I played more today and I didn't mind it. It was ok for sure. But after 5 hours...I am done and felt that I got my hours of out of for now.onipex said:No, you are not the only one. I pretty much agree with what you said after playing it at a party over someone's house. On the one hand it is better, but like you I felt it was not more fun or even as much fun. Just no wow factor at all for me.
I wasn't the only one either. Most people complained after playing it a few times and the Wii was turned back on for Mario Kart and Just Dance.
mr_nothin said:While this is true, it's not like the MOVE cant provide the same exact experience. The thing about the move is that it can go well beyond that. It can be catered to the super-casual market with gesture-based controls and it can favor the hardest of the hardcore. with super accurate and precise movements were the slightest mistake will mess you up.
Afrikan said:then you must've been playing it wrong
gluv65 said:Not only that, what I'm about too say is Microsofts mantra, even though you have a "MOVE" in your hands. You are the controller.
Fredrik said:What's more suprising at least fo me is that I don't think Table Tennis turned out to be more fun to play than for example Wii Tennis because it is more precise. I thought it would be, but no. Maybe some games don't need to be simulators to be fun.

can't emphaise just enough how great a game it is. I'd say Jim's GAF review and its 91% score nailed it. Its so damn good

KennyLinder said:I have a weird problem with Flight Control HD. It works perfectly without any problems UNLESS its the first game I play when I turn the PS3 on. If I turn my PS3 on and choose Flight Control, the calibration fails 100% and I cannot get it to work at all. If I quit out (using PS button) load up something like The Shoot, then quit and play Flight Control it then works perfectly.
I have just tested this 10 times in a row (from a cold boot of the PS3) and I can recreate it 100% of the time.
Surely others have had this problem? Perhaps the games require some sort of global recognition to work and Flight Control HD doesn't have this toolset? Whatever it is, I can't be the only one with this issue?
Anyone?deepbrown said:What's the best price for the Move in the UK? I think I want two Move controllers, Start da Party and Sports Champs...

Various forums have this kind of post. Its a bug for sure. I just wanted them to get a better grip on the calibration...ug. It would work then...nada.KennyLinder said:I am holding exactly the same when it works and when it doesn't. It doesn't make any sense at all, its clearly a bug of some kind. It happened yesterday and its happened today. Then today I tested ten times in a row from turning my PS3 off then on, and I can recreate it every time.

If you're happy to wait a day or two, Tesco Direct do the Starter Pack for £39.70 and if you spend over £50 you can use the code "TDX-RTHK" to save £10. Pick up a £20 PSN voucher alongside it and it's a great deal.deepbrown said:Anyone?
Well the starter pack is just the controller, the Eye and a demo disc (with all the demos on the store anyway)...so seems a bit pointless when I have the Eye already.beeps said:If you're happy to wait a day or two, Tesco Direct do the Starter Pack for £39.70 and if you spend over £50 you can use the code "TDX-RTHK" to save £10. Will cost £5 for Courier Delivery if you don't have a nearby Tesco with a Direct pickup counter though.
Edit: Ah, read you want just the controllers. I already had a PS Eye but they go for £15 on ebay so am planning to sell on the spare from the Starter Pack. Morrisons do the games instore for £27.99.
Well I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying by saying "deeper experience". I'm saying it provides more of a challenge because of the better tech. I dont get how having better tech (which allows for better tracking accuracy and precision) doesnt provide a "deeper experience" though. Of course software determines that also, but there's a point where the software is limited by the tech it's being made on.onipex said:Sure if the game is designed that way sure it can. Sports champ. didn't feel like it was designed that way. I don't even know what the "hardest of the hardcore" even means. If you're trying to say that the Move can provide a deeper experience because it has better tech I will have to disagree. A deeper experience can be provided with any controller the controls software that offers a deeper experience.
OK dilemma. GAME is giving 6% back on software with Quidco...and selling the Move games for £24.99 - so that's £23.50 each with the cashback.deepbrown said:Well the starter pack is just the controller, the Eye and a demo disc (with all the demos on the store anyway)...so seems a bit pointless when I have the Eye already.

Asda are selling the Move controllers for £27 and the Navi contoller for £20.Bootaaay said:Is there a bundle for people who already own the camera? If not, anyone know the cheapest place in the UK to get both a Move and Navigational controller? I'm looking on ebay, and they all seem to be going for near £30 each :/
Also, anyone have a list of games that are going to support Move? I haven't been paying much attention, but suddenly realised after playing Anno on the Wii that RUSE should be fucking awesome with Move. Sports Champions looks cool too, but beyond that i've got no clue as to the future Move lineup.
SamBishop said:Anyone saying Move doesn't have a must-have title out there hasn't spent any real time with Sports Champions. It's a fantastic game, and I'm curious if the sort of "booo, waggle" sentiment from a lot of my peers is sort of creeping in on things.
What's weird is that I got why some would bitch and moan about the mini-game-ness of a lot of games on the Wii, but Sports Champions has depth. It's a meatier, more nuanced game than any of the starter experiences on the Wii, demonstrates the fidelity and accuracy of the controller and it's good. Not just fun, not just a decent tech demo it's a very, very good game.
It's also addictive as hell, and my roommate is a Disc Golf savant. It's humbling to have been playing games for years and having played a gajillion motion games and still end up being bested by someone who seemingly makes no effort in utterly dominating the game. She's a thing of beauty to watch; long-range birdies, holes-in-one, she just got it from the second she first started. In fact, her first throw was a hole in one and she hasn't looked back since.
That said, after hours with RE5, I can pretty definitively say that it doesn't change the experience anywhere near as well as RE4 Wii did. I don't know if it's the filtering or what, but there's been no "click" moment for me where I really got it.
Doesn't matter, though; Move is precisely what I wanted from motion control in the first place, and if future games can be as well-executed as Sports Champions without just trying to one-up the exact same gameplay experiences on the Wii, it'll be amazing. That there's a rather steady raft of games that are ready-made for motion control strengths (light gun and first-person shooters, mostly) means I'm set for Move goodies.
Also, wait until you get a crack at it in LittleBigPlanet 2. If it doesn't sell a shitton of units on the basis of word-of-mouth alone, I'll be amazed. Shame Sony undershipped the hardware because it really does deserve to stand a chance against the Kinect juggernaut.
Yeah mine came in cardboard boxes like the starter pack. I guess it makes them easier to transport seeing as you can reseal them.CRD90 said:Did anyone else's extra move controller come in a cardboard box and not the clamshell packaging?
onipex said:The thing is not everyone flicks the Wiimote even if they know they could. I just watched people playing wii sports tennis using full motion even though they knew they didn't have to. People play in a way that is fun to them. That flaw in the controls could actually be a reason why people have so much fun playing it.

Oh really...that's cheaper than online with the discount. You can get the Navi controller for £17.99 from Play.com - cheapest I've seen it.CRD90 said:Asda are selling the Move controllers for £27 and the Navi contoller for £20.

I leave near asda...maybe I'll just get it and play some demos while I wait for the £23.50 games from GAME. I have Heavy Rain and EyePet to keep me going lol
Belfast said:No, but all I've really heard is that it basically plays like a Wii game. I'd urge you to avoid, myself. But if that sounds fun, you've got the cash to burn, and no other game catches your eye, might as well give it a shot.

thanks all for suggestions. Sounds like bundle + one extra controller for me, forget the navigation controller for now and maybe get one if I need one
