gone mad.

Dissertation has to come in over 80,000 and under 85-90,000. No wiggle room there.

I find it impressive that you were able to write 30 odd pages from a stream of consciousness. Puts us all to shame, as we'd just turn on the games console

At long last I've got the redesigned http://www.gameboar.com online.

It still aggregates gaming news from around the web but now it uses nifty features of HTML5.

I've dropped support for ie6, ie7 and ie8, they just made development far too painful.

Oh and I've added a blog too where I'll be covering Front End Web Development and Indie Game Development.

The new theme took quite a bit of work, I hope you like it.

http://thepipevault.com/

Pretty standard gaming blog, only been at it a few days and I'm still trying to find my "niche" as it were, but I'm going to keep at it. Been enjoying it and hopefully I'll be able to get some regular visitors over the next few months.

New post about the Jews!

Good post. Will follow.

Could have brought in Eliot's apprehension about the presence in and influence on English society of a "large number of freethinking Jews". I think that was in the main just rank Christian bigotry, though. It remains eyecatching language, though - to object to free-thinking.

I was considering posting more generally about the contribution of Jews not just to Christian society but to Muslim society, but I figured I would keep it short, sweet and on-topic.

Thanks for the compliments, am trying to post every so often, after my intro there was like a month lol.
