Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Rayman trilogy has been listed on a French retailer for PS3. It includes Raving Rabbids's. Looks like there'll be some more casual Move titles on the way.

That will probably be a big thing...release it with the game and then release to PSN store later.

as a note rumor has it (mentioned from a purchasing person for Kmart) that Sony allocated stock to stores for Move and had a maximum shipment for the stores and they couldn't request more for their initial shipment. So it would seem that any stock issues aren't low ordering, but actually undershipment/availability from Sony. New stock was sent out on Tuesday

I ordered it from Sony Rewards using credit card points and they sent me a delayed shipment notification with a 4-8 week shipment time.

No. But there isn't really a big point to doing so either ... They are shown during loading. It's not like it's starting the game, then show the screen and do nothing for a while, show the second screen and doing nothing for a while, and then continue loading ...

No, that's not true. The PS Move instructions are part of the firmware/XMB, not the game (basically like the "Playstation 3" intro they removed to save .. time :P ). You have to wait until the actual game starts so it takes 15 seconds or whatever longer.
They are shown if a game is flagged for Move support. Proof: If you have your XMB set to 1080p and launch a 720p-only game, it will not switch resolution during the instructions but when the actually game is launched. Also, it will only then check for version updates.
They should add an option to turn these instructions off. They are not helpful after you played one Move game (which tells you how to position the stuff anyway).

Sony Japan is pretty much dead outside of Team ICO and Polyphony Digital.
They've been a complete disaster outside of that.

An incomplete list of games/franchises developed and/or published by the JapanStudio teams for the PS3/PSP (note that published = funded + own IP + sometimes co-developing like sound design etc.):

Afrika
Ape Escape franchise
Aquanaut's Holiday series
Boku no Natsuyasumi (My Summer Vacation) series
Dark Mist
Demon's Souls
Doko Demo Issho / Toro franchise
echochrome franchise
Everybody's Golf series
Folklore
Kung Fu Rider
LocoRoco franchise
Numblast
Patapon series
Patchwork Heroes
Piyotama
Shiki-Tei
Siren series
Team ICO games
The Eye of Judgment
The Last Guy
Tokyo Jungle
Trash Panic
White Knight Chronicles series

They are awesome for providing a lot of interesting/niche stuff. Nice addition to the worldwide SCE games development and perfect if you are fed up with your dudebro shooters from time to time.

It better be more than the rabbids games. I want my Rayman 2 in HD :D

A question about Beat Sketchers: I tried to play the demo last night (installed from disc) and after the first screen where it asks to press circle button to go to the next screen nothing happens. I can see the Eye showing my room but no matter what I do, I can't move beyond that first screen. I even started the game couple of times again but same result. Is the demo screwed up?

you have to change your controller to 7. I had the same problem because the move automatically considered itself controller 6 (probably because the bluetooth remote was 7). Hit the home button, go in and change it and it should work.

(I don't want to create a thread for this coz I might get flamed):

Epic Mickey HD "talks on-going"

It would be cool if this comes true and if it supports Move.

I read the same thing so I went and downloaded it last nite probably around 10pm EST (canadian store I guess?) but when I tried actually starting a course, it said the same tired message that I needed the full game to play with Move.

hmm i have to try it myself then, will report back

Wasn't this supposed to be true until it was announced to be Wii exclusive during $E3$? Being wii exclusive seems like a decisions made by the suits rather than the developers.

In Heavy Rain, do they ever expect you to rapidly press a button? What is the visual language that they want you to do this? The edge of the icon pulsing rapidly? I had one QTE where it was the move symbol, and I pressed it like 3 times and it didn't register. If it is a pulsing border, that's pretty lame, as during the fight it looked like every border was shaking/pulsing.

Dunno if I'm sold on using Move in Heavy Rain as of yet. It sometimes incorrectly tracks my movements, and coupled with having to constantly guess what exactly they want me to actually do with the controller makes it a bit of a crap shoot. (the point at screen and twist had me stuck for literally 10 minutes making circle motions with the controller instead of twisting)

I believe so because it supports Kinect as well.

I think it is 360 supported but not Kinect supported.

Frankly, I don't think even Kojima could make a joystick free game work properly beyond minigames. As to a hybrid solution I also don't think taking my hand off the controller to swipe with my arm is a good game experience. I think it is not "immersive" at all.

What did that twisty action translate to in the game?

Hey TTP, if you're there. What are you using for your PS3 screen capture? Just out of curiosity--I have a webcam and I've done off-screen vids from that, but it's pretty poor quality, as you'd expect from filming a physical screen with a webcam, even a decent quality one.

So what kind of setup do you have?

I went to Best Buy, Toys R Us, Target and Fred Meyers and not a single one of them had a Move wand for sale. I got paid today and wanted a second one. The good news was that Best Buy is selling RE5 Gold for $29.99.

It was at the virtual desk thing. The twist was "examine file". I kept moving it in a circle, and 1 out of 7 times it would open the file, because I guess I was slightly twisting the controller while waving it circular... which made it seem like the game was extremely unresponsive. It got to a point though that I was trying to wave it in a circle like 20 times and nothing happened. Then I realized what the icon was badly trying to tell me what to do.

I'm 3 opponents from completing the gold cup in Table Tennis, and I can't believe how most reviewers missed the brilliance of this game. The Excite Trucks debacle was nothing compared to this. Table Tennis provides the most advanced gameplay I have ever witnessed in my gamer life. It is phenomal -PHENOMENAL to be able to move around the table as you would in real life, and get on top of that a perfect recreation of your racket movements, with outstanding ball physics supporting the whole thing. One week later, I'm still floored.

yeah it's great kind of suprised at I think it was ign review, table tennis works great maybe they are playing it like on the wii, which doesn't really work where u can just cheat and waggle alot of the times. I really enjoyed wii sports resort, but I find it hard going back to it after SC and the move they just react a bit better for more fun play.

You had to do that same action to start the car, like when you turn the key to start the car, I thought it was pretty obvious because of that.

Unfortunately my latest save was sitting at the desk when I installed the Move patch.

Hm, trying to understand the gestures while starting in the middle of the game would've probably been just as difficult with the DS3. I would completely expect to get into this experience from the beginning.

I just tried the Planet Minigolf demo, no Move support yet :( it says i have to purchase the full game

I have the full game. Move works great and no calibration required.

Can't say the same for Tiger Woods. What a horrible Move demo. Really needs work.

Nobody tried the LoTR Aragon`s Quests yet? compatible with Move? is it that bad?

To my knowledge it's really waggle-y, so doesn't do much to track the z-axis or anything like that.

Will probably be the same as the Wii version... not holding out too much hope.

Seems like having what we want (1:1 sword control) would require major differences in gameplay to the base game.

The multiplayer Tumble demo is a fantastic showcase, I've spent 2 hours on it already with my brother.

Man I love the Move :)

Anyone pick up Brunswick Pro Bowling? Any early reviews available?
First posts from Gamefaqs are not favorable, but I'm looking for more.

To me this looks like a straight Wii-port, even the graphics seem... well, you know what I mean.
So I dont even believe it would play any different than the Wii version. As in "no 1:1, gestures only" etc...

Edit: I got beaten up by Sackratosboy

An rather old (so old I think it's not in production anymore) Earthsoft PV4 video capture card for PC. Only available in Japan back when I got it via Blimblim. I'm sure there is much better stuff out there now.

Got an extra controller for Galdiator and Archery. Archery feels very different is is much more realistic and challenging.

Outside of SC and The Fight, any other Move games using two sticks?
