Long overdue
You don't believe that he's actually going to do that, if elected, do you? If there was any reason to actually indict Hillary Clinton, any reason or evidence or anything... why not release that and do it now? Why even wait? If it exists, it should be easy. What's there to lose? So we're left with him either lying or incompetent. In either case, why reward it? If Hillary's so corrupt, so evil, so criminal, it should be a simple matter right? But yet time and time again, they fail. Why reward that incompetence? Why reward someone who can't actually do something they claim to be so simple? Why reward someone simply for spewing hot air while showing no ability to actually be able to do so and follow through and just continue to let her go free time and time again? If it's really so easy, but yet they fail, who needs them? What good are they?

The whole thought process is entirely inconsistent and leads to the logical end point that all the Republicans, including Trump, deserve to come nowhere near power for failing in the simple task of sending the clearly criminal Hillary Clinton to jail and just letting her go free time and time again, scandal after scandal. Sad!

Should have been Bernie, dems shot themselves in the foot.

Bernie was a terrible, terrible candidate. This country needed a strong, moderate republican candidate to counter-balance the tea party hate group that has taken over one of 2 political parties that mean anything. While most find glee in the destruction of the Republican party what we needed were two candidates that can move discussions forward. Do you honestly feel the discourse would be any different if Bernie was the nominee? Don't blame Hilary for the state of political affairs that we all witnessed last night..

It was fortunate, and I guess fair for Trump that the email thing came up right up after the tape issue. If his stammering about locker room talk and ISIS was followed by the Pence comments or the tax issue it might have been difficult to retain composure.

It was Bernie the old outsider who nobody knew vs Hillary the Clinton machinery.

Im super suprised he got as far as he did. I thought he would be forgotten before long before we entered 2016.

He couldn't beat Hillary and there's little to nothing to suggest that he could beat Trump.

Behold, the Both Sides Brigade of GAF!

Yesterday many of us were amazed that so many people could watch this event and conclude Trump won or that it was even a draw given that one candidate gave substantive answers and addressed, in detail, policy positions and the questions posed to her by the town hall undecideds while her opponent literally rambled incoherently throughout the night, if less so than in the last debate. These posts are a reminder that regardless of how Clinton exhibits her experience and her willingness to tackle topics that require nuance and a depth of knowledge there will always be people who caricaturize her and her stances.

These are people who, I suspect, don't really care about the issues. And if I am to be honest, I also suspect many of these people aren't really on the fence, but embarrassed right wingers who have internally acknowledged the defense of Trump is a lost cause on GAF and have segued onto the safer and more disingenuous tactic of bringing HRC down to his level.

Example:

Here is what Clinton actually said:

If you can watch this and then run to GAF with a summary that is simply "I want things", it is clear that marriage equality, Roe v Wade, Citizens United and filling the vacancy are not issues that are of concern to you. In the first post I quoted, Kor said HRC's responses were just "nonsense that no one really gives a shit about." But these "things" matter a great deal to a great many people and the BSers are giving themselves away by how easily they dismiss such issues.

Honestly at this point I've given up being alarmed or frustrated by both sides crap. It's a position held at this stage of the election almost exclusively by the willfully ignorant or the cowardly who'd rather not publicize their support for Donald Trump.

Obama's win against Hillary destroys your "Clinton machinery" talking point. Obama was far, far more unknown than Bernie then, as well as a shitload of other perceived disadvantages against Hillary. Not to mention Hillary did not have the baggage (emails/benghazi/etc) she had today- yet, he still won. Bernie fans can never admit that he lost fair and square, by every metric, and thats sad.

He is an old self declared socialist from Vermont. Of course he couldn't beat Hillary.

I disagree. Obama was such a much better speaker than Hillary, miles better.

And please, stop generalizing, Im a Bernie fan and he lost. Sad, but he lost.

I will put rightlu call it for what it is.

Intellectual cowardice and laziness. People that don't want to and can't be bothered to learn anything about a topic so they can keep spouting their puerile low level garbage as a real talking point.
Yeah, it's one of my biggest pet peeves. People who don't know anything/are too lazy to know anything trying to inject themselves into the conversation to get attention back on them. There's not really a whole lot of difference between "both sides are bad, fuck this election" and Trump's whole "we're not winning anymore, everything is terrible" shtick, or if nothing else about the same amount of thought went into both statements. It's basically as bad as people who think they're really smart when they present that fraud study about how vaccines cause autism.

I feel like it may be a coping mechanism on some level to make you feel like your own life is separate from the bad things in the world? I don't have too much sympathy though because it's definitely a bad thing.

Jeeeeez, that guys 42? Jeeeeeeeeeez.

It's kind of amusing to watch the remaining Trump defenders start to lose their cool now. Like Trump I guess they figure they have nothing to lose so they are just going to come out with it. Let's see if it pays off.

on a side note, is there any good resource that can help me figure out what are actual things about Hillary that is worth discussing about, including questionable decisions or policies or what not?

Theres been so much shit smearing everywhere that I'm having a hard time figuring out what her actual 'flaws' are?

Because of you, and people like you. Abstaining/Voting 3rd party doesn't make you edgy, clever, or anything else, it simply means you do not have the intellectual or moral capacity to make an obvious rational choice between two candidates beyond "both are bad". So, you choose to NOT vote against Trump, and NOT repudiate his condoning of sexual assault, demagoguery, hate-mongering, racism, sexism, xenophobia, and the endless litany of horrendous traits that makes this person a miserable human being unfit for any type of office, because "you hate them both". Pat yourself on the back, you're quite the special snowflake.

The fact that you're 42 makes it even worse.
Exactly. What's Hillary going to do to hurt us? Move my Facebook emails to my spam folder? Trump is dangerous.

That's actually a good request. Because she is such a divisive figure in politics it will be difficult finding anyone discussing her flaws with objectivity and without overt bias. Politifact lists statements she has made that are mostly false, completely false and flat out distortions. You could start there if you're trying to get an idea of her weak points. Ontheissues.org also has an insanely exhaustive record of her voting history and stances on issues in general, which anyone can use to get an idea of the type of politician she is.

I'm actually enjoying the Trumpers lose their shit and just go whole hog. It's entertaining watching them slowly realize that the chances of their orange overlord they stood behind getting into the White House become slimmer and slimmer. And I will greatly enjoy it on Election Day. >:3

In March, during a CNN town hall, from Hillary Clinton.

Hillary was criticized for those comments as "killing jobs".

You're welcome to be cynical if you want, but try to do some research.

People can be callous enough to say "There's only 75,000 coal mining jobs left in the US, why bother?" But the whole point is not to leave them behind and take them also through an energy industry transition.
Good post.

This whole only hearing what you want to hear thing is annoying. Hillary was clearly not for coal, and wants to give those workers and many others a new task in renewable energy.

I get it now. With people now a days I don't need to debate by having good points and counter arugements. I just need to talk as much shit as I can about the other person and how much of a bad person they are by using false facts and hyperboles. Trump found the secret to winning debates.
/s

In other news fuck Donald Trump and those who still support him. Hillary is somewhat right decent amount of the United States are bigots and sure they are not as bad as trump himself but are shitty people none the less and have to agree with his shitty beliefs or are just too dumb to look past some emails that lead to a whole bunch of nothing.

Holy shit the anchor's expressions are gold.

How is this lady even getting on TV, it's just pure nonsense.

What's amusing to me about that is many if not most Democrats identify as Christian so her line of thinking isn't that far off from what many believe, even if they aren't open about it.

Well not the rest but the "God works in mysterious ways" rhetoric.

Since a few mentioned a perceived bias towards trump in my TL;DR debate notes: I am 42, and have voted Democrat in every election up to this one. I do hate both candidates but there is no way I will vote for Hillary. Even taking that into account, most of my choices in summaries were for humor more than anything, and I will likely vote either 3rd party, write in, or abstain entirely.

That one answer where Trump was like "We need more nukes than Russia" felt so out of place I laughed out loud at how insane it was. The next 4 to 8 years are going to be dark times...

So you are going to listen to a bunch of debunked conspiracy bullshit and let it keep you from voting against a fascist and sexual predator?

Good job.

Old? Trump wants the RNC debate co chair to quit because he wouldn't let those chicks have VIP seats at the debate.

Donald J. Trump demanded on Monday that the Republican co-chairman of the Presidential Commission on Debates step down, intensifying a clash that could precipitate Mr. Trump’s withdrawal from the third and final debate in Las Vegas next week.

Looks like he found his out.

Nobody knew?

His fellow senators and congressmen knew who he was, worked DIRECTLY WITH HIM, and they were superdelegates and went with the democrat running, not the independent.

But despite Trump’s consistent complaints that Clinton was getting more time, a final count for speaking time by CNN showed that he got more time – though the split was nearly even: 40 minutes and 10 seconds for Trump, 39 minutes and five seconds for Clinton.

This still cracks me up.

Couldn't agree more with this post. Both sides posters are straight losers.

Something that bugs me

There are less than 75,000 coal miners in the US, a country with over 300 million people. They are a fiftieth of a percent of the population. And yet both Presidential candidates keep tripping over themselves to adore that demographic.

Trump was specifically referring to miners, but Hillary seemed to be focusing on the broader users of fossil fuels, which I assume would include the people who also work in coal fire power plants and other associated industries that use coal.
