Looking forward to checking out the oppo.
I'm planning on buying the B6 next month. When I do google searches I notice that some places have very low prices. Places like east coast TVs or TV superstores. Can any of these places be trusted? Can someone recommend a good place to buy for a good price. Thanks
I'll respond to the other points when I've got more time. But also how on earth is the firmware part speculation? It's the exact same file for the C6 and E6!!Bolded is misinformed/speculation, in that order.
Cleaner image is due to panel lottery, better near-black performance is too, and B6 is actually often (again, panel lottery) brighter due to the panel not having the additional layer needed for 3D.
The firmware part is speculation, as is the theory that C6 and E6 share a SoC but the B6 does not. The difference in input lag is still unexplained, unfortunately. There's no real logic to it. For instance, 4K HDR input lag is still superior on the B6.

Ha, that's cool. Hadn't seen that confirmed before. Many experts on AV websites were stumped about the difference in input lag etc. and everything about the SoC was just speculation.Yeah it's not a 'theory' at all - the E6 and C6 share the same SoC as seen in this parts list here: https://www.encompassparts.com/item/10733874/LG/EAN63846302/Display_Soc,digital_Tv
The B6 uses a different one which it shares with the LG H7700 LCD

You can use the E6 file for the C6? That's great! Still, many of your other points are down to panel lottery instead of inherent differences in the set.I'll respond to the other points when I've got more time. What? That has nothing to do with what I'm saying. This is known for awhile now. And, as explained before, there are still no reliable numbers on the input lag. Right now the only chance is to talk to people who tried the different sets, and thus far everyone agrees, that its lower on the C6/E6.
This is also a myth, debunked awhile ago. At first people assumed LG would handpick the panels for the G6, and the ones not making the cut would be used for the E6. The reason was, that the early problems found with some models didn´t come up as often on the G6, so people speculated. By now enough sets are in the wild to show, that the defective rate is about the same over the model spectrum, but higher than on LCD sets, as its still a rather new technology.
What? That has nothing to do with what I'm saying.
I was saying that differences in near-black quality and brightness between C6 and B6 are down to getting a better panel by luck, and not a structural difference between the C6 and B6. There's been other reported instances of the B6 having the brightest panel, and of the C6 having more near-black issues.
Also, I'm not disputing that input lag is generally lower on C6/E6 so I'm not sure what you're reacting to there.
I'm sorry, then I misunderstood you. The panels should be the exact same between the models, the only differences are under the hood. That there are still variances in brightness and blacklevels is down to the manufacturing of the OLEDs, they´ll never be uniformly the same, and its not down to what model you buy.
Not to you personally, I'm just repeating that there are sadly still no tests on the real numbers.
LeEco is releasing the uMax85, an 85-inch 4K TV which features HDR both HDR10 and Dolby Vision and speakers created in partnership with Harmon Kardon. LeEco will also offer three different versions of its Super4 TV line in the US, the X43 Pro, X55, the X65. The Super4 line of TVs also support 4K, but LeEco hasn't said whether the sets will support both HDR formats.
I just did a bunch of research myself cause I'm about to buy a C6 and it seems like most of those places have various little scams that they pull. Like calling you up after you complete your order to upsell you, telling you that the TV you just ordered is out of stock, or that even though they list it as free shipping you have to pay several hundred dollars in "shipping insurance" or else it will take a handful of extra weeks to arrive. Sometimes they send used sets, damaged sets, other region models without warranties, no sets, etc.
I wish they were legit, hell someone tell me a trustworthy place that I can get a great deal on an OLED65C6P, cause I want one bad and the wait for BF is killing me. What I'm doing is waiting till BF, and if no great deals happen I'll go with one of the equally shady seeming Amazon sellers for the set that have a perfect seller rating and established seller history, and hope that the Amazon A-Z guarantee covers me in case of any shenanigans.
Cleveland Plasma is an outstanding vendor. They have a heavy presence on AVS Forum and their reputation precedes them.I just took delivery of a 65C6 from Cleveland AV. I also had previously purchased my plasma TV from them in 2009. Chris there is great, good price, easy shipping and no BS. I highly recommend them if you are looking to cut out a retail price and not pay tax (unless you're an Ohio resident). chris@clevelandplasma.com or call him at 866-651-0049.

How are they able to sell these TVs at a lower cost than traditional retailers like Best Buy and Amazon?

I'd say you should do more reading up on Vizio. They are trying very hard to shed their "Wal-Mart brand" status. And they're making great gains, too! Trust me, you're not the only one shocked.
I wish that they uploaded the comparison images in a larger size. The current size they upload them in makes them practically useless.Seeing as this threads become a defacto oled thread ;-)

Sorry if it's been posted but I don't think it has.

I think the review does a really good job of talking about the strengths and weaknesses.

I was wandering down a hallway and a boxed one of these is sitting at work. Trying to figure out where we gonna set it up, as I want to play with it.
As an OLED TV owner, the ZD9 actually sounds very impressive for an LCD TV.
Price is crazytown though.
The 75" can be had for just £5k. I can grab the 65" for £3k. It's pretty reasonable. Retailers should be able to match those deals it's pretty much in line with Panasonic 902B.As an OLED TV owner, the ZD9 actually sounds very impressive for an LCD TV.

Input lag sounds a bit sluggish though, also pretty much a given, that you will get some DSE which doesn't lend itself well to gaming.

What did it cost you?
For those with an LG OLED, what can u tell me about HDR gaming. I just ordered one. Any info would be appreciated. Basically I'd like to know about the setup. Does it automatically detect HDR or are there any settings that need to be changed for it to work properly? Any recommendations on what to look for or avoid? Thanks.

So I did a weird test using PSVR...Input lag sounds a bit sluggish though, also pretty much a given, that you will get some DSE which doesn't lend itself well to gaming.
I've been playing loads of HDR games on the B6 and it feels virtually identical to using game mode with standard content.
There are three unique options for HDR - do not select the top one of the three as it forces dynamic contrast.
Awesome. Do the modes pop up when u start gaming on HDR or do u have to go into a setting to change things manually?
Same on all models, yep.If it's like the E6 (which it should be) the TV will switch to your preferred HDR mode automatically when it detects HDR content. It'll then switch back to whatever mode it was in previously when you go back to standard content.
However, given that the HDR mode is a separate mode, any video setting tweaks on your "standard" mode won't automatically carry over to the HDR mode. You'll have to tweak it manually to set it up to your liking the first time the HDR mode is enabled.
It's sony's price to staff and wholesale/retail. Haven't seen any deals for costumers for that but realistically, retail margins are about £2k is what I'm saying for this set.Where at? I had a look at Richer Sounds' website and the 75" was £7k. :s

I would love to hear your impressions on it given you have a lot of experience with the LG OLED, and could compare the two based on that experience.I was wandering down a hallway and a boxed one of these is sitting at work. Trying to figure out where we gonna set it up, as I want to play with it.

Need your help guys!
I just bought a samsung ks8000 after it seems to have had great reviews but i've got an issue. The picture seems very pixelated in game mode on my consoles, even after adjusting settings and turning off most 'enhancments'.
Adjusting the options manually in standard mode (turning off enhancements) while leaving digital clean view on seems to make the picture crystal clear however this enables the lag. Is there any way around this?
