Playstation VR GDC Presentation: March 15th

I know headphones are needed for psvr and vive, but aren't they included with OR?
If so, I would think psvr would have to come in at 299 or 349. Camera and headphones would add 150 to your start up cost. Couple move controllers would be another 50. We would be looking at 499 to 549 for the lessor of the big three.
Uh you don't need headphones for PSVR, also what headphones are you including for $90? Sony sells an awesome pair of headphones for $20 and the camera is only $60...
Also both of those things Barely cost Sony anything to make
PSVR will likely have cheap wired earphones packed.
If anything but really they don't need to.

It's gonna be a hard month.

oh yes, yes it will be!

As a gear vr owner... It has already changed mine

I mean, not to get off topic, but you're even just talking about 180 or 360 video (I'm assuming).

Photorealistic 3D modeling exists for VR, and for porn specifically (Google it if you're curious). This is where the PC headsets will really shine in that industry. There is a lot of money to be made there.

Will be getting this and the rift. Vive is too expensive for me now, i can't afford all headsets.

Betting release is 1st week of June worldwide.

Same here, releasing alongside No Man's Sky as a launch title. Priced £199-£249 (low/high) range. I've had this prediction for over a year now. The date I was iffy on but when No Man's Sky was announced for June and we heard that PSVR is 1H2016, it made sense to me.

Going with... Headset $350/$399 ; Bundle $450/$499.

Hope for the low end estimate, expect the high end estimate.

As long as the headset launch sub $500 I think they will do well enough considering the competition pricing.

Is this an event inside of GDC or is this an event outside of GDC for Press?

Well they're calling it an exclusive press event so...

It's the deats, it has to be.

It's curious that they're not just going to wait until e3 if launch has indeed shifted to fall. They're either doing it now to steal mind share or its still on track for the original launch window.

Its better than the dk2? Well im satisfied

That chart is based off information of what they know at the moment, so dont put too much faith into it (they uses developer kits, and also estimated cost for the hardwares. See how they pegged dk2 to be the same cost as the rift consumer vers. Also they said the graph will be different for everyone as quality is subjective).

Announce this the same week as the Vive price heh? Sucks they don't seem to have better ways to demonstrate in this type of setting but launch info should be exciting.

I'm gonna go with $399 stand alone/demos, $499 bundle with the camera/move/game/demos, and September as the release month.

Wish it was a little earlier but I should still be able to cancel my Rift order if I'm really impressed by the overall package.

thanks guys, didn't realize it was from Sept apparently anyways. But its nice seeing their perception of the quality. I dig my Gear VR, and interested in PSVR if the price is right.

Do you think they've had the price nailed down for a while, or do you think they might be making adjustments after the announcements of both the Rift and Vive prices?

I know they said they would be selling it at a loss to push the unit out better, but is there a chance they saw the competition and maybe decided to raise the price a bit since it will still be the cheapest option, say from $299 to $349-399?

I would think if they had 299 in mind already and saw the rift and vice prices they'd double down on their price. So much positive press for low price could go a long way.
