PlayStation Store - 06/05/12 - E3 week

I need to buy a bigger hard drive for my PS3. I'm running out of space. Is replacing a hard drive an easy process and is any hard drive compatible? If not, what would be a good HDD?

Super easy to replace. Just make sure the drive is 9.5mm and not 12.5mm.

Maybe a stupid question: Do you need to keep the LBP2 install data from the disk version to use the DD version? It's about 2.5gb, and if I don't need it I'd rather free up that space. I'm guessing the patch data is in it, but I don't mind re-downloading that if it gives me a couple gb more space.

Anyone have an average idea how much HDD space these require?

► inFamous 2
► MotorStorm Apocalypse
► LittleBigPlanet 2
► Darksiders
► Outland
► Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
► Renegade Ops
► Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
► Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown
► Chime Super Deluxe

Also are all of them going to be on Store tomorrow at the same time? (I'm in the Euro land)?

Thanks in advance.

It's dirt easy. The only thing you have to worry about is the blue screw, which can be screwed in very tight for some people. Too much brute force and you might strip the screw.

If you're lazy, just read this thread and pick a HDD off of the known working list:

http://community.eu.playstation.com...al-PS3-Hard-Drive-Upgrade-Thread/td-p/4908795
Man, that list is no use if you're already on 250 GB. Then again, at 250 GB it's probably enough to just man up and delete games and stuff I don't plan to play anymore, it's why I'm dumping my Vita stuff off the PS3 onto the PC (going to a 2 TB hard drive helps) and weeded out demos that are either irrelevant or I don't really care to play THAT much.

Check back a couple pages. They are all listed.

VF5 and LBP2 downloaded and installed so far.
:)

Just saw them, thanks a lot. ;) Guess I'm going to delete Mass Effect 2 since I played two times already.

I have an 120GB HDD and it never felt so short. It's going to be amazing for me tomorrow to start downloading them all when I arrive home.

I'm pretty sure this was already asked, but I just need to add the games to my cart in order for it to be in my account history to download later?

You have to add them to your cart and complete the checkout process for them to be registered on your download list.

Sideway is downloading ridiculously slow. I'm trying to get all the smaller PSN titles done, but so far only Hard Corps has finished...shit.

Aww fuckin A. I thought Motorstorm Apocalypse was going to be free on the US store. Been wanting the play that game for a while now.

2 of the 9 complete editions that were for sale last week were freebies this week. I almost bit on Just Cause 2 but I had a feeling this would happen. Hopefully some of the other 7 show up!

I'm too lazy to figure if this has been talked about already here but how is Final Fantasy IV? The price drop seems really nice and I'm in the mood for some FF action. How is the difficulty, in particular?

Figured I could ask this here instead of making a separate thread.

I've had this issue with the XMB on my PS3, where my PSP folder got corrupted, forcing me to re-download all PSP-related items.

Since then, the XMB never created a new PSP folder, and all my PSP stuff has been hanging outside taking up rows of space. Is there any way I can just manually create the PSP folder and move all the content in there?

It shouldn't if it's digital. It would be pretty stupid if it did need to install but I guess I'll find out.

My Infamous 2 download only took about 3 hours, but the install is taking ages! 15 GB installs aren't ready for primetime yet.
Are you background downloading anything else while it installs?
That makes them extreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemly slow.

Don't believe so. You can't install PSP games to the system anymore and you can't manually sort install bubbles. IIRC, the reason they changed the way the system handles PSP/PSX games was so Vita wouldn't be compromised via the PS3.

This installing shit better be gone with the PS4. It is a pain in the ass to deal with! I'm currently installing LBP2 along with downloading other stuff. This system needs to be able to multitask.

Yeah it takes like 40 minutes to install it without having a download running. WIth one going you may as well just hard reset your system and start the download over since the data will corrupt. But if you don't your ps3 will basically freeze itself.

The network seems to be crawling now but it isn't surprising considering basically everyone that was at Sony's conference and everyone that visited their booth today is a Plus member now and trying to get their free games.

Hey guys, sorry if this is a bit offtopic, but I have a 40gb PS3 and that shit is WAY too fucking small. I have had to delete and redownload so many things its not even funny. I want to expand. Will this drive work?

http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/prod...7cadefce98f0121en02&category=10484&StoreId=51

Is that one ok? Is it reliable?

There is this one too.

20 bucks cheaper but 500gb less. I guess I am more interested in reliability than in space, but space is nice.

Thanks guys.

The 1TB drive won't fit so go for the 500GB one.

It IS multitasking...
slooooooooooooowly!
I've had a PS3 since day 1 and trust me, this is WAY better than back in the day when we didn't have background downloads. Shit, I don't even think we could cue stuff up to download back then.

Thank you my friend.

500gb it is.

That should last me a while, right?
I bought a 320 a little over a year ago and I'm kicking myself for not getting the 700 that was $40 more. I have to clean the fridge every couple months, and with my collection of games like RE5 and stuff, it's a pain in the ass to reinstall every 4-5 months when I play around with a game for a couple weeks. I'd go as big as you can afford to

My download slowed to about 1 MB per minute. I restarted the system but nothing was helping for at least an hour. Then I paused and resumed and it magically started back at full speed which is about 1 MB per second.

I have not played any of the PS+ freebies. Just added everything to my download queue. Infamous 2 should finish first (Gamefly sent me Infamous 2 on Monday, returned it on today, hopefully I'll get Dead Space--played the game trial and love it). Have automatic updates on so PS3 should turn on at 2AM. Judging by the size of these games, it is going to take more than one night to finish downloading and installing on my 15MB/s connection, which is fine because I don't have time to play until Thursday evening.

Slightly off topic to those that have played LBP2... how do I turn off the sixaxis? I'm laying on the couch and am tired of my dude staring up at the sky.

Well, possibly bad news for most people. I fired up Warhammer and hopped online for some bulky dude shootin, and I got a message to enter an online pass to play past level 5. I bought the game retail but traded it in, so my pass was still active to download from the PS Store, but I'm not sure what will happen for people who are just downloading it for the first time. Just a heads up.

If you click R3 or L3 (or something like that, can't remember exactly) you can change it so the hips move instead of the head. It's much less noticeable that way.
