jeez chill out. Even though the games are not out, there might still be impressions floating around from demos, etc.
I wanted impressions from people on gaf who have played both games, not read ambiguous PR spec sheets on the device. To me it is extremely important whether Move is better than the M+. It is not just enough that Move is fun, or that Wii is fun. Wii even with m+ had some issues. It seems clear that move should do a much better job for tracking large motions. I am also glad to hear the pointer in Move works well.
Why does it matter? These things will determine in some way the future of gaming. most importantly to me is the perception that people have about pointer controls. Pointer controls are superior to dual analogue, yet there are people even in the gaming media oblivious to this fact. Playing shooters on consoles with two thumb sticks is a painful experience. The sooner all consoles move towards superior pointers the better. Better games will come as a result.
I dont see how asking for impressions on the device on the official thread of the device requires such a response. :/
I bought RE5 on Saturday to try this out. It definitely took some getting used to... but after I got it I really started having fun with it... more fun I'm sure than if I would've played this with Dual Analog.
My biggest hurdle was, of course, thinking inside Tank Controls. I would keep running, going to aim, and then looking down at the ground 'cause I still wanted to move.
But, something clicked and now I basically see the game as an lightgun shooter that you can control where the character is. You move around with the left stick, and when you hold Trigger it turns into House of the Dead basically.
I like that the reticule always starts in the center of the screen. It may be weird at first, but once you realize that you always know where it will start, and which direction you need to move it.
This game worked perfectly even while I was laying on the couch, I was still able to aim and comprehend where the pointer should go completely naturally.
And though it seems cumbersome at first to be holding a DualShock in one hand and the Move in another, it's actually way more comfortable than having your hands locked together on a single piece of plastic over your crotch.
After my first weekend with Move, I'm more than willing to try it on ANYTHING... in fact, I wish they would just allow it to be read as part of a DS3 for almost anything. Like, I'd love to just try it on Shatter, or Monsters. But, the one game I REALLY want to try it on (and I'll probably get hate for this) is Bad Company 2...
EDIT: I DO wish RE5 had some level of a Bounding Box, as when you are aiming you still have to use the left stick to look around. That's a little bothersome but I am pretty accustomed to it at this point.
