*Starts Planetside 2*
But I had a right old blast trying - after 3 or so hours I was getting my head round it but by God does it not really bother explaining anything to you.
.
.
Turned it off buzzing - haven't had that in a game for a while.
Went with Conglomerate, Ceres (I think).
Oh good. People joining Ceres and going with TR or NC. I guess we VS might as well just pack it up and go home now. Sigh.
Anyway, as your new-ish, I thought I'd give you some random tips.
Infiltrators can hack consoles that spawn vehicles and weapons. You can use your cloak to sneak into an enemy base and flip the vehicle spawn and get yourself and instant tank or whatever and stop the enemy from using them.
Medics can be really helpful to the guys in the front. However, upgrade the Medics tool asap. It makes life much easier for you if you can get people up in a flash. Also use your class ability to heal yourself and people around you.
Engineers. Don't forget your turrets. Even if you don't get tons of kills they can really disrupt an enemy advance.
Upgrade your repair tool fast. If you have deployed a Sunderer and you are another class remember you can use the Sunderer to quickly change to an Engineer, repair it and then change back.
Heavy. You can upgrade the amount of rockets you can carry. Nice. You can equip vehicle grenades and C4. Both are good damaging MAX soldiers.
If you are a heavy your team need you to take down vehicles and MAX guys. This eats through ammo quickly. Fortunately you can resupply everything including grenades by going to a weapon console or Sunderer and choosing redeploy.
Sunderers are awesome. But very very very slow. Fortunately there are speed upgrades available.
If you choose to stick with its starting weapons that's fine. But upgrade the ammo capacity on both turrets. It's not actually that expensive.
You can switch positions in the Sunderer including the turrets by pressing X.
You can deploy the Sunderer to become a mobile spawn point for your team by pressing Triangle. You can only do it when it says 'deploy' under the Sunderer damage indicator - you can't do it inside a radius of the enemy base (shown on the minimap) and you can't do it too near to another deployed Sunderer. If you want your Sunderer to be a useful spawn point try to park it creatively. Find somewhere as close to the enemy as possible, because long hikes to the enemy waste valuable seconds, but hopefully obscured from view - behind some rocks or hidden under a building. If your team has a Sunderer already near a capture point see if you set your Sunderer near one of the others. It'll split the enemies attention and confuse their defence as you will be spawning from all sides.
In bases with generators you can destabilise them by standing near them and holding Square at the prompt. If the generator is not repaired it explodes and drops the vehicle shields which allows your team to roll the tanks in.
Mending generators is done the same way.
If you get killed and no one revives you then auto spawn is useful - especially if you just want to spawn at your own Sunderer.
If you use the normal spawn though you will get the chance to choose to spawn at any of your team mates Sunderers if you wish.
Remember to use the spot function. It makes it that bit easier to see your targets and helps to stop them sneaking up on your team mates.
