Sadly she stopped playing OoT and a lot of other of the more complex games she speed ran because apparently she has developed very bad hand problems according to the interview Klepek did with her for Kotaku a few months back.

Excuse me, but I happen to have a friend who is transgender and have found that most transgender people I have encountered tend to refer to others as trans people, or trans, or transgender so how about you take your own advice?

Don't victim blame her. She shouldn't be prevented from living her life, and even having to quit her job, just because the internet (and society as a whole) treats trans people like trash.

Ever since I've heard about her transitioning I've been worried about her. She was so popular on the internet that her change made her a big target.

I thought she found a little safe haven with her subscriber only chat but i guess outside of that people were stupid as always.

Admittedly i haven't followed her since she stopped speedrunning but i hope for the best for her.
 
That fucking blows, I never got to watch any of her streams apart from this amazing Wind Waker run a good while back. Hope life works itself out.
 
I don't understand people who spew so much pointless hate online. Do they feel a sense of accomplishment when their victims kill themselves? If so, they are sociopathic.
 
It is fucking depressing to read, almost, daily events aimed at people who are not categorised to the liking of the bile spewing scum of the internet. They must be so loathing of their own life that they have to systematically attempt the destruction of someone else.

Hopefully it is a cry for help and that cry is listened to and actioned upon by those close to her to help her through what must be an awful time.
 
I don't watch a lot of twitch these days so I wasn't aware that Cosmo had become Narcissa. I used to love her speedruns during agdq, they were my favorite parts of these streams and she was great during the Nintendo championship. How sad that some idiots on the internet can't handle someone else coming to terms with who they are. And the worst thing is that these assholes are probably just a tiny minority but they are so loud that their insults are probably all Narcissa can hear.

Hopefully, she will see this thread and other messages of support and understand that she is not alone and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
 
The internet is a bad place for different people. You get insecure, unhappy and dumb people attacking you from the safety of their home and anonimity.

I only knew Cosmo from Wind Waker speedruns, sucks she has to go through this. The only solution is not reading comments or starting to see them for what they are: mindless hate from idiots.

People are mean on internet, everybody know that, that's why she needs to stop reading (or paying attention at) those comments. Who gives a fuck if kevin0203 said something mean about you. You shouldn't care, that's all I'm saying.

I've got alerts for her streams since she was Cosmo and jumped on every now and then. Wasn't aware that this was happening. Hope Narcissa gets the help they need.

I don't understand societies obsession with trolling people.

Sucks that people aren't more understanding/accepting... But hell if you have a problem with something someone does, just leave them alone. Why take time out of your day to make them feel bad?
 
I don't know if she'll ever see or even care about them, but I just tweeted her a few words of support. If so many strangers out there can choose to be so horrible to people simply for being who they are, then it's the least I can do to be a stranger who tries to balance out all that negativity with some kind words.

It's slight, I know, and I wish I could do more. I'm just glad this thread brought this situation to my attention. Seriously though, what the actual fuck is wrong with the larger gaming community?
 
looking for comprehension on the internet might not be the smartest decision...if you decide to be a publicc person on the internet,streamer or whatelese,you have to be ready to grow a thick skin against a certain kind of internet inhabitant
 
Pretty fuckin' sure these basement dwelling shitstains haven't seen sunlight in their lives. Unless and until cyberbullying is classified under cyberterrorism universally, by every local PD in this world, this will continue and only increase in the future with how much the streaming market is capitalizing, as both, a live alternative content delivery medium and a business model for all these streamers. Objectively, come to think of it, if you can arrest kids for swatting, this shouldn't be any different.

Hope she recovers soon.
 
It's not just the internet, the world itself is full of assholes, fake ones at that alot. Which makes it suck more that someone getting shit and feeling the way they do for being real and just themselves. I know it's easier said than done but gotta find ways to not allow people to change the way you want to live your life and not waste the one thing we can never get back on them, time. That's the one true shared enemy we all have and it's gonna beat us all in the end so I hope she can find a way to look at the bigger picture and see that that stuff shouldn't matter and any second wasted being upset because of them or living her life a different way because of them just isn't worth it and neither or they.

Horrible treatment, further highlighting the need for proper responses to internet harrasment. If you sent this shit to someone as a letter you'd be in trouble, but poor understanding of the internet leads us to shit like this not being punished. Disgusting.

Also lol @ "just log off", as if literally every person who's been harassed online hasn't said that that doesn't work and it sticks with you.

I really hope she is able to get the help she needs to feel better.
 
God fucking dammit. Her stream was always incredibly toxic even before she transitioned but once she did oh my god did the reactions to her became absolutely disgusting. I hope she finds some strength somewhere to get through this because she was one of the best speedrunners going and a truly delightful person. If you've ever seen her stream the sheer garbage that gets thrown at her on a daily basis is overwhelming.

Poor Narcissa, I loved what she did for the Ocarina of Time speedrunning community. Her gender identity doesn't change what kinda personality she is and it's sad her getting mistreated just for wanting to be herself.

I hope she can just ignore the trolls and resume her life the way she wants.

Which sadly won't happen.

Therefore I really hopes she takes some time off the internet or certain aspects of it and stablises and finds a proper therapy.
 
Well, the one positive is that she's likely not planning on actually committing suicide right now or she would have already done so. Hopefully someone close to her can get her the help she needs.
 
Holy smokes, last time I saw a video of her was pre-transition.

Hopefully she doesn't let the internet shitheads push her into doing something that can't be undone.
 
Judging by the tweets it seems like this is partly a crisis of confidence and she's blaming herself for losing subscribers because she isn't as passionate as she once was, or something

It is easier-said-than-done. I remember TotalBiscuit saying it is like a "death by a thousand paper cuts" and that you could be praised 100 times in the day but you always remember the shitbag comment the most.

Some people are able to ignore and, I guess, laugh at some of the sheer putrid poison that is typed whilst others let it engulf them to the point where it is damaging to their entire life. You cannot help your personality in regards to how you handle insults / criticism.

And I can guess that those harassing Narcissa are persistent and do not let things rest. Imagine it: constant cruel words being directed towards her all the time. They have sod-all else in their fucking existance so try to fuck some one else over.
