Playstation Move Thread: It Only Does Everything

Thanks TTP!

Under Siege looks really cool now, presentation reminds me of Warcraft 3 a lot. The "rocket jump" ability sounds fun.

Is the annoying micro loading gone in KZ3? That bothered me the most I think.
I can only speak for the preview level (with the big mech) I played, but it seems so. The screen turns black for a second before each cutscene though, but I presume they'll iron that out in the final code.

It's a two parts video. About 17 mins total. Pop corn sold separately.

Under Siege Pt.1 (Controls analysis, Basics): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O02AKKOasR4

Under Siege Pt.2 (Multiplayer, Editor, etc.): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLsUyze_CJQ

Enjoy!

Coming up next: KILLZONE 3, woot! (hopefully in 48hrs - still recording vids)
Under Siege shaming AAA title feature sets.

You probably didn't even play all the games that are in the current game. Some don't even come up unless you play the 10 round multiplayer game.

You are right that it needs more modes, but also a simple free select for the games would be nice also.

I have =) (The trophies are super easy to get in this)

Edit: Having MAJOR T-button issues. Echochrome II and Start the Party hardly recognizes it and the XMB is going crazy as if I'm holding it down.

During my vacation, I picked up Top Darts and it's one of my favorite Move games yet.

Obviously it's nothing mind blowing, it's just darts, but the presentation is great (does for Darts what Hustle Kings did for Pool) and it works fine most of the time. It's one of those types of games that are just nice to have on your console, a darts game is always a crowd pleaser when friends are over. There seems to be a lot of game types for multiplayer, and the League mode makes single player worthwhile.

I only have a few complaints with it. Custom Soundtracks would have been great, but they're no where to be found. The controls work well, but it did take me a bit to get used to the motions since you can't really hold the controller like you would a dart. And lastly, fuck the Stack-Up mode. I almost made it to level 9 but my wrist was so sore that I couldn't keep up any more. It's a neat idea but it gets downright painful after several minutes since you're repeatedly "throwing" the darts at the screen.

Overall, it's a very solid game and it gives you something to do with your Move. Thank the maker for PSN since it's the only thing keeping mine from collecting dust. It's a must-buy for any Move owner unless, you know, you actually own a dart board.

I've been out of the move loop for a while now, so I'd appreciate if someone can fill me in whether or not MAG supports move out of the box or if it's still part of a beta.

I want to try out an fps with motion pointer controls.

Out of the box (after patching).

MAG on PS Store is pre-patched.

Some new pics in there as well.

Eh, I'm not really sure about this one. On one hand, it's a decent looking Move game and it has Sly Cooper (Pirate Sly!), but nothing about the game looks particularly impressive. I guess it's a maybe for me, with only my craving for Move games possibly pushing me over the edge.

Where is the iWaggle KZ3 video!?

Has been sitting on my HDD for 3 days now. Damn YouTube upload failures. I'm on the 3rd try now. Seems to be going fine. Should be done in about 2 or 3 hrs.

Edit - Nevermind, it failed again :/

Success!

Can't believe it's finished. Took me a whole week of studying, filming, editing, encoding, commentary, plus two.5 extra days of YouTube uploader acting up and unwilling to end the process correctly. Fix this shit Guerrilla!

Anyway... :)

Discover how the upcoming Killzone 3 works and plays like with the PlayStation Move motion controller in this exclusive (and spoilers free) video analysis of Guerrilla's latest, based on a demo preview code printed last November and featuring a single section from the game.

This is my longest video to date, lasting almost half an hour (!), so you might want to take a seat and fasten your pants belts before hitting play below.

Enjoy!

Maybe this is "news" enough to deserve its own thread? Not sure so for the time being I'll post it here. Feel free to create a new thread if you believe it's worthy.

Great stuff TTP... Have you gotten a hold of the rifle peripheral yet? =P

Asked my local Sony guy but he didn't deliver. :/

Dunno who else to ask. (Tried contacting international Sony PR but got no replies)

I would have loved to add that to this video.

Fantastic video. Wasn't sure about getting Killzone but they seem to have made a great move implementation so i am definitely getting it now. Can't wait. Love that they fixed my main problem with MAG which was the zoom drifting.

And the scoped aiming. So happy about the way it works in KZ3. I wonder if Zipper will ever fix that in MAG.

Doubtful. Better hope they fix it for Socom 4. I am very surprised you managed so well without crosshairs on also. Should make the game a lot more immersive.

Yeah works quite well. I actually managed to finish the whole demo on Elite difficulty like that (with no assist mind you - I only used assists in the video for demo purpose. Last part is totally assist free).

Only issue is when you are behind cover as the gun points up so you lose your reference point. You have to peak for the gun to point back ahead so you have a better understanding of where you are actually aiming.

But that's the beauty of the whole no-crosshair thing I guess. It feels more realistic that way.

Hell yeah, downloading now and will watch later.

Amazing video TTP, just watched the entirety of it while eating breakfast. :D I need Killzone 3 in my life, the game will be so amazing.

awesome video. Now I already know which settings to choose :D

Will play KZ3 with the Move, it looks much more fun to actually aim, especially w/o the cursor (why oh why doesn't Time Crisis have this?!)
For my first playthrough I will choose no cursor & no assist in Trooper mode (or is the AI much better in Veteran so it would be a better experience?).

Though I would like to disable the melee-kill range icon (and the reload icon) and the cursor micro-movements when holding the Move absolutely still.

This video also brought some little gameplay changes to my attention like the cool sliding move and having 3 weapons instead of 2. :)

I assume in mp you can't turn on any of the assists? At least I hope so.

I wonder if they turned Move off during splitscreen because... of the actual splitscreen or because 2 Moves would demand too many resources. It works in RE5.
If only the coop was playable online... *sigh*

Yeah, I'm a bit saddened that you can't use Moves in split screen. RE5 was tons of fun playing like that. Would it be unrealistic to hope for an optimization patch down the line that would enable it?

You can remove the HUD for that. What sucks about removing the HUD tho is that you get no hints about when you are standing on a weapon you could pick up. I hate that.

AI is pretty though in this demo even on Trooper difficulty. I tried multiple times to rush through Rambo-style, performing melees and such and they always own me.

Anyway, about the cursor thing, I advice getting used to having it off at some point cos on Elite it's off by default (at least in this demo code).

I don't recall it being off on Elite in KZ2.

I haven't watched the whole KZ3 video yet, but I think I understand why the switch between the iron sight and the normal view is instantaneous now. It seemed like a weak attemp to mimick the CoD feeling with a Dual Shock in the beta. But with lock assist it makes a lot of sense.

Also, holy shit at the gameplay part at the end of the video, Killzone is so brutal. The sounds, the animations, it puts most other shooters to shame. Thank you TTP for this very informative video, once again, you prove yourself a lot more professional than all those journalist who can't explain why the Move controls work or not for KZ3.

Good work TTP. Killzone 3 looks really good with the PlayStation Move. It's a shame so many will dismiss it without trying it, but I'm looking forward to giving it a go myself.

Awesome, very informative. My move is already collecting dust, now I am really looking forward to playing kz3 with it :)

Awesome thanks, looking forward to it, putting down DC Universe for a few minutes to watch this thanks

I played the 45 minute trial, thought Move worked pretty well. Better than MAG imo.
I had a run around on it for a couple of hours last night. it's not bad. After messing around with the move settings a bit i got it pretty responsive. it still seems a little jumpy when in iron sights but apart from that the controls are smooth and its easy to aim.
At 8 quid it's well priced and should tide me over until the big move shooters arrive

Yeah. I'm surprised it works quite well despite the many flaws (the jumpy thing you mentioned, but also camera control and less than optimal cursor responsiveness and abysmal calibration process).

What settings are you using? I'm going with 0 XY deadzone and about 1/5 sensitivity. Control scheme B.
