I look forward to your potential return to podcasting!

Sipowicz said:i actually think idle thumbs and gamers with jobs sound the same, the people just seem really boring and i cant tell the difference between them
the difference being that the people on GWJ seem much better informed. i 've listened to idle thumbs once and it was some of the most ignorant shit i've ever heard

Yesterday's episode Jeff and Ryan spend the first part of the podcast making fun of people that basically looked like(based off their descriptions) Ryan. I guess it was supposed to be funny, I just found it sad.glaurung said:Giant Bombcast that turned into a bunch of lazy morbidly obese guys sitting around discussing fast food.
This is my exact experience.Class_A_Ninja said:In the bizarro version of this thread, I post Idle Thumbs. I hated it when I first listened to it. A half a year later, I listen to it again in desperation, and it has been a hilarious and enlightening experience.
F yeah!Kos Luftar said:New IdleThumbs is out, you all should just go listen to it.
tak said:I wasn't complaining about the lack of gaming talk or gaming news. I like it when a gaming podcast dives into a non-gaming story. I find it a nice break from the routine.
As for the Japan talk, the vast majority of his occasional Japan talk centers around how backwards tipping is in America and how great customer service is in Japan. If that makes you happy, more power to you. However, don't tease the notion he's doing large dissertations on Japan, he is not. It's not surprising he doesn't dive deeper into Japan culture since he cannot speak the language, which is starting to get a little sad since he has lived in the country for multiple years.
Jtwo said:Yeah Major's show can be pretty hard to listen to.
It just seems so fake. It's like info/instructions for people who don't know anything about videogames but packaged like a real conversation.
On the most recent one Laura was like "oh man I have this story" and then it turned out to be info on how to save your game in ODST. :lol
It sounded so forced.

I don't remember the last episode they talked about it, actually. You never figured they would stop once it's on break?TouchMyBox said:Also, I sadly had to stop listening to The Geekbox once it became a lost podcast.

F#A#Oo said:I use to like Gamers with Jobs...but slowly it started to annoy me and I became increasingly uniterested in the podcast.
Their lack of knowledge in some cases on topics they decide to discuss was most annoying imho...

Nose Master said:CAGcast. Cheapy is always, always wrong, and Wombat is insecure and whiny. And neither of them actually fucking play games, it seems.
Matt's ok as long as you take him with a pinch of salt, but I really can't stand Bozon. I guess it's not his fault, but he's basically the stereotypical games journalist with the same annoying opinions about games as a medium, reviews etc etc. Could only listen for a few weeks.Gomu Gomu said:Nintendo Voice Chat

dark days, friends. dark days.
PoweredBySoy said:Awhile ago though they did have a 'segment' where one of the guys, I forget his name, vowed to play a game every month that he normally wouldn't play and then would talk about it. I thought that had real potential to force some interesting discussion, but it really didn't go anywhere.
Efrendal said:Oh the memories. Gaming Steve was one of the first (if not the first) podcasts i started listening to. That guy got me soooooooo hyped for Spore (still haven't forgiven him for making me run out and buy that piece of ****).
Schlep said:Glad my podcast isn't well known enough to be bitched about on here. :lol
Nah, it was just an off the cuff comment about how sobering it is to see all of the complaints about the various podcasts. Doing one is a lot of work for very little return, so complaints are always hard to deal with, legitimate or not.Blast Processing said:You lie, and so does everyone else who dropped in here to say the same thing.
I completely agree, though I would loved to have seen Shane and David Ellis on the podcast together more, because Ellis less is basically a less informed version of Luke, the discussion/arguements that could have come from them would be awesome. Not to mention someone would actually call out Ellis on the misinformed crap he sputters sometimes, which Shane did, at least once, just about every episode they were on together.iconoclast said:1up Yours sucks without Luke, Shane, Mark and/or Shawn.
So I'll go with that.
Annihilator said:Gamers with Jobs is one I used to really like a lot and then they got to 360 centric and every week would slam PS3 for no real reason.

It infuriates me so much that I almost want to start my own podcast out of spite.
I found this through the search. Apparently there wasn't a thread this week.eznark said:Had to stop listening to this weeks Geekbox for the same reason. Some dude named Patrick was on and he was like a real life incarnation of "Comic Book Bug" except he was a dbag about every topic they broached (except piracy). He also decided to completely take over the podcast. Annoying as hell.
