What was happening? few times I have had someone say "It's messing up, wait it is fine!"
No real settings on the web app, though, so not much I can do. Lame.

It was just choppy, but I refreshed a couple times and it was fine.

Well that was awful. Wonder what the hell happened. Really wish there was an OS X client for Procaster.

If anyone decides to play any RPGs PS2 era and up, i'd like to watch, pm me or just post here i guess.
That's the thing with me. I want to play some RPGs, but I don't really want to go back and play something that I've already beaten (you know, to show how awesome I am :lol ), and I don't want to play a new RPG and just have people watching me stumble around for a bit while I get everything figured out.

And while I love Persona, I'm nowhere near as meticulous as Red Scarlet in my demon fusing and whatnot. I'm good at the game, don't get me wrong, but I'm not that OCD in getting perfect demons.

Hm. Let's see. What should I play next? Here's a list of my PS2 RPGs:
Breath of Fire: DQ (Beaten)
Dragon Quest VIII (Beaten)
FFX (Beaten)
FFX-2 (Beaten)
FFXII (Beaten)
Kingdom Hearts (Beaten)
Nocturne (Beaten)
Digital Devil Saga 1/2 (Beat 1, At last dungeon in 2, Hard mode)
Xenosaga 1-3 (Beaten)
Wild ARMs 3-4 (Beat 3, haven't played 4)
Wild ARMs ACF (First time at Photosphere)
Star Ocean 3 (Beaten)
Persona 3/4 (Beaten)
Romancing SaGa (Beaten)
Unlimited Saga (hahahaha)
Radiata Stories (Still pretty close to the beginning, wasting time recruiting)
Raidou 1 (Near the beginning)

I have other games of course, but as for RPGs, I think this is it (Not at home atm).

Dont want someone to play something theyve already beaten and dont want to replay. But i'd be willing to watch if they wanted to, especially Persona, never played that so everything would be new to me.

How about old school games like Gradius, Contra, Sonic/Mario, Mega Man. I'd like to watch those if any of you guys play those.

Even more recent titles would be cool. Shooters like COD or Halo or SFIV.

FYI, if you guys haven't heard over at thespeedgamers.com, they are running a weeklong marathon of all Final Fantasy games for Autism Care and Treatment. So far they've raised over $30,000. It's amazing.

EDIT: Feenix29, the same guys are also doing a Mega Man marathon Aug. 14.

^^^

Thanks for the link, watching now, theyre playing FFIX.

Feels weird watching it coz its running so smooth compared to the couple of times ive tried watching some games from here :lol
JK guys, i know its not your fault and youre trying to make it work so let me know when it does and ill watch.

Yeah, I've been debating doing a Mega Man Marathon by myself. I did a test run of Mega Man 1-7 + 9 and came out with about 1:00-1:30 for each game, with 43:21 for Mega Man 9, and I think Mega Man 7 took a little longer. Maybe one of the days this weekend I'll bust out Mega Man 1-9, and then maybe do Mega Man X1-6 later.

Sporadically casting, but my channel finally got approved because I recorded enough over the past few weeks to put on my Auto-pilot + Library.
Yay.

I need some new games to cast... I picked up Persona 3: FES and P4 yesterday but I doubt I'll be streaming them, seeing as how these are my first Persona games since the very first and I'm certain I'll be doing stupid things that will have some viewers (Kioku and Scarlet, really) saying "what a noob" or something along those lines. lol

I'd be more of the 'you need some help?' type, but if playing games in person with people that never have played it before, I'd wind up saying 'oh you can do this to own the game' and probably ruin it.

I might play Left 4 Dead with Mutfox later and try to stream that..:lol
After P4 I might give DQ8 or 4 a try, but I don't know.

All right, give me a few minutes and I'm going to try to finish off the rest of SotC.
Probably do the Mega Manathon this weekend.
Might move to P3 later...I've always wanted to beat Hard Mode...:)

Per Fenix's request: link.

EDIT: You know...I hate when I haven't played a game for awhile, and I forget one key detail about an enemy. Take the stupid turtle/geyser colossus. Those beams he shoots? Yeah, forgot you needed to be on Agro to dodge them. Sigh.

Somone was saying how the stage select screen in DKC looked okay and then it hit me this morning when I woke up.
Duh, that's slow.
Duh, the default setting is 13FPS.
I upped it to 25 (the max) and am back on at http://www.livestream.com/revenantkioku if anyone wants to tell me how it looks this time.

Guess it is still shitty. FUCK. There has got to be a way to broadcast on a Mac, what is this shit.

Well, there is really no logical way to broadcast from a Mac to Livestream. That's pretty fucked.

This is cool. Watching SoTC. Why don't you guys use JTV?
I just tried JTV and UStream. Shitty on both of them.

I really enjoyed Mario Marathon 2 (although I unfortunately didn't hear about it until the last couple of days), so I'm sure I'd enjoy watching a GAF stream too, so long as it's more than just one person.

How are the streams being shown right now? What games are being played?

This is driving me mad. Apparently quicktime broadcaster would work with Justin.tv except, it isn't. I mean, all the settings are up but nothing is ever loading on my channel. WTF.

Been watching this for awhile now, SOTC, good stream.

Yes, well I am chock full of rage because there are NO options for me. This is crazy.

Ha I have been wanting to go through Kings Field again but im pretty sure a lot of people would rather fall on a sword than watch me play that game.

Who said I was thinking about penis? Got something on your mind, sailor?:lol
No, I just get people making jokes where they see the word penis and then backtrack acting like their joke made any sense if they claim they didn't. But I'm just used to a lot of things by now.
Anyway, installing Boot Camp on the Laptop. Then we'll see if the EyeTV can work with windows. And maybe I'll get something working?

That has to have been the worst showing of Mega Man 9 ever. Wow - I'm disappointed in myself. Let's just say that the marathon this weekend WILL NOT be as bad. Sheesh.

Hey Scarlet, if you play Persona, ill watch. Preferably 4.

Yeah, that's what I've been playing and will be playing after Z1 and 2. However, I am at the end of the game now (need 1 more S-Link to complete them aside from Judgement) and am just getting money to prepare my Yoshitsune for later; aka just fighting/getting money for my last 5 or 6 Personas I have yet to make for a full compendium.

Pretty dull.

You should be....you should be. :) LOL j/k

Okay, I've spent all morning on this. It is impossible in OS X to do this. Such bullshit, but I guess I'll have to get over it, sigh.

Just so you guys know, I am setting up a 'site' for us to organize our broadcasting efforts. It will allow us to set events (when you want to broadcast something) and have a unified chat. We can also embed our streams there so its even easier to see who is playing what. I will have it setup tomorrow and will link you all so you can sign up. It is using a social network like site, so I hope none of you mind. I really didn't feel like putting in a ton of effort on a custom site for something that is really low key and meant to be useful but not too complicated.

Sorry about your troubles RK.

It's just frustrating because with all the tools out there it seems that it should be possible. It just isn't, though. I have to wait for Livestream to finish with the Procaster OS X version. If they are actually even working on it like they say they are.
If Quicktime Broadcaster actually broadcasted to Justin.tv like they say it should, maybe that'd be something. Quicktime Broadcater lets you play with a lot of settings, but no sites support taking stuff from it, it seems.

I read that fmle will work in parallels. http://www.tink.ws/blog/no-roadmap-for-flash-media-encoder-for-osx/

Lots of comments with some options for you.

Got Quicktime Broadcaster working with Justin.tv. Problem is that it is super laggy and jumpy. Perhaps it is the settings?

For reference, my internet speed test. This... can't be good for streaming?

How was it working before, RK?

Well, I beat Zelda 1 (after some technical issues w/ sound for some reason)..but with only 3 people around I'll probably pass on Zelda 2 since it takes me so much longer.

I would limit the video bitrate to like 500 or 600, check justin.tv for their recommended settings. I would probably only cast at 30fps because 60 is most likely overkill. Increase the width and height to 640 x 480. Maybe do keyframe every 5 seconds (key frames don't hold any data from frames before or after, so it allows people to jump in to the stream faster).

Let me know if any of those work, try them 1 at a time so you can see if any break anything.

So to those that care and want to partake. I am creating a site/community area where we broadcasters can schedule any specific games or times and make it easy to see when those are going to happen. As well give us a way to unify everyones streaming while letting them stream to any site like livestream or justin.tv or ustream or whatever.

I am debating if I should setup a community chat channel that can be embedded anywhere really, the nice thing about that is that we can group up everyone watching at the same time and they can still just watch whatever streams they want to. Or should we just keep them all separate to the network they are in?

Are there any gfx designers that might want to help do some simple gfx? Nothing too painstakingly hard, nothing more than what most official threads have for games.

I would like to at least offer one portal for all of gaf's broadcasters and a way to let people know who is playing what at what time. I will post the link to it once I get it setup better, atm its pretty bare.
