You're getting way too offended hombre. The game is obviously intended for a younger audience and/or families. That's not to say it doesn't look enjoyable.

who the fuck are you calling hombre? eh? eh? eh?

:)))))))))))))))))))))9

If I'm holding on @ 3.41FW, can I get a move to work without updates?

I'm guessing if I wanted to get TW11 and patch it, I have to do that through the store, right?

Son of a bitch.

I ordered that Move TV clip for the camera from Amazon. I was impatient and didn't want to wait days for it to come so I paid $5 extra for 1 day shipping. It was shipped on the 18th, and it just arrived in Chicago, IL today about 30 min ago. It still needs to get into Wisconsin to my house and that's a good 2-3 hours away.

Im starting to suspect I won't even receive it yet today...

LMAO ..are you serious? EVERY video ... and I mean EVERY video of STP I've seen makes it look like a kids game and a lot of hands on say things like "your kids will love it".

Start the Party is the Move's obligatory mini-game compilation that is supposed to be fun for the whole family. So long as your family consists of younger kids, this one might be a mild success.

In fact I'm glad that the people who have the game are giving their honest impressions because I would be playing it for the majority of the time while the 5 year old might get some fun out of this and I'm glad I didn't just jump out and buy it.

And to be honest, even comparing a mini-game compilation to WAY deeper games such as Ratchet or Galaxy is a fucking joke.

Also, Kevin Butler recommend Start the Party, in the Move official page, if you say that you have children.

Do you dare to say that Kevin Butler is wrong?

It would have to be because of the "fart" sound between rounds.

I have surround sound and the first time I played it I was seriously pointing fingers at people. They are so realistic sounding:lol :lol :lol

Yes. Yes it has. Multiple times.

Finally tested Move. With the kiddy Start the party.

The first thing you have to do when starting to play is to go to options and disable the annoying voice.

The 1:1 feels great, in some minigames the Move feels perfect, and really fast without lag. The augmented reality works perfectly, like if you really had this object in your hand.

But in the menu when acting as a 2D pointer it feels laggy, and in that minigame where you have to explode the red or blue balls sometimes doesn't detect when I'm trying to explode a ball. Maybe it's because I'm sitting in the sofa like 3 or 4 meters from the tv? Or because I need to move more my hand like stabbing someone?

Some minigames look like somewhat fun, but others are plain boring. I saw in the survival mode there are more than the ones that appear in the other mode where you can select them.

BTW the Move implementation to browse the XMB menu is just awful.

I remember those laughs when HD was touted as a major selling point and look at how that turned out ... I personally dont know any absolutely anyone without an HD flat screen tv and 90% of them have 1080P

IMHO more than 1/2 of TVs bought by the end of 2011 will be 3D.

I am not arguing that. It is just fucking funny how the family busts out 3d glasses outta nowhere.

I'm in awe here for some reason but I had no idea you can still use the Move without the PSeye. Just put it on and did not connect the pseye however was able to navigate the XMB without it. I assume it's needed for all games though? I don't really care either way but just would be nice if there was a USB at the back of the PS3.

How does TW 2011 fair with Move?

Terrible! I can barely get it to recognise when my controller is pointing down, the whole thing seems really flaky.

MrPliskin said:
What exactly makes Start the Party a "kids" game? Because you don't shoot/slice people?

Because kids love it more than adults, so it's a kids game.

If Start the Party isn't a kids game, what is??

fuck off you defensive fanboy

no need to call people names. we're all just discussing games.

I picked up a Move Starter Pack today, and I'm currently going through the demos on the disc. So far I'm not seeing the huge difference from a Wiimote with M+; in fact, I'd say that the pointing has been worse for me on Move, but I probably need to position the camera a bit better before I say too much. But so far that part has definitely been worse since it seems that I have to sit way further back than when I play games on Wii.

The Sports Champions demo has been the best one so far, and I'll definitely pick that one up tomorrow. Gonna try Start the Party now.

EDIT: Well that demo was a waste of time... 2GB for 2 minigames :/.

I moved the camera a bit and the pointing is much better now.

EDIT2: Bah, it seems that the pointer function varies a lot between the different games.

I'd wager games like Dora, Imagine series, things like that.

Just because something is a minigame collection, or fart noises, or animated visuals, it's "kiddy".

It's a fucking stigma with hardcore gamers who think if you aren't shooting shit, seeing tits, or cursing out of your asshole you're playing a kiddy game. Fable 2 had a shit ton of fart jokes, I suppose that's kiddy as well? It was pretty damn colorful as well! Oh, and the people were very stylized and animated. amidoingitrite?

It's irritating to see "gamers" try to reduce something to being 'kiddy' just because it's not the usual mature rated bullshit they're used to being force fed.

Edit: Also, HVB with move is pretty good, but the spin is terrible. Wii Bowling had better implementation.

Maybe it's just me but I associate most party games with kids. It has nothing to do with not killing or cursing. My favorite game this generation is flower :)

Ordered this off sonyrewards.com --- Have lots of points just stockpiling on there and used some of them to get the Sports Champions Bundle, extra move and navigation controller...

Now I wait till it gets here:

Games I want them to make:

Good Golf game
Good baseball game
Good tennis game
Good star wars game

Quality games... not half ass ripoffs that don't take advantage of the tech. Give me some good shit

I guess I just can't agree with this sentiment. I mean, in a nutshell, GTAIV is a collection of "minigames" wrapped in a mission shell. None of it's elements are particularly well done, and you just run around to complete these menial tasks like racing, bowling, shooting gallerys, darts, pool, etc.

I don't think it's any different to call a game like this, clearly intended for groups of people to have fun, a kiddy game, and then in the next sentence say mario is a kiddy game. When I hear "kiddy game" I assume people are saying "hey I'm too old for this", which is just absurd to me.

Fucking MovE gave my ps3 the yellow lights!!!!! fuck was playing sports champions and i was caliberating and the shit started blinking red><.

No, not at all Mr. Defensive. It's a 'kids' game because it's geared towards kids. Can adults have fun with it for a bit? Sure. Just like when parents play with toys with their kids. Doesn't mean all those toys are made for adults.

My wife and I stayed up late last night playing TV Superstars and while at first it looked like it was going to be lame, it has so much potential to be a great party game. We took a lot of time getting our characters designed and we see this is going to be a perfect family party game for get togethers.

Right, it's geared towards kids, and not towards, oh I don't know, a fun party experience. Got it. Fun for everyone = kids.

Anyway, this is terribly off topic, I'm stopping here.

Woo Hoo.. got a 2nd move *bundle*. could find a wand anywhere, went to a HN and someone had preordered and not come in to buy it. So they happily sold it to me.

Score!

Now I have 2 x eyes/wand/demo disc.

:D :D

I disagree, it's more to do with target markets. Start the Party is kiddy, WarioWare is not.

This is not a "lol bright colors Mario = kiddy" trollathon, Start the Party is genuinely marketed to younger players:

B..b...but! GAF told me everything possible with Move is possible with dual shock!

Start the party is marketed towards kids, agreed. Did that stop a 30 year old grown married man and another grown male family member from having fun playing it? No. We were even sober, I can imagine starting that game up during an adult party where the drinks are flowing would result in some laughs for sure.

Sony probably could have done without putting the picture of the really goofy looking kid on the box though, but I guess they figured goofy looking kids looking like they're having fun on products makes dumbass parents more likely to buy it.

I want to buy it, but not for $40. Show it to me for $20, then you've got a deal. I feel the same way about SC. $20 please.
