Immediately. In my opinion, and I'm sure others can back me up, there really isn't any use for Power Items for IV breeding in this gen now that Destiny Knot is here.

Odd choice, but what are the other moves?

So basically just get a good parent and destiny knot it? Replace old parents with better parents and continue until 5-6 perfects?

So i'm running this Chesnaught

Impish @ leftovers
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Attack

Leech seed
Wood Hammer
Spiky Shield
Power-Up Punch

I'm thinking of dropping Power-Up Punch for Toxic and just becoming a really annoying physical wall. :P

-I'm thinking about getting a Magnezone, should I go for sturdy or Magnet pull?

Edit: or maybe an eviolite Magneton??
Manger...ability. What does you team need; Magne sorting out pesky steel types (traditionally Skarm; don't know how well it can kill Lucario or that pesky keyring) or Magne being able to withstand a hit from a hard counter? (though weather permitting if it helps).

That reminds me, is magnet pull is announced when you switch in? If it isn't you can play mindgames (an opponent may be deterred from switching steel in and getting trapped), otherwise disregard that.

How is it possible that people are getting Dittos with 31 IVs in 4/5 of the stats? Is it possible to find a Pokemon with those kind of IVs in the Friend Safari? I've gotten dittos with 31 IVs in 3 stats, but not 4 or 5.

It all boils down to luck.

No matter how many times you praise the RNG gods, they listen to no man.

I just saw this image (not sure if posted).

The mystery of Dugtrio's claws will never be known.

No way, power items rule!

Let's say you have two safari mons. One has HP/Atk the other Def/SpD. You want all four.

W/ Destiny Knot, offspring inherits 5/6 random stats from the parents.

(2/6) * (1/2 * 4/5) (1/2 * 3/4) (1/2 * 2/3) (1/2 * 1/2)

W/ Destiny Knot + Relevant Power item, offspring inherits 1 guaranteed stat and 4/5 random stats.

(2/5) * (1/2 * 3/4) (1/2 * 2/3) (1/2 * 1/2) (1/1 * 1/1)

The power item increases odds of a 4/4 stat inheritance by 300%!

So trying to breed a pair of perfect Modest Nidos.

Current count:
-7 Nidoran F with 5 IVs, but flawed
-3 Nidoran M with 5 IVs, but flawed

The RNG is screwing with my head at this point, I know it. If someone wants one, feel free to ask. They are free.

Power Item completly overrides Destiny Knot. Destiny Knot is disabled and the mon will secure one IV and get 2 from the parents at random
Two power items have 50% chance each of passing down its IV.

Finally bred my first perfect pokemon.

A timid Larvesta :D

That took long enough. Going to try to breed more then offer them for trade in the other thread.

That's a whole lot of Math that I'm too lazy to try and make sense of it but I think I'll stick with Destiny Knot + Everstone, the best collab since Dre/Snoop.

Power items do rock for breeding...

...

When one parent has one good IV worth passing down while the other doesn't. I wouldn't bother with the Destiny Knot unless both parents have a combined total of at least 4 perfect IVs.
