Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Anyone try the Sly Collection Move mini games yet?

I'll try em tonight now that I have Move and Sly. They look pretty simplistic but at least it's something that supports the controller.

Anyone have Brunswick Pro Bowling.

I want to try an online game so I can finish this review up telling people not to buy this crap game :lol

Just say it's not worth it at all, online or not.

All the garbage I've been hearing about Brunswick has at least told me to not do it. Is HVB really worth it, or is it just a fun diversion?

Installing some demos now. I guess the calibration and shit must be done in a game by game basis, cuz all I had to do was plug in the eye toy and sync the Move. I don't have a surplus of room in my living room but I feel like I have enough space, it's hard to tell though. Hope my set up is OK.

the menu navigation is neat even though it's a little sensitive

oh yeah, when does this fucker LIGHT UP? I want a blue glowy ball :(

Lights up when up start a gAme, otherwise, it's just using the internal gyros

gotcha, playin the Eyepet demo and it lit up, awesome.

I still thing the eyepet is hideous but this is so cool. I can see myself and my cat walking around behind me, this is so fun

dammit, it's telling me to wiggle my fingers but it's not working! dammit....

Hmm...one thing I am worried about; is there anything else on the horizon?

Sure, we just got The Fight, and LBP2 will have support, but are there any other Move games for the hardcore market? I haven't noticed anything.

OK, sorry for the double (I wish I wasn't so LTTP), but has anyone else here had a problem with the "wiggle your fingers" part of the Eyepet demo? I was enjoying it but I could not get past that part, no matter how much idiotic wiggling I did. Is my cat fucking up the signal? She was very intrigued by seeing me on the floor, wiggling my fingers like a maniac.

trying the TV Superstarts demo next but it's a big ass install

KZ3 is a big one for me, Sorcery looked intriguing. It's all speculation now, but I expect most of Sony's first party titles to support it. I sure hope they do, anyways,

Nah I had trouble with that too

Not at all. Heros on the Move, Killzone, Sorcery (<3), Socom, DDR, there's a lot I'm amped for.

TV superstars was retarded but it was fun to put my face in the game. A strand of hair must have got in the pic because I had a weird brown spot on my face. I'm not sure if my Eyetoy mic is on because it wouldn't pick up my voice.

oh well

I have a couple new games and Sports Champions to play but right now I'm infatuated with the Move demos, I still feel like it's not synced right but I've having fun either way

one thing I feel is definitely missing, is a great collection of mini games. I've only played the demo of TV Stars, but the production and forced cinematics are annoying as hell

It's shameless but I'd love a mario party style game with a variety of minigames featuring all the popular Sony mascots like Sly, Sackboy, Drake, whatever. I'd buy it.

next demo: Time Crisis
after this one I think I'll try sports champions finally

argh I can't hit anything or even find my aimer in Time Crisis, I tried calibrating but shits off for some reason

oh well I guess I'll try sports champ now

My move controller is always flat. I turn it off using the PS button when I'm finished but when I go to use it a few days later it's dead. Has anyone heard of this happening? I even have auto off after 10 minutes enabled so this shouldn't happen.

So I caved in and finally bought a used camera, and motion controller using my friends employee discount.

The total came to 66.66 :lol

I don't really own any game for it either other than Heavy Rain which I JUST started replaying. I love the build quality of this thing though, absolutely awesome, super comfy to hold and the buttons just all feel right. Especially dat trigger. I ordered MAG, which left me sorely unimpressed after the beta (my game kept effing locking up >:( ). I figured it was only 10 bucks on the RLS site so what the heck, and maybe the 2.0 update will fix my issues.

Anyway, I was actually really surprised at just how grainy the camera is. But if it works it works. I came out of my room to show this goofy thing to my folks and was really surprised that I could actually aim around the screen even in the hallway off camera. For some reason that just seems crazy to me and blew my mind after having spent so much time on the Wii and being locked into the cameras view. I didn't research too much of the tech driving this thing, how is it doing that? I kind of assumed that it would be using the camera for tracking the ball, and the position of the cursor on screen. It's also different having to make much broader movements, I feel like I can't outsmart this controller :lol

I'm really enjoying my second playthrough of HR now, it's very different feeling. The controls with a regular controller were always loose and felt like a weird approximation of controlling a character but with the motion controller something is clicking more. I feel like some sort of weird, sadistic magical puppet master holding this magic wand and bringing tragedy to these peoples lives.

It's good fun. :D And I actually feel like bestowing misery upon these peons has justified the price of entry. I look forward to future software for this crazy thing.

Sly Cooper Move

one game has you controlling a little helicopter and moving it through rings/avoiding mines to get points, kinda like stage 2 of Sly 1 final boss

another, called "treasure snagging" has you aiming at falling treasures and hitting X and "pulling them in" to win. You have one minute, you can also shoot them down but I think that just prevents them from -minus points when they pass through

next one has you tapping the T button and shooting at a moving cursor, nothing special

basically, the Move games suck but the actual games are awesome so if you're not a major dickhead or a total twat go ahead and buy the collection and enjoy great games

there is one game I haven't unlocked (sly 2), but I'm sure it sucks as well

A gyroscope and a magnetometer- think of it like a compass.
Fuckin magnets!

The ball is primarily used to plot the location of the controller in XYZ. Actually, TTP made a strange video that shows the ball might play some small part in the orientation... That's the theory I took away from his observations at least.

The Move games suck, but Sly Coops Collection is still so worth playing, it's all DS3 outside of the new stoopid minigames. Good luck finding it, hopefully it'll be out before the end of the year out there on danger island.

Ape Escape is something I look forward to, I haven't played one since it was at a kiosk advertising dual analogue sticks.

some of the demos are funny, specially the ones that capture you

creepy, but it's hard to take a not creepy pic with eyetoy

the new rapala pro bass fishing game has support for the move controller too - which is odd, given that every game ships with a superior plastic rod.

also: PDC World Championship Darts Pro Tour will be out in december and could be fun with move.

I'm really liking Move more than I thought I would. I'm actually taking priority away from my backlog to spend time playing move games like Singstar Dance, Sport Champions, The Fight and The Shoot. Current gen graphics and 1:1 gameplay, its possible! Who would have thought.

yeah I hear ya man...whenever I play MAG now, I stick with Move (and I still haven't bought a NavController yet, hopefully this week)

the Fight might be my early morning workout session....and I just love playing Table Tennis and Disc Golf..and yes the graphics are great.

and I still want to get Cabela's Dangerous Hunts and SingStar Dance

these are all $40 games....can't believe I'm having this much fun with $40 games.

Oh lord I just noticed something that's going to drive me crazy. Does anyone else's motion controller make an obnoxious clicking noise when pressing down on the left hand side of it? There's a spot on mine about two thirds the way up between the base and the home button along the ridge in the side. It pops, and its loooouuuuud.

Played Move for the first time today at a friends. Did some Archery and Table Tennis and god damn it was accurate/precise :lol. Doubt I'll get it as I own a Wii but it was nice to just get to play around with it.

The dualshock 3 that came with my slim does this. I think there is a piece of outer molding that didn't get shaved off of the D-pad and it's thin and flimsy. Every time I motherfucking click that sucker left I hear that click. I'm still hoping it breaks off soon or I'll be taking it apart and doing it myself.

It is really accurate, and it was tougher than I expected it would when I played last night. I'm used to the ridiculously easy Wii Sports. I got my ass kicked in Table Tennis. Boccee was really fun, prob my fave of what I tried. I tried Tumble as well, and it's really fun. Out of all the demos and sports champs, it was the one that seemed to do the best job of showing what Move can do, plus it's a good way to test your calibration or whatever.

I'm enjoying the hell out of Move so far and I wanna get the hell out of work so I can get back to it.

I thought syncing all the time was annoying though :(

yeah, it is annoying but I'm OCD about everything being sync'd up perfectly so I can deal with it.

QUESTION

They eye toy can detect voice, right? There was a Move demo that wanted me to record my Move but no matter how much I yelled at the thing, it didn't pick up a sound.

Make sure your PSeye is plugged in.

Audio device settings > input device > PSeye

There is also a calibration section there for feedback (press triangle)

Beat Sketchers was pretty cool, definitely a neat way to show off what Move can do. I drew like 12 penises on my TV screen. It's the kind of thing I like to see with Move, something new and different from the millions of games I've played this gen.

Will get when it (hopefully) hits PSN later this month.

Seems Beat Sketch is getting a disc release in Asia region as well as psn dowload.

Also it's bundled with MOVE + PSEYE a la Sports Champions.

Well at least in S Korea.

Question for you guys. I'm thinking about picking up a Move bundle but was wondering: how many games support simultaneous 2-person play? My girlfriend would probably be into some of the less twitch-reflex games, so that would make it an easier purchase.

So uh..is there any information about DDR for PS3 anywhere? Barely any even on GAF. Apparently it comes out this week and supports Move. I thought this might be the first console DDR game I ever buy but information on it is nil.

Sports Champions
Flight Control HD (EU only)
Time Crisis
Resident Evil 5

and probably a few more have simultaneous two player.
Probably several (Start the Party etc) which has sequential multiplayer.

I'm prettysure I read Flower Move support was scrapped to focus on Journey.

I'm on my phone so I can post it later for the official PS blog or the unofficial PS3 Blog had a post and screenshot of DDR Move, looks cool. Has circles you touch the controllers with if I recall correctly.

i seriously cannot find any move software except beat sketch and time crisis anywhere in osaka! what the hell!

why is sports champions sold out everywhere?! i don't know whether this means it's a success or failure.

what are the shooting games (FPS, TPS , no rail games) compatible with Move?

Love pointer controls for shooters and that's the only reason for me to pick up Move, but don't wanna spend 100 bucks and later find out there is no support for it.

AFAIK, there is MAG and Killzone3 in near future ... anything else ?

Resident Evil 5, The Shoot, Time Crisis, and I'm not sure what else is on the horizon.

If there ends up being a patch for time crisis I'll more than likely bite based on TTP's video of it.

And I totally exchanged my motion controller, the clicking was driving me crazy. I got all OCD about it to the point where when I was playing heavy rain I had no idea what I was doing because I would just sit there clicking the side of the controller. :lol

MAG, Time Crisis, The Shoot, Resident Evil 5 are current ones.
Killzone 3, Socom 4, Oddworld Strangers Wrath HD are upcoming ones.
From my head that is.

Modern Combat Domination (Gameloft)
