PlayStation Store 06/01/10 - Planet Minigolf

It seems Grace is no longer replying to people on the PSBlog. I guess I kinda understand her, people seem to hold her responsible for the content of the updates.

They really shouldn't. She's just the messenger.

Perhaps if we lobby for the above crapfest to be released we'll get a decent game instead. Yay for reverse psychology! :D

Who are you kidding? If we lobby for it, they'll release it, given how they love to torture us so.

She hasn't for quite a while, some guy (?) named Ro Hernandez would usually answer a few a day or so afterwards.

And well, she is the "Senior Manager, PlayStation Store". If she's not responsible for the store, then who is?

I mean, especially when you have a blog post, 3 days previously, saying a game (Stellar Attack) will be released today. How hard is it to make sure it's been released? Or if not, give an explanation, or at least acknowledgment of a delay?

Same with FF9. Fans know it's out in other regions. Why can't she ever say something about it?

.

I don't get why people in this thread are bagging on N2O: Nitrous Oxide. It's a very good PS1 game, and there aren't a whole lot of other games like it on PS1 (or PS3 or PSP, for that matter). Tempest X3 and NanoTek Warrior are a couple of PS1 classics that are in the same vein--I hope they can bring these to PSN as well.

Grrr. No Stellar Attack. Just like 3 days before on the official blog, they had a post saying it was...

Yeah, what's up with that? I was hoping to see it this week.

A completely random, pointless PSone classic that nobody remembers nor wants. How predictable. Lets guess next weeks. My guess is Mary Kate and Ashley: Winners Circle
Actually, N20 was a pretty good game around it's time of release. Don't remember it getting trashed at all, really. The "wants" part is debatable, but I most definitely remember N20 being a solid game.

They always do this, whenever its something they dont want its the worst update ever! :P

I seriously doubt that it was specifically Grace Chen's fault that Stellar Attack was not released today. I'm sure it was more like Sony QA found a major bug, or the dev found a major bug and had to push it back a week.

People blame Grace Chen and Sony all the time for things that are not handled by Sony at all. I highly doubt that Sony are sitting on FFIX and just not releasing it just to be assholes. I'm sure that it's something on SE's side. But people seem to feel to need to blame Sony, as if they have any say.

Seriously...they didn't put Williams Pinball up? What the hell?

I know I'm throwing myself in front of a runaway train of anger here, but N20 was a terrific game in the PS1 years. Really terrific Tempest style gameplay, an asston of levels, and uh... a trippy fucking theme to say the least. Great quirky shooter. I highly enjoyed it, and admittedly have no idea how it would hold up today, but it was great then!

There, at least I tried.

There are so many better games they could put up......

Seems high profile games are having trouble getting up on the store. How about we find some low profile psx games that should be up?

-So how about Tomba? Tomba and Tomba 2 were published by SCEA I think.

-Tecmo's Kagero Deception II and III are niche and as weird as the stuff they put up but they are at least very good.

-Saga Frontier? Wasn't that published by SCEA too (Square did publish the second one though).

-Azure Dream by Konami. Niche dungeon crawling but still better than most of the stuff up.

-Tail Concerto? Extremly niche and published by Atlus, Might be some licenses problem though.

-Fear Effect 1 and 2? Eidos published these. Come on Square-Enix.

I'm not certain why you keep on getting excited or even caring for PSN updates. You should stop for your own sanity. :)
Sure, but in this case you have to admit that promoting at least two games on the blog and then not delivering (Stellar Attack, Williams Pinball) and then not delivering is a pretty low blow. On top of that, there's the Backbreaker demo that even the developer/publisher thought would be up already and you can see there's at least a reason for optimism, even if it is just Lucy yanking the ball away at the last moment ... again.

Awful PS1 'classic'
No FFIX
No PSP games
Charging for even more avatars without any new free ones.

Quite a disappointing update. If it's one thing to expect, it's SCEA dropping the ball and losing it in the woods.

So basically you're saying that the PSN update has been a disappointment. Always think like this. Even when they promise you stuff until the second it's up. Then be happy!

Is Gran Turismo PSP worth $20?? Impressions and I will most likely buy.

Have you played GT4? It's basically that, without a career mode or car modding, plus some post 2005 cars - The GTR and the ZR-1 and a couple Ferraris.

I'm at work, give me impressions.

I played the beta, so here you go. It's a good, solid mini golf game. Decent enough to look at, i think it has online, and there's a good amount of content. It's pretty good.

It is. Buy now so you can have a boat load of cars available for you whenever GT5 is released.

Still looking for Minigolf impressions... everyone is too busy bitching to actually look at the content :/
Demo only, seems fine. Curious what the creator content is or if there will be move support. Might buy it anyway since I got like 30 dollars worth of credit on my psn account.

They announced that it will have Move support a few weeks back.

I am uploading the UFC preview. 17min left -__-

Planet Minigolfs demo is pretty fun. Don't dig that besides the jeans the only "punk" pants item is the flame pants. So tacky, but it + hoodie + cap + punk boots = Brian <3

Other than that, the warm up course is pretty good. Got a hole in one on the first bit, did good until the downhill course. That fucked me over.

I don't like how the l-stick is dedicated to shots. Is there a way to move the D-pad aim to L and R-stick as the shots?

I was seriously talking about how fun N2O was with my brother just 2 days ago.

I have to say that I'm a bit surprised to see N2O hate, but realize that I shouldn't be. It's not everyday that a legitimately fun game is released on PSN, especially one that I can assume wasn't played by many.

N2O is a great game, folks. It's a techno fueled tempest game that I think everyone should try out

It's not surprising that the repressed RPG fans are not excited that an actually fun game was released on PSN, for once

I think they all have one game in mind, and no other game will take its place.

For me it's Tomba, but I won't trash another title just because they never release it.

YES YES AND YES

I remember the day I played the OPM demo back in the day. Loved it. We could get far worse PSOne classics.

Caught me before my edit :)

I agree with you on Tomba!, also. That was one of my favorite PS1 games.

edit: By golly, America loves Tomba!

Not one but multiple games, but yeah, you have us down to a science.
