Why is it in the Champions League mode, everyone plays their reserve side?

of course i watched it. it was pretty disappointing. but we didn't lose and that's ok for me at the moment.

by the way. got a question about the master league. the problem is: a lot of my players suffer under bad arrows. i have a a lot of people with purple arrows before a match. and i already bought a level 2 coach. but they still suck.

Yeah I have this issue too. Check to see how happy they are etc, may make a difference. Also, how do you buy new coach/scout etc?

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I put 300 hours into last years version and if I didn't buy and play as many games throughout the year and only played a select few games, that number would be well in excess of 1000 hours.
 
I finally got the damn game. So awesome, but my first few games I've seen players bunch up to the ball, and my CBs running into the box for some unknown reason. I dont have CB overlap on but sometimes they even run into the box on an attack. I wonder if it has to do with defense type 2.

Anyways, i think its something that can be fixed by tweaking the strategy. It is so noticeable this time around, any tweak you do has an impact on the game. It feels so damn good to score.

if you want to buy a new coach you should check the management options in the main menue of the master league!

and i looked for some answers concerning the form. someone at WENB said you should put more focus points on the athletic of each player. it should prevent a bad form.

i'm having a good time so far. especially with my bayern münchen option file :lol too bad they didn't add the Allianz Arena this year.

it's the first time since years that i put emphasize on the master league. looking back at 2008 and 2009 I almost spent my whole play time in the online mode. but some how it doesn't appeal to me this year... anyway. if you want to play against me, just add me. My PSN nick is DimiKun .

To begin with this is nothing but a silly flamebait statement. Just comparing this years pro evolution to last years version the graphics are significantly better, the online is great and almost lag free unlike last years version which was a lag fest, the presentation of the menus is much better, the sound track is better, it has 360 player movement, a fully fleshed out tactics system, a more involved masters league mode with champions league intergration.....the list goes on and on and to proove the point even further this years pro evolution has out scored the previous 2 versions of pro evolution on the ps3 and 360 on metacritic.

I can only comment on the 360 version of the game because that is the one that i own, but in over 20 hours worth of gameplay i have never had any input lag and the responsiveness of the controls are perfectly fine. The demo of pro evolution this year had some input lag but that was an early build of the game and the full game corrects those errors.

:lol I can't say this in any other way other than you are talking complete and utter cr*p, the referees aren't biased, the whole world isn't against you, you just don't know how to play the game. If you come at a player from the wrong side and hold down the tackle button, he can't get the ball and all he can do is grab the other guys shirt and give away a foul. If you don't want to give away fouls position your player in front of the other player and then tackle....and no the computer doesn't constantly foul you and get away with it, 99% of the time if it's a foul it is given.

No really they don't, i'm yet to have lost a single game against the computer and this years version has been made easier than the last couple of iterations, if you think the computer yet again cheats you then all i can say is you need to get better at the game and not dive into tackles you can't make.

Nothing at all wrong with the A.I. team mates, this years version is one of very best when it comes to team A.I., if you don't like a particular style of play then change it using the tactics system.

I've been playing pro evolution (and it's previous games under a different name) since day one and on the online leaderboards i've always been in the top 100 or top couple of hundred so all i can say to you is your points are are wrong and from the sound of things you aren't particually great at the game. I suggest taking the games difficulty down a few levels, trying out a few tactical changes and also spending some time in the practice mode.

Thanks :) Seems you can't buy them until the summer transfer window though...

Anyway, I discovered the training section where you can allocate skill points for each player to different skills. Got my strikers 0 defense and 4 shot :)

After my 4th place finish in Division 2 last year, I'm struggling this season in mid-table. I got to the cup quarter finals though and only got beat by Lazio on pens :( Still can't get used to the penalties in this version :(

I need help with the import chants function (PS3)!

I take my mp3 on a pen drive.
I import them in my PS3 (select them and copy), which creates an "unknown" folder in the music tab, containing the mp3 I copied from the pen drive.
Fron there, I create a new playlist named "PES_KONAMI" (deleting that empty space at the end of the name, which the PS3 adds by the default) and I put in it all the .mp3 I have in the "unknown" music folder.

Then I boot up PES, go to EDIT mode, TEAM, Team chants, USER or something like that and upload, right? Nope, because every fucking time I get "no data available".

Fuck.
What do I do wrong? Is there a fixed kbps for the .mp3 or something like that?
HALP!

Are you sure about the date? Some retailers have changed their dates to february.. I really hope that's a mistake as a result of lack of final release date confirmation.

So, with transferring players to the club, where are the players that aren't signed to a team? My memory of PES 6 was that you had the "real" players who were under contract, but then there would be a ton of unsigned players that you could sort through to try and find some future stars and I can't figure out where those players are. Is the youth team the only way that new players can enter the ML?

It looks like it :( Which is a shame because like you, I loved finding the made up players or those that played for teams not in the game in previous versions. The youth team works well though :)
 
i bought arshavin for 5m euros. he already scored 8 times in 7 matches. so awesome to see him wearing the bayern shirt :lol

Just made it to the end of my first season, and it looks like the other clubs are also able to sign players from their own youth team, so I guess that's where you find the young players.
Getting the feel for master league now, and really starting to enjoy it. I just wish I was better at the game because I love the idea of starting with the ML reject team and slowly building them into a gret team. But I can't do anything with those fools on 5 star.

Does anyone know how to unlock the birds-eye camera angle in PES 2010 (PS3). Tried the updated optionsfile from WENB without luck.

Really hope that this camera hasn´t been scrapped...

Birds-eye camera. heh. Good times with PES 5. I played soooo much better with that cam, that's how I started to win matches in 6 stars difficulty.

Had to buy it from the PES shop and everything, PES had a lot of awesome things back then, I don't get why do they always have to scrap cool stuff from previous iterations.

Anyway, haven't heard of that camera since.

Thanks for the answer though! And yeah, nothing more satisfying in PES than a good cross in birds-eye.

OT: All games should have some kind of birds-eye perspective. Context is king. :D

And when your answer to each and every one of the other posters' gripes with the game is "I'm sooo good with this game and the only reason you guys are having problems is because you suck at it".

I'm trying to do so, I love PES and I can't enjoy FIFA so there's no choice for me, but to just say there's no imput-lag (or a better way to say: the players, even those with high stats, aren't responsive enough) it's blatantly lying and it's not fair to people who are waiting to buy the game. That's not a "simulation" choice either, since there's nothing realistic about having a gap of 2 seconds between my button presses and the player actually passiong the ball. And it certainly wasn't this way in previous iteration of the game up until the awful "next-gen" engine came. Especially in the godly Winning Eleven (JAP) side of things.

I can't help but to think your player response issue is also one stemming from user error.
 
Real quick, this has probably been asked.

I live in the US but I want the Euro version of the game so that I can get the best system files. As long as its a PAL version of the game it should be fine, right? Amazon uk doesn't deliver to the US so Im looking at eBay and the best and cheaper option I found says its the PAL version of the game, so that should be enough, right?

PAL versions vary too.

An OF made for the UK version won't work on the Portugal/Spain version etc.

Your best bet would be going with the UK version of the game, but other than that, that's pretty much it.

Yeah, definitely make sure its the UK version, else you will have to wait for someone to make a compatible version of the option files.


Something I've noticed after the first champions league title is that they made it so you can sidestep drag the ball from standing. I think this was possible to a certain degree in the past, but never with such precision execution and special feints from the sidestep.

I've always wanted to do this like what people at the wings would do at the edge of the box. Just a nice little addition and adds so much more realism to the game. Now my next wish is vertical 1-2 passes, please make it happen in the next version, or via a patch even!
 
Cool, spent a little extra $$$ to make sure I got the UK version, but a friend and I were playing Fifa the past few weeks and we tried, we really did, but we cant stand the shit that game pulls off.

Its kinda like people, all people are crazy, but some are YOUR kinda crazy, you know? PES does some wacky shit, but its the kind I can live with. Fifa's? Not so much, sorry.

I always assumed there was a pretty big community of PES players in the US who worked on system/data files...I guess that isn't the case? Or is it just that those folks mostly stick to the UK version so that the global community is on one version?

I've been planning to pick it up tomorrow (I haven't played PES in years, and the demo stunned me - amazing compared to FIFA, though I love FIFA), but if there's not much going on in the US community with content, perhaps I should do like you did.

Yeah there isnt a whole lot of system files in the US, theres a fair amount for Brazilian and Argentinian leagues, but thats about it ... but for the types of files you get from Euro versions its a hard find, nevermind finding updated files post patches etc.

For the amount of time Im gonna spend copying files and searching and implementing, I dont mind paying 15 or 20 extra dollars, its money well spent.
 
I fucking love this game. Its grown on me and I kick myself for not playing PES 5-10 years ago when I wouldn't touch a football game with a stick. (FIFA 2003 etc gave me bad memories)

I can play football anyway I want in this. I can dictate the pace and the midfield means something.

They didnt in 09, I have zero clue if they do on 2010, but Im playing it safe.

JP version is not out yet, but chances are very high that it will not.

What you could do though, even if it will take a days time or so, is copy the texture files for each kit from other option files, and then manually edit them in yourself. Most of the hard work is already done, so it shouldn't be all that bad.

I'm not sure what is the advantage to getting the JP version aside from Japanese commentary (which is definitely better than the English and other western variants).
Online play should be possible in-between regions on the same platform as well.

The amount of hassle you save with UK version outweighs the negatives imo. It's also cheaper than the JP version!
 
For those who have played ML extensively: How is the psychological of it? If a player only has one year left on his contract, will he be cheaper than if he has a long one? Will certain players refuse to renew their contract if they don't get played enough and will certain players accept to play less than others etc?
 
Just wanted to say my brothers and I are having a blast with the newest PES. I made some really cool goals. The game feels overall better than last years.

Basically all your post is saying is your opinion>my opinion, with nothing to back it up. If you actually genuinely think there is a 2 second lag between all buttons presses then there is something seriously wrong with you or your controller.
 
Just got the game today in NA, and I tried playing online and it told me that my version of PES 2010 is incompatible? What? I thought maybe I had to DL the latest version of a patch or something but nothing shows up under download...

This happened to anyone else?
