PlayStation Store 07/20/10 - Gravity Crash Portable | Kane & Lynch Demo (PS+)

I decided to purchase Gravity Crash Portable based off of gameplay video and GAF's impressions. I like it, but I was caught off guard by the controls; I assumed it'd control like Pixeljunk Shooter and you wouldn't need to hit X to accelerate. I keep crashing into walls and forget to activate my shield. Oh well, I'll adapt.

Wonder what's the status on Castle Crashers and Toki.

Seeing Burnout and Darkstalkers get the $9.99 price drop, will we see more of this in the upcoming updates? This is part of that PSP Greatest Hits thing, right?

Maybe Powerstone Collection, Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins, Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles getting price drops as well? :D

Fuck you Grace chen:lol
Earthworm Jim looks like next week, at least for the EU if the comments on the blog are anything to go by.

Isn't Toki XBLA exclusive?

So, the US Store updates have been getting Street Fighter Alpha 3 and SFIII: 3rd Strike avatars the past weeks...am I in heaven? Now get the full rosters up, Cap! Crossing my fingers for some Devil May Cry, RE, more Mega Man series besides classic, MVC2, and so on.

I wonder why the only real 3rd party avatars we are seeing are from Capcom USA, though. Would love to see some ones from SEGA utilizing games like Yakuza 3 and 4, Sonic & SEGA Racing, Sonic ('retro' look as an option please) in general, etc. And Konami for the obvious Metal Gear avatars - they'd sell like hotcakes.

Capcom USA is being very nice to the US Store (some other surprising niche Capcom games [Darkstalkers avatars] as well as mainstream ones), but feel bad for the other regions.
Most importantly though; are they teasing us with these or is there plans to finally release SFA3 and SFIII:3S PS1 versions on the store?

edit: kassatsu, you forgot to mention the new avatars for the US Store update this week
source info: http://www.capcom-unity.com/jgonzo/...on_network_new_avatar_tuesday__50_off_of_mvc2

Am I the only one in the store update threads that care about the mysterious avatars every week? :-(
You guys can damn Grace for no Xenogears or Pacman CE date each week, and I will damn well cross my fingers for such similar hings!

By the way, I've given up hope for all stores except the JP one as for the PS1 archives. Just do what I did and Ebay all the PS1 games you still need to play. Much better to do that then be frustrated every week. Still, I hate to see so many people missing out on games like Tomba and Brave Fencer Musashi.

I cannot seem to find a blue toad murder files topic so I'll ask it here.
I recently downloaded the first episode for 1.49 (promo) and was quite surprised.
I liked it, and had downloaded the third episode for free a couple months ago. (also a promo i guess, but wasn't playable without the first ep)
Can I play the 3rd ep before the 2nd in terms of storyline?

And how do I get the total package now for the lowest price. Any offers currently?
EU or US doesn't matter, as long as episodes are not regio-locked. If so, EU is the way to go now.

Going to pick this up when I get home tonight. First mini I'll have bought (Have Fieldrunner and Age of Zombies, but they're through PlayStation Plus).

Looks lovely, and the impressions have been positive. Not too bothered about the length, although UK loses on price as usual. :(

Sony should give the Minis more showcase on the Playstation Store. All new games are buried under the PSP games then minis section. Put them on the main page.

4 disney PSone games coming this week.

Grace Chen to be buried in hate.

The Disney PS1 games were good. Yes, I know it's not the big name games everyone is waiting for but it's way better than half the stuff already up.

There are three ships in the game. The "Dual Controls" and "Antigrav" ships (or whatever the second and third ships are called) control a lot like the ship in PixelJunk Shooter. The difference is that the "Dual Controls" ship will start descending toward the planet's surface if you release the analog nub, while the "Antigrav" ship will stay in place (much like PJS).

It hasn't been exclusive for a while now.

Gravity Crash PSP is pretty good. I love the throwback aesthetic. Playing with the first control option, it's a bit wonky, but I sort of like it. Getting used to the gravity is tough, but for this type of game I prefer wonky flight controls, seems like that's half the fun.

I rented A Bug's Life from Blockbuster when I was a kid, and I remember it being fun. They are missing the best Disney game for PS1, Toy Story 2.

Hmmm, would have preferred Toy Story 2 and Tarzan. But Bug's Life was alright from what I remember.

Sadly, all or most of those PS1 Disney games have better versions on either Dreamcast or N64, while the PS1 versions were garbly messes most of the time.
Only real one I want to play again is A Bug's Life, which I played on N64 and more than likely is smoother polygon-wise and doesn't have that overly-sharp PS1 3D "pixel" garbly jaggy mess look. And no loading.
Nonetheless I'll pick it up on Tuesday.

Kind of like the situation with Rayman 2; who in their right mind would buy the PS1 version (on the PS Store) when there is a superior Dreamcast (and PS2 'enhanced' port) version?

So I got this spam message saying "send this message to all your friends, input this code and redeem $50 on PSN!" I haven't that stupid crap but I've tried out the code for kicks and it indeed is a code for a $50 PSN card, but says they can't fund me the money. What's the deal with this kind of crap?

crazy PSN spammers are everywhere. I just disregard that stuff.

I wonder what games are coming out tomorrow.

I hope it's Pac Man CE DX.

Fatal Labyrinth, a Sega Genesis game, is coming to PSN/XBLA/WiiWare/PC/Mac

Wasn't the original Piyotama only $2 or something on the PS3? I recall it being SUPER cheap.

Yea, it was only $2. I don't think $5 is a terrible price for the PSP version, but it better have more content or modes.

Piyotama is goddamn awesome. One of the only puzzle games I've liked on psn (along with Critter Crunch)

I'll stick with my ps3 version though.

This man speaks the truth. Interesting mechanics for a puzzle and very cute art as well. It was my first PS3 game (along with Tekken 5: DR Online) and I have fond memories of it. If a trophy patch were released, I would play more of it.

Piyotama was released as a Mini in Europe, is that not the case in US? Pretty weird if it's only a Mini in one region.

isn't it weird to bring this back when they have Shiren out there?

Sony really irks me at how lazy they are at updating the store on Tuesday's. I'm sure it's been said a million times before but I need to vent! heh

They are just as lazy as they were on Thursdays.

no new thread yet?

US Store update:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2010/07/27/playstation-store-update-149/

Critter Crunch (Free to PlayStation Plus subscribers)

Syphon Filter (Free to PlayStation Plus subscribers)

Kahoots (Free to PlayStation Plus subscribers)

SCEE and PAL PSN+ subscribers won't be amused, because now the US has 7 free games instead of 4 in one month.
Let's see if this forces SCEE to dish out more content in the future, they already commented that they are "aware".

Yeah surprised there is no new thread. Kassatsu, WE NEED SOME ASSPLAINING TO DO! :P

That said, I didn't update as of yet! Already own Critter Crunch but not the other two.

Oh and "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11: The Predator ($4.99)"... more like The Sexual Predator :lol
