Yeah I remember one of the first things I would do after starting new game was to turn the console off after saving and check out the save icon thing, or as I called it back then the "memory picture". I remember being really disappointed when checking out the tekken 4 one...I just remember being disappointed with tekken 4 actually.
I really miss the PS2 days. jRPG goodness, and the manuals! I like reading those before starting a game, nowadays its a one page print out in black & white.
I liked Silent Hill 2's radio icon.
I believe there was a doghouse icon on either replays or Born from a Wish, but it's been years so I might be wrong.
Yeah shocked myself. I remember spending more than 150 hours in FFX. But 251 in X-2 was a huge surprise. And I haven't even cleared 100% for true ending. Stuck at 98 or 99%.
True, deleting save files triggered another animations. Wanna check but don't have extra memory card for backups.
I always found myself going into my memory card on my PS2 (and PS1 to a lesser extent) quite often after starting new games to see what the save icon was. Even if it wasn't a major feature of the system, I always thought seeing a game's icon was pretty cool.
