My bit about not as good as the other minigames in the series was a little tongue-in-cheek, since I try not to say bad stuff about stuff I haven't played. But I don't play card games much (and this seems to be based on one but I don't know what it is), so it's not really my thing. It looks like it could be fun for people into card games, I guess.

But my point was that since Sazh's DLC is essentially comprised of minigames right up until the end, it isn't very substantial in terms of story DLC--or at least what was originally expected of the story DLC, which is unfortunate. I remember when the game literally told me that the card game would be released as DLC or something to that effect (and didn't even use the phrase "this area is under construction; please come back at a later date") when I played through it (so early to mid February, I guess). I laughed because I didn't think the game would be so frank about it.

Slots are great. The hours involved will be amazing should KFJ decide to go for the True Ending, if he doesn't do what I did.

...Slots are crap. (Note the method to finish off the slots minigame in the last link. Worst minigame ever since the profits you can make are low, even if you do it manually.)

Motomu Toriyama apparently liked her character concept so he gave her a backstory and made her merchant to make her featured more prominently. I guess this is the result.

I didn't really question his storytelling til I played The 3rd Birthday. I don't know wtf happened in that game but I do know it systematically effed up the entire Parasite Eve franchise story wise. Didn't think it was possible to make a worse story in the series than Parasite Eve II but I guess I was wrong. I was really pleased with FFXIII and XIII-2 though.

I had put off buying the game all this time and last night I was thinking about buying it, but ironically today this thread pops up. I guess it's a sign to avoid it lol.

If you can find it at a price you'd find decent, I don't see why you shouldn't buy it. If you think you'll enjoy it, go for it.

Yeah, their audio is louder than the vocals in some of the BGMs.

I don't think you've heard TIME AND SPACE yet. They don't seem to spend a lot of time in the Historia Crux menu.

The music in this game is decent and well-composed. If you can tolerate most Sonic soundtracks, DMC vocal stuff (since the vocalist for those games does vocals on two songs in FFXIII-2), and/or Persona 3/4 soundtracks, you'll easily be able to adapt here. At least they're trying something new.

uStream started enforcing a hard storage limit of 10gb so right before the posse did the "give us money for new equipment" telethon stream Pokecapn went in and cleaned out his uStream archive.

Oh, thank goodness for a new episode. Not gonna lie. I've been checking daily for this stuff because... I wanted something that was intentionally funny to laugh at.

What I love about this is that they're doing the same thing the rest of us did for the stupid slots fragment. Just put a rubber band or scrunchie on the auto-play button and make the game play itself for a few hours.

Chronobind didn't exist when I did the Serendipity trophy so I ended up playing slots over and over for it since I didn't put the effort into chocobo raising. It was horrific!

And the best Sentinel is this dude, especially if you infuse Crushabolic into it to give it Mediguard and a ton of other passive skills like Improved Guard, Improved Ward, Resist Elements +30%, Resist Magic+36%, Resist Physical +36%, and an HP+ thing. It's expensive, but oh my god, it's fan-effing-tastic. It's a good way for Crushabolic to live on:

Episode 30 - I'm Sorry Ms. Farron

KFJ did slots in the time between the last episode and this episode but it didn't work out in the end since the 360 controller turns off after a certain amount of time. And he also played some Chronobind. They help make little chocobo chicks fall in love, and they learn Chocolina's secret!

And then they travel through time to complete a sidequest that I actually didn't do until the very end of the game. "No, they said, 'wrrrrraaaaooooowwwwwm wrrrraaaaaoooowwwwm wrrrraaaaooowwwwm...'"

I'm guessing they're just doing fragment hunting before Episode 5.

Edit: Huh. So I've never seen the FFXIII characters in action as monsters before. Why does the monster AI waste a turn to cast offensive buffs on himself? That makes zero sense because he's a Synergist and can't attack...

It's not bad. My opinion is actually a little different from some people in the game's OT; I was incredibly turned off and disappointed by how easy FFXIII-2 was in comparison to FFXIII('s late-postgame). I don't like that the game just doesn't support its battle system at all because the game's so easy. Overall, it complements the original game well in terms of content.

I think more people in general liked it more than FFXIII, but tbh, I think... the game ended up making me appreciate FFXIII more, particularly with regards to how much stuff I ended up figuring out for an FFXIII platinum run (ex: attack animation times, watching enemy animations, trying to make myself strong but not too strong for a 5-star rating, learning how to take down Guis who are way stronger than I am and who have random attack patterns, etc). FFXIII-2 was a joke in comparison because you don't need to look at that stuff to get through the game, even if you went through it with a No Monster Run like I did (nor, might I add, do you have to use your full role set to construct proper Optimae to get through boss situations).

You know how I feel about narratives in general if you frequent RPG threads, so I can't tell you without bias or spoilers if this is good or bad (of course, if you read the spoiler thread and some of my initial impressions in the OT, you know that I don't think highly of it since... I guess I expected more in terms of worldview and historical stuff, and all of that nonsense is shoved into the Datalog again). Due to this LP, I like thinking of this game as a comedy; that way the dialogue and plot is kind of better.
