Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Yeah. I'm surprised it works quite well despite the many flaws (the jumpy thing you mentioned, but also camera control and less than optimal cursor responsiveness and abysmal calibration process).

What settings are you using? I'm going with 0 XY deadzone and about 1/5 sensitivity. Control scheme B.

Yeah, i was surprised at the short calibration process. it is probably an indicator of how little of the move tech they're actually using!
I changed the settings a lot but i settled on about 1/5 sensitivity or maybe even less than that and 0 left/right deadzone but max up/down deadzone to largely prevent camera movement up or down. it works ok. what do you think of the 'lock the camera' button? it seems like a good idea to me but i died every time i tried to use it because there were too many buttons to press at once!

Tried the game too.
It's pretty nice, even with many flaws.
The move implementation works pretty well too.
I'm on min sensitivity, no dead zone, and config C (will probably change to B if I see that pushing the aim button to ironsight makes move the cursor too much).
With the PS+ discount, will probably buy.
Only real flaw : no respawn and slow games and slow loadings = little play time for a lot of screen time :(

ok..its been more than a couple of months, and just for the hell of it I checked BestBuy's website about these Move Controllers...and once again, they are sold out everywhere in my area.. (SF Bay Area)

I don't understand how this can be possible. How many are each store usually getting?...you would think it has to be alot.

I'm fine myself.... I have 4 Move Controllers....but I have a couple co-workers who are looking for a second controller.

I'm trying to remember the last game or item that has been hard to find for this long....the Wii?

Got Ape Escape (フリフリサルゲッチュ) in mail as a present from a friend in Japan.
Tried it yesterday a bit. It has nice anime style cutscenes that tell the monkey business plot and the rest of the game has minigame style tasks to catch those damn monkeys. Multiplayer is also an option but I haven't tried it, mainly due to only one Move. Damn xmas and Move sold-out signs.

I think it's one more button to press when shooting indeed. It's too much for me. :D

I watched your KZ3 video last night TTP. Good stuff as always! I was pretty blown away by the video stats as well - Poland seems to love you (or KZ3) :D

As expecetd, I performoed much better with DS2 than with Move in Modern Combat. MUCH better. Like, two different worlds. Even on long distances. I know that there is some learning curve involved, sure...but tbh, I think DS2 is just superior for shooter controls.

Until you go through the learning process, you won't know your potential with it. I played MAG with it for 7-8 hours, and only after hour 5 or so did I start developing a muscle memory for it. I still hated it for close-quarters encounters, but for targets that were 15-20 feet away it felt like was getting the crosshairs overtop of them quicker than I would have been able to with a DS3. We'll see if I get any better with CQ in Killzone 3.

with the Move, if there are 3 targets on the screen at various distances in MAG...I can sometimes kill all three at a faster rate than with the DS3 (if at all). And I've done this in MC as well. I'm still trying to fine my sweet spot with the settings though.

For MAG and MC, I've stuck with Move Controls... I haven't looked back. Imo, It's just funner. I'm going to die most likely in matches, so if I do, I might as well have more fun with it.

WTF, Sly looks creepy. He doesn't translate well to a more realistic look.

Maybe it's just the weird facial expression. He looks very serious.

well, I was going to eventually get Tumble, no reason not to get it now.

also what ever happened to that Rodeo game...it was suppose to release mid December.

With Extraction finally out I went to get a move wand (as I already have a camera.) and they are all sold out! My Wal-Mart did have some of the packs, though I have no interest in another camera or the sports game. Any idea what the deal is, when more should become available?

I picked up a bundle to play extraction tonight and am really impressed with Move so far. Sports Champions is more fun than I was expecting and I also grabbed TW11 as I'm needing some golf goodness. This wand shortage is BS though.

Wow. I actually went out today and picked up a SECOND BUNDLE just for the wand. I seriously couldn't wait any longer. The allure of two handed archery and gladiator duel along with really wanting The Fight is what did it. I ended up trading in the extra camera and copy of Sports Champions towards a blu ray and 2 DVDs. Not bad but still a bitch that this is the only way to get an extra controller at this point.

That sucks. I wouldn't mind picking up an extra wand, but I still don't have a Navi. KZ3 will be enough reason for me to get one, though.

Dead Space: Extraction is one of the best Move games yet. It doesn't have any Move enhanced features, you can cover the sphere and it'll still track you aim. It's a great lightgun shooter and it's really cool after playing Dead Space since you're revisiting the same place and you use a lot of the same weapons but it's all different with awesome pointer controls and the first person perspective. It plays well and it has like, the most trophies in any game ever so anyone who hasn't played it on Wii or didn't get it from Dead Space 2 should make it a purchase.

Yep, tried out Extraction this morning with my brand new i-con lightgun holders. Worked excellent and it's well worth grabbing a Navi controller as it feels like it's made for this game. Great that they made it compatible with the DS3 as well though.

I was gonna make a new thread about this game but..............

Playstation Move is good, we all know that right? RIGHT!?

But after playing MAG I found myself thinking, hmm well this will never replace my Dual Shock 3. It was a cool novelty but you could never be competitive with it.

Until now!

I purchased Modern Combat: Domination for £4.72 on the Playstation Store and I absolutely love it.

This is how first person shooters with Move should be handled, It feels incredible, the accuracy, the movement, the down the irons aiming, all feel fantastic.

And the best thing, It's easily as good or even better than using the Dual Shock, which I never thought I'd ever say, all this from a company that thrives on copycats. :O

So If you're looking for a Move controlled fps, look no further
dammit, I now sound like an advertisement

Holy crap. I just bought mordern combat domination and I can't believe how underrated this game is, especially considering that it is less than 8 bucks. The Move controls are really excellent, and I had a blast playing. Made me even more excited about Move controls for KZ3 :D

When you twist your wrist does the cutting angle change? that was one of my favorite features with the wii version

Want to buy Time Crisis as well but I never see it at $40 and is usually at $50 or $60.
You missed out at xmas, Amazon had it for $23. I had to buy a book in my saved cart to get free shipping. And I still don't own Move.

lol... what am I missing here?

I've only played extraction once, with my gf the first night ds2 came out, and I saw that it mentioned syncing DS3's, so I had them ready.

But when we actually played, we only used the Move controllers, it didn't seem like the DS3 did anything... Am I missing half the game?

You can use the left half of the DS3 or the Navi as an alternative mean for weapon selection and TK action. Nothing to worry about. You are getting the full experience with the Move alone ;)

How active is the playerbase it seems? For 8 bucks it looked like a heck of a decent shooter, I don't have move though.

That's interesting. I believe MAG implementation is far better than Modern Combat Domination one (except scoped aiming).

The cursor is much less smooth, the grenade throwing is broken, camera rotation is painfully slow and getting kills with the gun is such a hit and miss affair. There are a lot of things MCD does wrong compared to MAG, and yet it feels better to most.

I guess the reason why people are having less trouble in getting accustomed to the Move controls in Modern Combat Domination relates to the game being less chaotic than MAG. Also, MAG has probably too many options so people are more likely to fuck it up by themselves. I bet most don't even detach the ironsights (which are fixed and sucky by default)

Very interesting.

I guess people enjoying MCD will definitely love KZ3 :)

Who did the advertising for Modern Combat? I haven't heard a damn thing about this. How is it? It's only 8 dollars? I'm probably going to grab this now.

I actually found the camera rotation far more responsive than MAG :p

And as you said, aiming down the sights is infinitely better on MC:D

Also I actually said a little prayer this afternoon to ask the guy upstairs to make the KZ3 controls the same as MC:D and not MAG :p

This was all using defaults on Modern Combat and your settings from your website for MAG :D (Yes, I buy games based on your judgement :D)

So are the controller players getting pwned by the Move players?

Are you using the detached ironsights option in MAG? I don't see what MCD does better in that regard. Actually it has a very small ironsight deadzone that causes unintentional camera rotation when you zoom in at the side of the screen. The cursor is also less responsive to me and quite jittery. MAG cursor is much smoother.

There is no way to tell who you are fighting against but I guess they are on even ground.

Picked up a Move and a Nav today, anyone have any recommendations about charging them? I may just suck it up and buy the cradle but it would be cheaper just to buy the type of chord they use.
