Are you sure about that? Because I've had mine reset, and while they said "we generally try to avoid this", they really didn't make a big deal of it. (I had my account activated on a roommate's PS3 so we could play one of my games on his projector without moving PS3s/hookups/etc.) So I wouldn't really be surprised if they allowed more than one.
With that being said, I only tried once. So I can't vouch definitively for Sony's position on the matter.
wow planet minigolf demo what is this shit? "Hey thx for downloading the demo but you cant try the move controls, buy the full game please kthxbye" yeha no
If I'm in the US and want Flight Control HD, what's the best option? I realize you can buy UK PSN cards online, but I really only need enough to buy that one game (4.99 GBP?), not the full 20 GBP card.
I just can't bring myself to spend $35 for a $5 game.

I'm going to wait until it launches in Japan next month and buy it along with Einhander, Front Mission 3, and all the other PS1 classics Sony didn't bother to bring stateside.
I don't know where you live tribal24 but in San Francisco area there is a guy who can do a permanent fix for the yellow light of death.
He actually has a professional level automated chip soldering machine.
(Infrared heat detectors, precision heat to within 1 degree for soldering the pins, robotically programmed)
Basically, he can do it and afterwards its pretty much a perm fix.
HVB is good, but the spin implementation is poor. Essentially you have to do your spin in super slow mo at the very end just prior to release, otherwise it get's wonky. It's not very natural, as spin should be recorded at all times, not just at release.
I initially felt that way as well BUT in real life, the spin of the ball is actually determined at the end of the swing, not throughout...only momentum for the spin is charged up during the swing. In other words if you slow your rate of spin towards the end of your swing, the ball will leave your hand with that spin and all the momentum you built up before is lost. Where things are a little weird is that the weight of a bowling ball is such that once you get it moving in a direction it really doesn't want to stop whereas the Move controller starts and stops instantly.
Never the less, I have adjusted it to it and instead of every other ball going straight, I am now to the point where I throw an unintentional gutter arrow once a game.

Yea that really pissed me off too. Oh well, they lost my sale, the way I figure it. Are there any other Move-compatible games that have demos which do not allow use of the Move, or is it just the 1?
double post from the HR thread but whatever i want you guys to know that HR + Move is awesome!
"I just downloadet the move patch and played some of my favorite chapters with move and i have to say OMG its awesome. Heavy Rain + move = double as intense. I dont know what whas in the demo but i just played the level where shelby goes
bat shit insane and you have to kill all the guards in the house
and it whas awesome. It kinda turns into
a light gun shooter
for this scene. LOVE IT.
Also played
the scene where adam has to cut of his finger and i used a saw. Omg its way more intense if you actually have to saw it off with real movements wow !

its the only one. Its retarded and they deserve to lose the sale. I'm not buying it now. Fk them
anyhow~~
been playing hell of a lot of Flight Control HD.. its a funny game this one. Simultaneously soothing and subsequently aggravating- a real test of patience. I'm just a little too fond of accelerating time....
that said, HR patch is out...
so that means... I currently have:
Re5G
HR
SChampion
Tumble
FCHD
as move compatible full titles that I own in my library. 2 of which I didn't even spend money on. Not bad for a couple of days into launch.
HVB makes you re-learn your throws, the exaggerated Wii throws won't work. You cannot be too fast or the power goes off the charts. I'm not sure if it is a "good" Move implementation yet, but it definitely requires more than one round to relearn. I was getting better and better with the throw. Plus it was a free patch to an old favorite. Has anyone in NA tried applying the HVB patch from the UK store? It does not require Plus.
The Move implementation in Planet Mini golf is near perfect, too bad the demo is borked. I took a chance and the full game plays great.
I went to Futureshop to give into my disease. There is a ton of Move units on the shelf, one sign that promoted move at the entrance but the display under was all Halo Reach.
Demo's of every game system, but not one with Move.
This is only a store, but it is their flagship at the heart of downtown, way to miss an opportunity
So for a game like archery requiring two controllers, can u use a motion controller and a navigation controller or does it have to be two motion controllers?
It's not a perm fix though. Not even Sony can actually fix it once the solder is gone (I know quite a few people who had the problem come back after paying Sony the $150/150 rip-off, sometimes not even after 3 months).
My suggestion is to sell it for parts to make a few pennies and get a brand new one. Preferably the 2500 slim model, as it's the most quiet and cool running PS3.
I had someone in Michigan fix my 60gb YLOD last year and it is still running perfectly, even with a lot of usage! Since I live in MI it only cost me $70.
I would definitely try this before buying a new one.

1) home consoles don't compete with portables directly
2) they've already released it on another platform
3) apple doesn't give a shit about "exclusives" and don't fund or interact with developers in any meaningful way

Right, but the way HVB registers is not like real life.
Like you said, you need momentum to spin the ball, which for most people happens long before the moments before release. Once the ball passes my torso I'm applying that momentum to give the ball spin, and that's "too early" in the world of HVB. In fact, I've noticed that most of the time, doing it that early (like you would in real live) often results in spin going the OPPOSITE direction. It's ass backwards and poor. HVB wants you to spin after the swing, and just before release. It's absurd.
Updated op reviews section, no real changes (+1/-1 to a few games, a few extra reviews). Still no reviews for any of the other games. Personally I'm interested in more info about the full versions of echochrome II and The Shoot and morbidly interested in how shitty The Fight turns out.
What the shit. Why is this MAG demo so confusing to get working. I finally have the game, have everything updated, am playing at the correct time... but I've been sitting in a queue for the only open game for literally an hour now. What am I doing wrong?

It does take some time in the queue but not usually longer than 10 minutes. Have you chosen one of the huge games? Try one of the smaller 64 player games. There's usually a couple of choices

I just impulse bought a Move wand thingy (I already have the camera). Funny purchase really as I have no idea what is good for it or whether it's good at all. So my GAF brethren, what do I download/buy first?

That's been my problem as well. My launch unit died back in May, and after paying for the repair, I've had two refurb units die on me, the second of which died last night.
Just called Sony and they are going to expedite my repair and toss in a free 1st party game. I was also given a direct number to call the customer service rep, who promised to deactivate all my past consoles, as well as help me through the nightmare of recovering my Singstar tracks. Overall, I was quite pleased with their help in the matter.
Now the question is whether I should keep my back compat, or sell it for a slim.

It's nice to be able to compare DS3 controls with Move controls in Flight Control. While the DS3 is competant enough, the ease of use, accuracy and speed with Move is far better.

Sports Champions demo. The best thing for the Move right now, from all that I've played, is table tennis, which is in that demo. Tumble is definitely a somewhat close second. Then if you want something more hardcore, and you have MAG, give the beta a download. RUSE is okay in my opinion--controls well but the gameplay and on-screen UI are a bit lacking, for me.
All in all, download whatever you can fit on your HDD! But those are the cream of the crop, in my opinion...
